Rating: Summary: I like it Review: When I watched the first 15-20 minutes, I rolled my eyes and thought man what kind of a movie is this and shut it off. However, I decided to start all over and watch the whole movie. I'm glad I did. Jim Carrey as you already know is Bruce Nolan (T.V. news reporter), his girlfriend is Grace (jennifer aiston), God (Morgan Freeman). Bruce starts off the movie on shaky grounds. His career was hitting rock bottom and Evan a guy he disliked w/ a passion was getting his stories picked over his. Bruce was desperately trying to get a good story in for sweeps week. He needs up assisting a guy for the anniversary of Niagria Falls. He was excited until he saw that Evan had got the anchor job. He is ticked off and goes off the deep end on the air by yelling and cursing at everyone and ends up getting fired. If that's not bad enough, he gets beat up by a puerto rican gang. Although things were looking really bad for Bruce, Grace trys to console him but it didn't work. Bruce then decides to go for a drive and starts blaming god for his problems and tries to search for answers, then his beeper starts going off with a 555-0123 number. He tries to ignore it but during the day the beeper kept going off with the same number. He decides to call the number and he discovers that he is being offered a job. Bruce goes to this building that he was told to be at and God shows up and tells bruce who he is. Bruce laughs at him but God started revealing some of bruce's things that have occured in his life. Anyway, God tells bruce that if he thinks he can do his job then he will give him his powers under 2 conditions: 1. don't tell anyone about it and 2. you can't mess with free will. Bruce starts noticing changes as he can walk on water and by moving his hands he push all the cars out of the way in a traffic jam. Bruce uses these powers to his advantage by ruining Evan's anchor position, developing his own exclusive stories, and getting back at the puerto rican clique for their actions. Bruce's life was looking good as he was getting everything he wanted but what he fails to do is help out others who are in need. Bruce starts hearing loud voices in his heads and God tells him that these voices are prayers that need to be answered. He goes to his computer and looks to see how many prayers could he possibly have, when he saw the results, he started to find out how difficult it is to be God. Another problem was his relationship with Grace was crumbling. Bruce trys to use his given powers to get Grace to 4 give him, but it wasn't working then he tries to violate one of the rules he was given (the free will one). In addition to this, the world starts to crumble as there was chaos everywhere he looked. He return to the building to ask God for help, God then reveals some insight to Bruce that everyone wants him to use his power to do things for them, but what they don't know is that they've got the power. He challenges Bruce to be a miracle to the world. Bruce then uses his powers to correct the wrongs he made at the beginning, he helps fix a guy's car, he reconcils with Evan and gives him his anchor job back as he returns to reporting. However, his relationship with Grace wasn't improving. He discovered that Grace has been praying and most of her prayers have been for him, but he listens in on her recent prayer and heard her tell God to get rid of Bruce for what the heartache he's caused her. Bruce then walks out on the streets and surrender his life over to God which leads to him getting rid by a truck driver and dies. He meets God and God asks him to pray and he prays for Grace to be happy and to find a man to make that happen. Bruce get another chance at life and gets Grace back. Despite what the critics say, this is a good movie with great acting from everyone involved and even though there is some typical obnoxious humor it's got a strong message. highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: one funny movie Review: This movei was the funniest movie i have seen this month. What i like about this movie is that it is fuuny and good to watch. I thing that jim carrey and morgan freeman was a good acter. I thing that the sound was awsome and i liked how they walked on waters and how jim and seven fingers. What i didn't undersand was why the old man that was poor standing there holding the sign's and why jim didn't help him when he was the god. And what i didn't understnd was that how everyone was going out of control and why jim didn't use some kind of magic tric to undo his problems.

Rating: Summary: This movie was great! and funny! Review: This is a great family movie. There are alot of laughs. I have this movie and I love it. It was great!!!!! You should get this movie too. I saw this movie in theaters and thought it was pretty good? Then I watched it again and I could understand it more. The main lead in this movie was Jim Cary. That was fine with me. This is one of those movies that never gets boring!
Rating: Summary: Milk and Cookies for Everyone! Review: This has to be the best Jim Carrey movie I have seen yet. Some scenes are a bit too outrageous (of course, that's Jim Carrey for you), but on the whole it is enjoyable to watch. A reporter who is tired of being passed over for promotion and basically being spat upon by life tells God he could do a much better job with his powers. Sometimes you get what you asked for. But, as Jim Carrey's character "Bruce" finds out, maybe it isn't really what you want. From the hilarious beginning with Jim Carrey running around, splashing milk on those waiting for a piece of gigantic cookie (surely one of the funniest moments on film) to the "parting of the red sea" (or is that tomato soup?), this movie is full of laughs. It also has an understated message that was refreshing: sometimes you already are where you need to be.
Rating: Summary: Not Even Filmed in Buffalo Review: I thought that this movie was ok, but I live in Buffalo, NY and I was sadly dissapointed that really the only Buffalo reference was Channel 7, they used a few landscape pictures from Buffalo, but none of the actors were in any scenes that showed the true Buffalo. If you're looking for a good movie that really takes place in Buffalo, I reccomend "Mana From Heaven" a very cute and funny movie thats really about Buffalo, it stars many famous actors including the woman who played Tattie on State of Grace!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: My all-time favorite movie. Review: This movie is about a man named Bruce Nolan who gets angery with God and says that even he could do it better. God says yes. So, Bruce Nolan gets to be God's right hand man, but he's not perfect, thus, hialrity ensues. I am a devoted Chrisdtians and I can tell u that this movie is reverent and respectful, while at the same time being hilarious and otragous. I think my favorite scene was the last scene where Bruce is making all those jokes. Overall I would recommend this movie to fellow religous people like muyself, who want a Christian movie, and non-religouys people who just want a good laugh.
Rating: Summary: cute, good message Review: I liked this movie. It was humorous, and it had a great message to it. I found myself feeling like Bruce, and I think most people can. Life can have it's negativities, that is for sure.
Rating: Summary: A light-weight movie worth watching! Review: Very entertaining movie - no disappointments from the movie or the star - Jim Carrey. Best was Morgan Freeman to Jim Carrey on top of Mount Everest - "where are we, you got to flip to Discovery Channel sometimes boy - we are on top of everest' There is lot of spoof from few of the movies like 'The Green Mile', 'Ten Commandments' and 'The Matrix'. I should say Jim Carrey did not have lot of occassions to try his facial movements like he did in 'Liar Liar' or 'The Mask'. But he has done an excellent job. No need to tell anything about Morgan Freeman's acting - Class of his own! A light-weight movie worth watching. For detailed story, read other reviews that discusses in detail.
