Rating: Summary: Jim Carrey on cruise control Review: In Short, this is a movie that allows more than a few Jim Carrey show pieces. The moiemakers give him the general concept, stand back and let him go. The scene where he beats himself up is incredible and worth the price of admission there.
Rating: Summary: it hurts Review: The boardroom scene alone is worth admission. Probably my favorite Carrey role. I cried laughing a few times. Though a little slap-sticky, it's not over the top. Liar Liar: timeless.
Rating: Summary: Hit My Funny Bone -- Not Recommended for Children Review: OK. . ., to anyone who hasn't seen this movie, and you like to laugh occasionally at the normal albeit obscene thoughts of the dummies around you, imagine a guy who says everything that comes through his mind. You know people entertain lots of fleeting thoughts which, if known to others around them, would make them go screaming from the room. Jim Whats-His-Name is at his very best portraying this successful bozo who really has a lot on his mind that he really wouldn't like everyone around him to know.If you like to laugh, you will like this movie. You make not even take a breath for . . .. How long did it last? I don't think I even looked at the clock.
Rating: Summary: Liar Liar-A funny movie that isn't "crazy" Review: This is a AWESOME movie, it has Jim Carrey in it, but he isn't crazy like in his other movies, thats a great PLUS. It's about a man that loves his son, but because he is a lowyer, he has NO time for him, even though he would say promise. Not only is this lowyer, a lowyer, he is a lowyer that lies like crazy, if you have this on DVD collector's edition you get the un-cut part where he lies like crazy, and I mean crazy, and wins the case. Now his son wishes that he can't lie for ONE day, plus with hes wife thinking about going to Bosten with her ex-boyfriend, he's life turns around for the bad. He makes it funny by over-acting and he has to tell the truth, he can't not say nothing. In the end, he wins the case, his wife, and Max. Acters are very good:9.5/10 Fun, it's a fun movie:9/10 Movieplay, it's not long for a movie:5/10 Sound, it's just right with each secteon of the movie:9.5/10 Overall it's a good movie:9/10
Rating: Summary: Make me laugh Review: In this crazy world we live in, sometimes we have to test our emotions to see if they're still there. Whenever I feel the need to see if I still have the ability to just laugh and giggle, I watch this movie. It's not the juvenile type of humor and some of the subject matter isn't funny at all; however, if it catches you at the right time, it sure can crack you up! I don't particularly care for Jim Carrey, but he's got his moments in this film! The truth can hurt...but it can also humor you!
Rating: Summary: I can't lie Jim Carrey is funny Review: Fletcher Reede's (Jim Carrey) life is not going well. His wife, Audrey Reede (Maura Tierney) has dirvorced him. And his son Max (Justin Copper) doesn't belive what he says. And one dy, Max Reede tells his class "My dad's a liar." Then tells his class that his father goes to court and talks to the judge. And his teacher says, "Oh I see, you mean he's a lawyer." And Audrey's new boyfriend (Cary Elwes) is moving to Boston, and wants Audrey and Max to go with him. But when Fletcher calls Audrey that he is not coming to the party, and claims that he is too busy working. When he is really having sex. And Max makes a wish that Fletcher Reede can't tell a lie for 24 hours. And not only he lies to Max, but aslo to his mother (which we don't see in the movie). He been claming that he is on vaction. And that what he does to her, for 5 weeks.
Rating: Summary: Not funny Review: I probably would have given this movie two stars, but I guess that it isn't way below average. I just don't like it because it isn't funny. Jim Carrey movies are supposed to be funny, but this one doesn't even make me laugh once. Some people I know like it, so maybe you will think differently of it, but that is my opinoin.
Rating: Summary: I can't lie! This was just TOO funny! Review: This is Jim Carrey at his very best!Carrey plays a lawyer who promised to stop lying. The precidaments he gets himself into had me cracking up through the entire film! This movie is a definate buy!
Rating: Summary: One more word out of you Mr. Reede, or I'll hold trouble Review: I seen that video Liar Liar with Jim Carrey and he is silly and it is a cool video. On the part when he was at work the guy in a black beard holding the book yelled, "One more word out of you Mr. Reede, or I'll hold you into trouble," because he was being silly and folish and wasn't behaving at work when he sat down yelling. Max Reede {Justin Cooper} on his birthday wished his dad Fletcher Reede {Jim Carry} wished he didn't tell a lie for a whole year. The video Liar Liar looks like videos out of mine like Far & Away, Black Beauty, Grease, All in the Family, M*A*S*H, Pay it Forward, Cowboy Way, Home Alone & Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
Rating: Summary: The truth hurts, but lies hurt worse. Review: ...But then along came LIAR LIAR, and then I remembered why I thought Carrey was talented. Carrey plays a lawyer who will do and say anything to further his career. He doesn't care how he wins as long as wins. The truth is just another hurdle that can be easily be jumped over. His son, whom he has lied to one too many times, wishes out loud that the lawyer will never be able to lie again. And so, when Carrey's character opens his mouth only the truth will come out. Although this causes a lot of humorous complications that must be resolved, the lawyer becomes a better person because of it. One example is how he is forced to honestly represent a sleazy, abusive golddigger in a custody case against a loving father. It is also interesting to see him try to regain the respect of his ex-wife. His ex-wife has a new boyfriend who turns out to be a nice guy. But this movie isn't about a jerk who gets his just desserts - even though there is a little of that. It is about a liar who has to endure the hardship of seeing where his lies get him and the people he loves. Once he sees the harm he inflicts, he sets about making himself a better person. Even though my review seems serious, LIAR LIAR is great for its laughter value. It is unforgettable when Carrey beats himself up in the restroom. Carrey is not as obnoxious in LIAR LIAR as he is in ACE VENTURE, but he's a lot funnier.
