Summary: So Funny I Had To Own It
Review: There is no reason that I would ever want this movie on DVD. There is nothing special. A trailer and extra scene... However There was one reason I did buy this on DVD and that is that it was the funniest movie I had ever seen. This is Dark humor and to me there is no better humor.

Summary: danny devito - underpraised genius
Review: this is one of the greatest movies of all time (in my top 5). just as good and better than the hitchcock movie it spoofs. devito is an unsung genius. glad to finally have this one widescreen to appreciate devito's cartoonish and insane vision

Summary: A classic I grew up with
Review: This is one of the movies I saw before I reached 12 in a tiny cinema and I loved it. I then forgot about it until this year when I found I had a copy of it taped from Cable TV in video library, I made some popcorn sat down and watched a very, very funny movie starring Billy Crystal and Danny Devito, and now it's coming to the DVD format.

Throw Momma From The Train is a classic comedy in which an aspiring man Owen (Devito) wishes to kill his mother who treats him bad. He channels his energy into his writing, for which he takes a class led by Billy Crystal, to which he lets him in on the plan to get rid of Momma.

I can't say any more fearing I would spoil this great, great movie for you all, it simply is a must-see, and definately a must own.

A little dissapointing that the DVD doesn't have an Audio Commentary either by Crystal, Devito, or the Director, but nevertheless, at this price, with scene access, crystal (no pun intended) transfer, and something I'm looking forward to: Deleted Scenes, It is really a crime if you don't pick up this title.

It really is funny, and has a place in my heart, so if you have seen it, click add to cart, if you haven't, get down to the video store, rent it, kick back with some popcorn, and prepare to enjoy some of the best comedy the 80's had to offer.

Summary: Oh Comon!
Review: This is the worst DVD transfer I have ever seen! The picture is overly grainy, and way too sharp. Pixelization is too evident, and it makes the film almost un-watchable. This DVD has pretty good features, yes, but the fact is, the deleted scenes and the trailer have better picture quality then the movie. And couldn't they go the extra mile, if the transfer is so bad, to provide the uncensored version? It really looks like the TV version, changing .... into pork. What a waste of my money! MGM really doesn't have good transfers, but the Terminator transfer was pretty outstanding. Movie: 5 stars, DVD: 0 and a half (half for deleted scenes and trailer). I was very disappointed!

Summary: Totally Funny
Review: This movie is totally funny! I did take a star off for the quality because, especially in the begining, the quality is not that great, with lots of black splotchy things. And the sound quality is not that hot either. This was one of my favorite movies as a kid, and if you like dark humour, you will probably like this too! There could have been more special features, but overall an OK DVD.

Summary: One Of The Funniest Movies Ever!
Review: This was such a funny movie. Anne Ramsey was hilarious as the wicked old mother. She was pretty rotten to her son (Danny De Vito). It's got lots of comedy, plus drama, mystery, and suspense. When her son (De Vito) is at the end of his rope with her non-stop critisizing and bickering, he tries to persuade his writing professor to kill her. But when the professor refuses and tells him he's crazy, (De Vito) supposedly kills his extremly hated ex-wife and tells him if he dosen't kill his mother he will tell the police that the professor killed his ex-wife due to a motive and remark he said to her. It's a hilarious, updated version of Hitchcock's "Strangers On A Train". I would highly recommend it. Anne Ramsey was such a great actress. She will be missed.

Summary: You want to make a movie about what?!
Review: THROW MOMMA FROM THE TRAIN tells of a tyrannical mothe, portrayed with despicable perfection by Anne Ramsey, her milquetoast son, Danny DeVito, and the son's teacher, Billy Crystal. DeVito's character, Owen, is finally fed up with being berated, degraded, and chastised, and plots to "arrange an accident' for his mother. He seeks an ally in his teacher, and they plot, with hilarious ineptitude and pratfalls aplenty.

This movie is not for everyone, but, for those who don't mind comedy with an edge to it, this one is a riot.

Summary: This Movie ...
Review: What is the deal with this movie? Its ... beyond all belief! The plot is dumb and predictable, and its just stupid all the way around!

I have a fine appreciation for the work of Billy Crystal and Danny DeVito, but this movie has absolutely no redeeming qualities. Very Stupid. Very unimpressive. I couldn't not reccomend it more.

Summary: NO Comedy Greater
