Summary: There wouldn't be a "Still Breathing" without music...
Review: "There wouldn't be a 'Still Breathing' without music to inspire it. Specifically the 'Berceuse' by Frederic Chopin, which became the soul of the film. I wrote the screenplay listening to this amazing piece of music over and over again, as well as Verdi's 'La Traviata' and the Jim Cullum Jazz Band playing Louie Armstrong. All of this music had a hand in creating the movie. I'm thrilled that this music and so many other wonderful works are included in the film, especially new recordings by Rita Springer and Michael Gettel, Madeleine Peyroux and Junior Brown. And what a brilliant score by Paul Mills! Thank you, Paul, and everyone who put so much into this movie."

Summary: Fraser makes us swoon again!
Review: A heart-warming love story about a quirky guy (Brendan Fraser)who plays a trumpet-playing, puppeteer who is sure he is in love with a seemingly hard-to-please, gold-digging snob(Joanna Going). Fraser has visions of his one true love and sets out to find her in this romantic comedy. A must-see for all Fraser fans.

Summary: Great Movie, great DVD
Review: Bought the video and bought the DVD too... There are restored scenes and a good commentary by the director -- My husband loves this movie for some reason!! he has watched it 3 times... Highly recommended examination of the Cynical Heart vs. Unconditional Love. We even showed it in my study group at church and had a great discussion afterwards. Some people don't "get it" because they expect a fluffy romantic comedy and the woman in the film is tough to warm to and rejects romance (that's the point) -- Fraser gives an atypical performance -- low key and thoughtful. No swinging into trees! Nice music too.

Summary: An Insult to Texans everywhere
Review: Brenda Frasier plays a sanctimonious, long-haired oogity-boogity new age sensitive guy street performer obsessed with decoupage and puppets who lives on spare change handouts. Joanna boing displays remarkable range as the vacuous, blank-eyed money grubbing shrew who is understandably put off by his attentions. Frasier takes his shirt off, but alas no nude scenes, and with that 3-day growth and fake-n-bake tan, he looks like he needs a bath. You can almost smell the B.O. Lou Rawls has the humiliating task of playing second banana to monkey boy's as a backup musician. Lou shoulda kicked Brenda in the nuts, grabbed the girl by the hair, engaged in a few car chases and street brawls, then maybe this steaming pile of celluloid might have been watchable.

Summary: Takes your breath away!
Review: Call me a sentimental fool and hopelessly romantic - who cares with a score this gorgeous! If you love the movie you have to have this CD. Paul Mills creates some incredibly emotion-packed sounds. When you listen to the various tracks they bring back vividly all the wonderful scenes in the movie. Great stuff!

Summary: what can I say?
Review: Fate, love, destiny, and Brenden Fraser, what more could a girl ask for? This is one of the most underrated movies I've ever seen in my whole life. This movie could make almost anyone believe that there is a soulmate out there waiting for any of us.

Summary: Perfect movie!
Review: First of all - I don't like movies too much nor the TV, but this movie struck me completely! The story was very unique, philosophic and what's the most important - the movie left me with hope, happines and love. That things you can't find in today's movies and are extremely rare. And it wasn't soapy or pathetic at all!

I wish I could live in the Fletcher's house and to have that green green garden with bunch of green leaves and the green river... And I wish I could meet people like Fletcher...

Summary: Still Breathing is a Breath of Fresh Air in Romance Films
Review: First time director James F. Robinson gives us a rare treat - a beautiful romance that both men and women can enjoy. I remember going to see this film when it was in theaters. I was totally surprised by the soundtrack, script and characters. The director showed off San Antonio and LA in their best colors, and created a soundtrack that is a real keeper. The story is about a woman con artist (Joanna Goings) who has given up on love and a performance artist (Brendan Fraser) who only believes in unconditional love. They collide in their nightly dreams (before they even meet) and in their waking hours. Both characters and their friends are true to form. Brendan Fraser's family and friends are really out there artistically, and Joanna Goings associates are out and out thieves. The transformation Joanna goes through to finally accept unconditional love and ultimately accept herself in a relationship with Brendan Fraser is truly heartwarming. This is a movie to be savored on a rainy day when you are curled up on the couch alone or with your honey. Be forewarned. Once you get the movie, you will want the original movie soundtrack. The heady slow mix of jazz and sweet classical music is downright intoxicating.
