Summary: Adam Sandler Is LITTLE NICKY
Review: In the comedy LITTLE NICKY, Adam Sandler plays Nicky, a heavy metal rock fan who also happens to be the son of the devil. When it is announced that his father will not give up the throne and continue to rule hell for the next 10,000 years, Nicky's evil brothers go up to Earth to steal human souls and generally create hell on earth. Now, Nicky is charged with the task of bringing both of his brothers back to hell in order to restore the balance between good and evil all over the world and to save his father from rapidly decomposing. This movie is totally halarious with alot of perverted humor thrown in for good measure and it actually helps the story move along. Also includes cameo appearences by Rodney Dangerfield, Kevin Nealon, Reese Witherspoon, Jon Lovitz, Dana Carvey, and Ozzy Osbourne. The DVD edition of this film contains special features such as the theatrical trailer for the film, a behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of the film, an excellent documentary on heavy metal music, and a halarious commentary track.

Review: I saw this movie for my birthday last year and it was everything I expected it to be. He was the one that has started it all and is still doin it. This is one of his "Happy Madison" movies (Adam Sandler's Movie Company). Happy Madison has made Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo, Joe Dirt, and The Animal. All of his movies has a certain kick to it, and Little Nicky does. When you really watch it, you can tell they really had a lot of fun making it. All of the scenes are really funny. I think the chemistry between Nicky(Sandler) and Valerie(Arquette) was quite terrible, she didn't fit the roll. Though all of the humour made up for it's lack. As for the DVD itself, it was spectacular. First it has 21 deleted scenes and an alternate ending. Feature length commentary by Sandler director Steven Brill and Co-Writer Tim Herlihy. Also another commentary by the cast featuring Michael McKean, Jon Lovitz, Kevin Nealon, Henry Winkler, Ozzy Osbourne, and many more. A special look behind the film "Adam Sandler Goes to Hell". "Satan's Top 40", a look at hard rock music with on camera interviews with Ozzy Osbourne, Gene Simmons, Ronnie James Dio, and others. POD's music video "School of Hard Knocks" which was the openeing song on the opening credits(kick...song). Cast & Crew Filmographies, and theatrical trailer. If you have a computer the DVD-ROM features are quite all right as well. A Script-To-Screen which allows you to read the original script while watching the film. I was quite suprised at how much they changed the movie as they filmed it. Also the Orignal Website will be available to check out on the DVD. There are also some DVD easter eggs on the DVD. One is a theatrical trailer for Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship Of The Ring. To check it out, all you gotta do is go to the special features menu, and just keep scrolling until a halo appears above Nicky's head. Over all I think this is a must buy for any Adam Sandler fan. I was happy to see many bonus features that should have been on his previous films DVD's. Though you should buy his original classics first. One of the best!

Summary: A Little Nicky goes a long way
Review: I first watched Little Nicky on DVD in September. It was very funny, and the bonus material was fun too, even though the DVD menu was a little hard to follow. Then it came on one of the cable movie channels, and it was in rotation every minute. It grew on me each time. There was a very nice explanation for Heaven and Hell, and it was from the works of Adam Sandler. ... "You're such a nice looking boy. You shouldn't hide your face." Every person in Hell gets his come-uppance, in one way or another. Seeing a Harlem Globetrotters game go awry is a site itself. Two things I didn't understand though. One, the two heavy meddlers hanging around Nicky. Why? Wouldn't they rather hang around with the two evil brothers than Nicky? 2. The homosexual roommate or not homosexual roommate. He kept denying it. Was he a real life Ambiguously Gay Duo guy? No biggie, just irritating. Sandler seems to have a problem with the "Gay" issue. See "Big Daddy" for further examples. Overall, this was a bright happy Devil in New York movie. Reese Witherspoon is a delight in a pre-cursor of her "Legally Blonde" character. Henry Winkler is trooper as "Henry Winkler". Ozzy is Ozzy, using his trait, as a Bat-Biter to it's full potential. BTW, this is the 3rd great character performance by Rhys Ifan as Adrian, the smart evil brother. See, "The Replacements" and "Notting Hill", for the other two. Patricia Arquette is wasted though, as Nicky's girlfriend. The best cameo joke was Clint Howard as Nipples. The nipple rubbing man. A while ago, a friend of mine used to watch multiple repeats of movies on cable movie channels, and he remembers the movies with twinge of nostalgia. I think I'll feel the same way, in 15 years, when Little Nick is on A and E or American Movie Classics. Check it out and don't be caught by any horny birds. See Jon Lovitz for details.

Summary: The best Sandler Movie.
Review: This movie Rules! I can't say enough good things about it! It puts Rodney Dangerfield, Ozzy Osbourne,Quentin Tarrentino and Henry Winkler in the same movie. Sandler makes a very convincing metalhead. Hilarious from start to finish. Great soundtrack, really helps out the movie. All of the usual faces from Sandler films are here. The special features are great too. Satan's top forty is a good intro for non fans of metal, but provides us metalheads with nothing new. The film documentary is way cool, and the commentaries are hilarious, overall just a great DVD.

Summary: I really didn't know they made movies that were this awful
Review: I thought Sandler's "Mr. Deeds" and "Happy Gilmore" were awfully stupid movies, but then I had the misfortune to sit through "Little Nicky." I realize now that "Mr. Deeds" & "Happy Gilmore," by comparison, were absolute artistic masterpieces. My God, how does a movie as uniformly awful manage to get past even the executives that approve a script for production? It just boggles the mind how bad this was, on every level. How respectable actors such as Harvey Keitel could associate themselves with this cinematic vomit is also mind-boggling. This was a truly painful movie to sit through, and is angling for a spot on my hallowed list of 10 All-Time Worst Movies (alongside Mannequin & Baby Geniuses). I still feel the nausea induced by this garbage.

Summary: Highly entertaining in its own twisted, moronic way
Review: While I've always thought that Adam Sandler's best work was in his "Saturday Night Live" appearances, his movies can be very funny and entertaining as well. Out of all the ones I've seen with him, "Little Nicky" remains my favorite. I think those who despise this movie might have had their expectations too high. Let's face it, a movie with Adam Sandler won't win any Academy Award. But sometimes we just want to put our brains on neutral and watch a mindless flick. "Little Nicky" fits the bill perfectly. Sandler plays one of three brothers, all sons of the devil. When his two siblings escape from Hell and start causing a commotion on Earth, Sandler is sent to try to fix things up. I can't really put my finger on what exactly makes this movie work, but perhaps it's the way the humor is delivered. Often crude, moronic and tasteless perhaps, and it certainly won't be everyone's cup of tea, but take it for what it is. Not every joke works but those that do provide some very funny moments. The special effects are quite well done, adding to the gags and emphasizing them in an even more silly fashion. There are also many cameos, among them Harvey Keitel, Rodney Dangerfield, Reese Witherspoon and Ozzy Osbourne. While each has a somewhat limited screen time, they all add their own unique humor to the movie. Sandler's speech impediment can get a little irritating and doesn't really serve a purpose nor does it contribute to the movie's plot, but that eventually gets lost in the midst of all the funny stuff going on. Another cool thing worth mentioning is the great interactive menus. You'll have a lot of fun surfing through the different options, although it does get a little old after a few times. The bonus features are also noteworthy. There are deleted scenes, two commentaries, P.O.D.'s music video and other goodies. For those of you who have a DVD drive on your computer, there's some exclusive DVD-Rom features. This disc is definitely loaded. All in all a recommended purchase for any Adam Sandler fan.

Summary: Delightfully Low-Brow
Review: This is one of the worst movies you'll ever love. Adam Sandler plays his stock character, that loveable loser that gets the girl and finally makes good, but this time with a little different twist. Here, he's the "good" son of Satan, and he's on a mission to keep his other two brothers from deposing his beloved father and taking over hell. Replete with raunchy humor, great actors/cameos (Ozzy Osbourn, Rodney Dangerfield, Henry Winkler, Rob Schneider, Reese Witherspoon, Jon Lovitz, Quentin Tarentino), and the worst speech impediment you'll ever hear, "Little Nicky" should keep you laughing for most of the film. There are, of course, glaringly unfunny moments, but overall it is surprisingly entertaining. I put off watching this one for quite awhile because it just looked so awful, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Fans of Adam Sandler should love it, and those who appreciate some low-brow politically incorrect humor will find lots here to enjoy.
