Summary: Bubblicious!!
Review: The funniest movie of the year! Bubble Boy stars Jake Gyllenhaal (October Sky, Donnie Darko) and Marley Shelton (Valentine, Sugra and Spice) in a story about a young man, Jimmy Livingston who was born without any immunities forcing him to live in a bubble like surrounding. He feels he has everything when suddenly he falls in love with the girl next door named Chloe. Chloe and Jimmy become fast friends, when suddenly Chloe's boyfriend proposes, leaving Jimmy alone. Jimmy decides that he has to stop the wedding and confess his love to Chloe, so he builds a portable Bubble suit, and sets of to Niagra Falls. He meets rockstars, freaks, a cult, and much more on his way to Chloe.

This movie does not make fun of people with the disease at all, Jimmy is a hero. This movie is hillarious and will keep you laughing the whole time. The DVD is great except it should have more stuff on the adorable Jake Gyllenhaal, so buy it today! It's worth it! ;)

Summary: Funny Movie, Bare Bones DVD
Review: Bubble Boy is a great film to see if you're into absurd, zany, not-too-brainy, light hearted, silly comedies. I won't go through the plot of the movie, as there are other reviews that touch on that. I'll just say that I liked the movie a lot, and I plan on watching it again.

But while the movie was great, I didn't think the dvd itself was. Aside from a great, clear transfer of the film itself, there are just a few special features, and only one I found to be interesting. There is a director's diary, a short documentary where the fx creators of the film discuss their work on the film, some storyboards, a production design gallery, a sing along of a silly song in the film, and audio commentary with the director and the actor who plays Bubble Boy. But for all the extras on this disc, some basic features that I wish were included but were left out are the Bubble Boy trailer, deleted scenes, outtakes, and cast and crew bios/filmographies.

So while I loved the movie, I was let down by the exclusion of some basic extras that really should've been included as opposed to the extra features that did make it. While I can appreciate the efforts of the crew on the film, I prefered seeing the actors discussing their experiences in making the film more.

To sum up,it's worth a buy if you've seen it and want to see it more than just a few times more. Otherwise, just rent it and decide for yourself if it's worth a purchase.

Summary: The most underrated film of 2001
Review: Well everyone says that this one was horrible, but they need to stop and watch it for what it really is. Bubble Boy isn't an academy award movie, it won't win anything and its caused a ton of controversy. However, what it is; a great movie that will have you laughing all the way through it until the end, all that a movie like this should be. One of the best comedies I saw all year, check it out for yourselves, you won't be disappointed. Just remember to take it lightheartedly, after all, it is comedy.

Summary: Great movie!!!
Review: It's a shame this movie didn't make any money because it was just great. Personally, I don't believe they make fun of the disease in any way, I just think they were trying to make a funny movie, and they did. The actors were perfect. The story was perfect. I will definitely own this DVD when it is available. If you give this movie a chance, you just might like it. Rent or buy it when it is available, you won't be disappointed!!

Review: I thought Bubble Boy was good and funny.I know how people say that it's making fun of that disease he .....well I dont want to spoil the suprise. Anyway it dosent make fun.And if you think it does tell the one scene where it does make fun? It acutally shows people with that disorder as heros.By going that far in bubble. It hardly even focuses about it being awful to be in a bubble. But to try and make it where people in bubbles can be heros! The only reason why critics critisized (forgive me for wrong spelling!) this film is because it wasnt a box office hit.And it was only a box office sunken ship because it wasnt released in many theaters. so it HARDLY got a chance.I saw it a theater whose room it was showing in room where its audio was messed up. I think bubble boy was good. And shouldnt be critisized! BY THE WAY I AM 1 OF THE PEOPLE WHO ALREADY REVIEWED THIS MOVIE.... GUESS. AND IT IS NOT A VIEWER it a name that i use.

Summary: A 'bubble' of laughs!
Review: Sure, it may not be doing too well at the box office, but BUBBLE BOY is a good movie. It is very funny and entertaining. The only reason for all the crude humor in the movie seems added just to get a PG-13 rating. If weren't for all the crude humor [and some language] this would have been the perfect family movie. Though the cast and the music is first-rate, the movie's ending is pretty cheap!

Summary: Edward Scissorhands Meets The Graduate in South Park
Review: This remarkable film, unfortunately, has roused the ire of dunces among the politically correct. But viewed without any vision distorting agenda, it is a gentle, affectionate defense of the different among us. Its "normal" people( the mother and father, the neighborhood teenagers, the Nebraska farmers) are the ones who are threatened by variety, and the principal speakers of slurs and insensitivities directed at the loners and outsiders. The Bubble Boy himself progresses with great charm from boyhood to manhood (not only does he have a scary first ..., but he opts, in traditional masculine fashion, for risk over safety in seeking to follow after his "lost" love). Finally, he becomes, an actual hero, choosing to die for love rather than remain alive in self-preserving isolation. Clearly, his condition of no immunity is presented as a metaphor rather than an intended case history. In his sweetness and male resolve, he becomes surprisingly if amusingly the ideal millenial man. As the Bubble Boy, the handsome yet wonderfully comic, rubber-faced Jake Gyllenhaal is unbeatable. His mother, the wacky Swoozie Kurtz, matches his top-notch performance. This film, because the offended who hear words and ignore contexts have denigrated it, will probably only find its duly large, appreciative audience several years from now.

Review: I thought this movie was funny. I think its more for a younger crowd of people, plus my favorite actor is Jake Gyllenhaal. I'd probably say this movie was way better then Jay and Silent Bob. People thought this movie was lame! Its just like stupid jokes where you might laugh no matter what. Kind of like a Jim Carrey type of comedy. Where its all stupid, but it wasn't all stupid! I liked the ending because it was a surprise ending. I'm 15 yrs old not 12 I just didnt want to bother making an account. hehe
