Summary: Entertaining Night's Viewing but Not a Keeper
Review: This movie is a C+ or B- in actual grade. It was fun for a night but I certainly have no desire to own my own copy of it. Weaver and Hewitt are mother and daughter con artists who do a 1-2 seduction number on wealthy men for lucrative divorce settlements. The movie is being compared to "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" but neither Weaver or Hewitt have the comic talents of Steve Martin and Michael Caine. They also are not at total odds with one another in the story as Martin and Caine were, which gave the Martin-Caine duo more of a comic edge. Liotta and Hackmann are both targets of these two gold diggers. I was never convinced that they were so easily able to trick Liotta who plays a crook himself. Hackmann was more believable as a dupe and had many comedic moments as a tobacco baron who smokes and hacks constantly, seemingly one step away from lung cancer death. It was fun but leaves no lasting impression. Need some featherweight entertainment for the night? This is it.

Summary: THE MOST SATISFYING MOVIE I'VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME!!
Review: I normally would reserve 5 stars for a classic, but movies are so bad these days... to see one that is this good creep out among all the cookie-cutter junk is refreshing. Funny... sexy and moving.

For awhile there I was a little worried for LOVE HEWITT. Movies are so poorly written these days and she seemed to be doing some of the worst ones... or just not necessarily exploring how talented she can be. Finally, a movie that shows how funny, charismatic and appealing she can be.

Heartbreakers is one the most well written comedies to come along in a long time and it is was perfectly cast. Performances were top notch and hilarious around the horn. SIGOURNEY WEAVER as the conniving mother, LOVE HEWITT as the conflicted daughter, GENE HACKMAN as the hacking disgusting cigarette mogul and RAY LIOTTA as the victim/ex-husband/companion.

A well crafted story and great delivery on all of the humor. Seasoned professionals showing their experience and having fun while their at it.

I highly recommened buying the DVD. The extra features are good, with special emphasis put on the gag reel, which had me laughing before I even watched the movie.

Summary: DARLING, but not DARING.
Review: This is a formulamatic movie with loads of charm. Jennifer is classic, stylish and a natural-born comedienne, while Sigourney retains the same classy, timeless beauty that has made her one of Hollywood's most under-appreciated actresses. Many women will identify with the mother-daughter banter. "Heartbreakers" is a great "chick-flick;" don't expect too much and you won't be too disappointed. It's become one of my favorites for it's simplicity, sheer fun and lack of complexity. (The one-liners are worth the watch.)

Summary: Heartbreakers is an eye breaker.
Review: Poor acting and even poorer attempts at humor plague this film from being anything less then just another bad film that we saw plenty of this year.

Summary: Embarassingly bad
Review: This movie should set women's equality back about 50 years...not to mention portraying men as total saps. How do movies like this--with stars the calibre of Sigourney Weaver and Gene Hackman--get made? Even if it's the only movie on a trans-Atlantic flight (which is how I saw it)-- READ A BOOK!

Summary: An embarrassment, especially for usually good actors
Review: What a waste of good talent in a mere shadow of a comedy! The siutation: Wealthy men are supposedly easy pickings for a mother/daughter team who use sex to lure them into a seductive trap and then take off with their money.
The men in this film, played gamely by Ray Liotta and Gene Hackman, are supposed to be lecherous guys who can't resist any attractive female who comes their way, making them easy prey for the mother/daughter team of gold-diggers (played by Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sigourney Weaver). Sorry, but the "attractive female turns drooling guy into total idiot" bit seems a bit lame here, especially since these guys didn't get their money from sheer luck but from using their wits and cunning. And they're going to fall for these two women? Nope, didn't buy that for a minute.
And then there's Jennifer Love Hewitt, who IS attractive and who can be a decent actress - when given the right role. Here she is cynical, cold, calculating and even downright nasty - and yet we are supposed to believe that some poor sap can see past that veneer of hardness to the sweet thing she really is. Even when she makes him wreck his car, even when she is unbearably rude and insulting, even when she shows no shred of sweetness. Uh-uh. Not believable.
Bottom line? Lame script, desperate attempts at humor, overused stereotypes of male and female behavior, all falling flat. Get a clue, Hollywood.

Summary: heartbreakers
Review: This movie is the best movie I have seen in a long time. First of all it is hilarious, and as crazy as it may seem I am sure people have done some of the things they do in this movie to get out of paying for things! I think you should watch it! I want to be like them when I grow up! Just Kidding!

Summary: negative stars not an option here
Review: but if it were, this film would get it.
I have been reading the reviews here, and I just don't understand what people liked about this film! This is one of the worst movies in the history of film making. There was not one funny scene in the entire hour of the movie that I watched, which is just one of the reasons I had to shut if off.
This movie may have some good actors in it, but that doesn't make a good movie. The plot, screenplay, and direction were all completely and unbelievably bad. This film has no redeeming quality as far as I am concerned. I am a woman, so I have interest in watching Love Hewitt and Weaver shimmy all over the screen in tight revealing prostitute wardrobes. They both have nice figures, and that is about all they have going for them in the movie as their acting really stinks in this !!!
What is up with Sigourney Weavers' fake Russian accent? and how stupid do they think men are that Gene Hackman would buy her phony accent? The most pathetic is her meak attempt at singing. I had to change the channel it was so hideously bad. I rented this on Pay per view.
I was told this was a funny movie, but I just don't see what these people I know that saw it found so funny. I didn't laugh once. I just got frustrated and more frustrated as the film went on as it was so awful.
It's a waste of film and time, I say DON'T BOTHER with this one. Put it back on the shelf!!! Trust me!!! I watch a lot of comedies, and this is just not funny.

Summary: Sexy and Enjoyable!
Review: Purty darn entertaining little film here, varmints. Sigourney Weaver looks great in underwear and Jennifer Love Hewitt is a better kisser than I expected. Okay, she's bitchy, but she kisses like she means it. Ray Liotta is terrific as Weaver's horny estranged husband but he just doesn't kiss like he means it. Plot: the two ladies, mom and daughter, spend their lives conning rich men out of thousands and millions of bucks. Gene Hackman plays a disgusting old man who the ladies want to con out of a few mil but they're not that keen on spending "alone" time with this chain-smoking, phlegm-hacking, brown-teethed geezer. Does Jennifer finally fall for a prospective con? Will mom find the path to the straight and narrow? Who cares? They both look great! Women will enjoy the plot while us guys enjoy the scenery.....I know I did.

Summary: Incredibly Funny!
Review: This was a good flick. You may think it's a chick flick.... Maybe it is... But, it is really funny. The dialogue is great. Gene Hackman as an aging tobacco kingpin.... Non stop smoking and hacking.... He played his part perfectly... Sigourney was also great... But the real show stopper was Jennifer Love Hewitt. She is very easy on the eyes...

I think everyone should check this one out.
