Rating: Summary: A Budding Selma Blair Review: ... makes KILL ME LATER definitely worth seeing. Her performance as the borderline suicidal loan agent is the stuff great actresses are made of, and she certainly gets great mileage out of every scene she inhabits. Think of her as a cross between Michelle Pfeiffer and Linda Fiorentino ... both in the beauty and brains department.Attempting to leap from the roof of her place of employment, she is inadvertantly kidnapped as a hostage by one of the bank robbers as the bank job falls miserably apart. However, in a darkly comic move, she agrees to serve as his hostage if and only if he agrees to kill her once they've escaped danger. The film is plagued by some moments of curious editing -- there is one long sequence where Blair and her captor spend discovering one another that plays out with forward and backward flashes over the course of several hours -- and some terribly overused slow-motion technique, KILL ME LATER will probably fail to be enjoyed by a larger audience. Still, it's a worth investment of under two hours for the sole purpose of watching Blair's magic unfold.
Rating: Summary: Well, this probably COULD have been a good movie. Review: After viewing this film, I felt the compelling need to vent a bit of my frustration. Selma Blair is a fabulous, currently underrated actress and Max Beesley was rather charming in "Kill Me Later". The story, while not exactly original, certainly showed some promise. None of that mattered though...at all.
I don't know what her deal is, but director Dana Lustig has virtually no talent whatsoever as a director. She slowed footage down, sped footage up, reversed footage, used awkward camera angles, used annoying color filters, made a zillion quick cuts, jumped back and forth in the timeline and topped it all off with an obnoxious "modern" soundtrack of blaring junk. I can't remember the last time I saw such an incompetent job of directing a film. Her ego must be huge to toss out the acting and story and put her direction front and center for the audience members to take notice of. It is crammed down their throats.
There are a couple of good scenes in "Kill Me Later" which show what could have and should have been. Unfortunately, just when things would start to show promise, Ms. Lustig would dig into her bag of film school tricks and jumble things up again. It's a shame because Blair and Beesley had good chemistry and you could tell that the film really had a good heart.
Rating: Summary: Kill Me Much Later So I Can Watch This.... Review: First. Let's start out with a summary: Shawn Holloway (Selma Blair) is having a bad day. Well.... a bad life. She's dating a man who is married; her boss no less. He isn't leaving his wife and she's contemplating suicide. Well. Today, she's decided to do it. The bank where she works is robbed, the lead assailant (Charlie Anders played wonderfully by Max Beesley) takes her hostage, and she helps him escape. And the story takes off from there. With supporting players such as Brendan Fehr (the kid in the robbery scheme who almost blows it all for "love"), and Agents McGinley (the older, experienced quippy agent) and Reed (who has a "weird thing" for knowing about Scuicide Psychology...) it's no wonder the movie is all around good. Good Acting. Good music. Good editing. Complex thinking. It's somehow relatable on an obscure level. And through it all, the characters are (well, tend to be) good people, which makes the watcher smile at all the subtle glances and glimpses of them. You get to see the reasons for their actions, and how they are so easily justified by the situation (or not as the case may be). It's a great movie; I can't say enough good about it. Please buy it. Or try the movie channels; I see it on alot there. I'm sure you won't regret it.
Rating: Summary: way better then some of the dark comedies out there Review: Heathers is the best example of a dark comedy..period..this one is also a good example too...Selma Blair(Cruel Intentions, Storytelling) plays Shawn, a lonely and suicidal girl who wants to kill herself...mixing a relationship with her boss played by D.W. Moffett(Traffic) so she goes to the roof ready to jump...when she is pulled back by a bank robber named Charlie(played awesomely by Max Beesley(Glitter, dont know why he was in that movie), and he makes a promise to Shawn that he will kill her later..so they high tail it the hell out of there and go to Beesley's place to wait for Beesley's friend Billy played by Brendan Fehr(Tv's Roswell, The Forsaken).. then the 2 get to know one another and things happen and they happen and mix in nice performances by Lochlyn Munro(Dead Man On Campus, Dracula 2000) and O'Neal Compton and you get a real good movie
Rating: Summary: This movie exemplifies why independent film is so good Review: I caught part of this movie one day by accident. I was channel surfing during a commercial and kept coming back to it. Eventually, I left the other program to watch this. It's an amazing movie. For starters, this movie shoots entire plot sequences in different locations and merges them together to create a seamless dialogue with an amazing visual effect. The next thing is the story. It's not your average boy-meets-girl-they-fall-in-love story. It's boy robs bank then kidnaps girl and drags her along and she falls for him story. I don't think that Selma Blair and Max Beesley could have pulled it off any better. The other plot device that makes the movie is the interplay between the two detectives (McGinley & Reed) assigned to the robbery. They give the story the depth without which, it would have been nothing more than an overdone short film. All in all, it's a watcher.
Rating: Summary: It is a different type of Love Story Review: I really liked this film. It is definately a different off beat movie but it is worth seeing! Does anybody know if there is a soundtrack or at least the songs that go to the movie?
Rating: Summary: A wonderful dark comedy Review: Selma Blair & Max Beesley make an excellent duo for this dark comedy/romance. I laughed, I cried, I hoped they'd get together... Joking, but it is good. Selma Blair's acting talent shines through as this is a side of her I've never seen before. I never thought she was that good of an actress as she always played idiots or some other character that had nothing going for them, but she proved me wrong with this movie. I've never seen Max Beesley before and he was pretty darn good. Not to mention his fabulous English accent! :) Shawn (Blair) & Charlie (Beesley) come together under odd circumstances in a suicide-robbery gone bad. Charlie takes Shawn hostage after his robbery of her firm goes bad and she promises she'll help him get away as long as he'll kill her when the whole ordeal is over. Things only get stranger from there on. Will they die or won't they? With cops after both now and the prospect of death on both their doors. Both begin to learn things about one another which shows the better days of both and makes you realize how the characters are both generally good people in a really bad point in their lives. By chance they become dependent of one another without knowing it, missing each other when they're apart and willing to give it all up for love. This movie is great. I saw it by chance and after one viewing it became my favorite movie. If you like dark comedy, romantic lipbiters or movies that catch you by surprise, you have to see this. SEE IT, YOU'LL LOVE IT!

Rating: Summary: Very Cool Review: This is a movie which is a very rare type of movie. This is a funny, but very sad story about a woman named Shawn, who thinks she is leading a life which is horrible. She thinks suicide is the only solution, until she meets a guy who is robbing a bank!! The robber takes her hostage and teaches her the meaning of life and how she should enjoy it. This is a love story which is very fast paced and funny at the same time. This is a movie in which I think should be recognized. This is a must see.
