Summary: Music From Another Room
Review: I finally got my hands on this video from an auction. I first saw this movie in 1998 on a flight from London to NY and loved it! This a great movie for the true romantic. Fate brings these two characters together and a great love story is born. The music in the movie also adds a nice touch, Savage Garden's "Truely, Madly, Deeply" is the title song. If you have a chance to see this movie, watch it, it is a great one!

Summary: We need more fairy tales in our lives ...
Review: I missed the first quarter of the movie today however that did not matter. This is a sincere, sweet, love story that explores the power of a young man's belief in fate and passion. It's fun and funny - I look forward to watching it from the beginning again soon. Jen Tilly is terrific. Savage Garden's ballad fits like your favorite sweater. Have fun !

Summary: Music From Another Room
Review: This movie sneaks up on you. It is wonderfully charming and quirky, with tons of great performances. There are so many well known actors, from Jude Law, Jeremey Piven, Jennifer Tilly, and Brenda Blethyn, that it is hard not to find this movie fun and interesting.

Watching Jude Law's character love Anna(Gretchen Mol) from afar as she carries on with her fiancee is both hopeful and heartwrenching. Though the amazing part of the film is to see how his love for Anna begins affecting all the other people in Anna's family. His love and attention helps the flighty and blind Jennifer Tilly find confidence in herself and then love, this probably one of the most startling examples of his effect on the family. It shows what amazing power that love has over the human soul.

Summary: Funny, original and well acted
Review: This was the most surprising movie I have seen in 1998. I watched it on a plane flight and it really was a highlight. The story is original and funny and the acting of Jennifer Tilly, Jude Law and Brenda Blethyn is superb. I recommend this film highly. It's a shame that the movie hasn't been available on DVD yet. This is truly a gem. Hopefully it will see the light of day on DVD or video soon.

Summary: A Delightful Comic Melodrama for the Whole Family!
Review: This is a nice film with an easy-to-follow plot and trivial love story (destiny versus logic, heart versus mind, etc.) The actors are all good, with some characters providing comic relief when necessary. However, it is true that "the destined pair"(read literally) has very little on screen chemistry, and I must say that Jude Law should not bear any fault for that. As most films of this genre, MFAR is a bit idealistic or very unrealtic(whatever), but that is what you would normally expect from a romantic comedy/melodrama...so that is a good thing!

Summary: cool, and tons of jude law
Review: Jude Law and Gretchen Mol have little chemistry (I blame that on her) but the story does have its cute moments. Jennifer Tilly and Brenda Blethyn provide the movie with more plot advances butthe movie still is a cute romantic comedy. Jude Law give Danny many layers and at the end he is a great romantic hero.

Summary: cute romantic comedy.. plus lots and lots of jude law
Review: The enjoyment in watching this cute romantic comedy is all in the details -- in the growth and relationships between the minor characters -- because it certainly isn't in the "romance" between the two leads. Danny [Jude Law] helps deliver a baby girl [Anna, portrayed by Gretchen Mol] when he's five years old, and promptly declares that he's going to marry her. Twenty-five years later, the passionate and intelligent Danny, by chance, again becomes involved in her life and the life of her family.. and for some reason imagines he's instantly in love with Anna, even though she's a cold, unemotional woman with all the charm and personality of a cold fish. The real romances here are between Anna's blind sister and her Latino boyfriend, Jesus; and between Anna's dying mother and "unromantic" father. There are some touching moments, some forced and hackneyed moments, and some surprisingly well-written and directed moments. Oh, and, um.. lots of Jude Law moments, whom I admit I have a terrible weakness for.

Summary: Romantic/comedy sleeper - a true gem.
Review: This is one of those films that nobody seems to have seen but word of mouth is growing for. Jude Law is his most accessible since Gattaca and gives a beautiful performance. The script is a delightful original. Both Brenda Blethyn and Jennifer Tilly deserved Oscar noms for their supporting performances. This video went out of print within a year of its release so look for it in your local video store to rent. Romantic, funny, extremely touching. Highly recommended.

Summary: charming and sweet
Review: this movie is really good! many people haven't heard of it and I hadn't either when I saw it at the video store, but it is definitely worth watching. The actors play their roles wonderfully. This movie will be a favorite of yours if you are a romantic or believe in love at first sight.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great Romantic comedy that should be on Video
Review: Now that Jude Law has been nominated for an Academy Award, I think the studio that produced this great movie would be wise to release it on video to take advantage of Judes newfound fame
