Rating: Summary: Danny's deliciously devine in Dragnet! Review: This film is better and funnier the SECOND time you watch it. Tom Hanks and Dabney Coleman are hilarious! But it is ultimately Dan Aykroyd, who delivers in a finely tuned, and expert performance. No one can fire out those straight and long speeches like he can. It's a shame they couldn't of got more extras on this dvd. It would of been great to have had interviews with Tom and Danny or better still, some live commentry from these legends.
Rating: Summary: Dragnet 1987 Review: This is a parody? I call it a mockery of the original tv series. Jack Webb would be spinning in his grave if he saw how his series, his trademark mocked as a comedy! The movie is funny at times, and it only features Harry Morgan reprising his role as Gannon, but the movie is nothing but a mockery to the classic crime series that Jack Webb made.
Rating: Summary: A Spoof of the Television Series Taken to the Next Level... Review: This is NOT and Academy Award winner, so don't expect too much. This box-office flop is perhaps one of the best spoof flicks I've seen, and is full of laughs. You have to be in the mood for a silly adventure comedy, and willing to return to Tom Hanks' first taste of film-acting. He is still one of the funniest men in Hollywood, and this movie uses his comedic talents fully. Dan Aykroyd plays the part of Joe Friday excellently, letting you believe that he could actually be as clean and anal as his character portrays. Have fun, hope it becomes one of your dark favs.
Rating: Summary: Just an opinion, if nobody minds Review: With all due respect to the legend Jack Webb and the television series that spawned this movie, the not-always-easy-to-achieve comic chemistry in this movie makes it a delightful diversion, and a must for the home viewing collection. SNL veteran Dan Akroyd does the deadpan Friday with consummate skill, and the rookie Tom Hanks is a fox with great timing and an unbelievable career in his future.
