Summary: Cute, but Cheesy
Review: This movie was cute, yet sickening at the same time. It reminds me of an "attempted" funny version of Never Been Kissed.

The movie is about a geeky schoolgirl who has never "hollywood" kissed a boy. She decides that the only way to kiss a boy is to act like the actors/actresses in the movies.

In the beginning, I thought the movie was hilarious. By the end of the movie, I was pretty disappointed. The type of humor in the movie does not change; there is a weak plot in the movie at best. I will say the kid with the birthmark actually caught me off guard though.

This movie isn't a bad movie if you feel you must see it; however, there are a lot of better movies out there to rent or buy.

Summary: Feature length SNL show -- thin on plot, not thaaaaat funny!
Review: Molly Shannon is a talented member of the current SNL cast, but "Superstar" proves that talent alone can't sustain a feature length "skit". This is no "Wayne's World" (they at least had a plot and script that kept an audience intrested). If I see Mary Catherine Galagher do that stupid armpit thing one more time...pleeeeeeease tell me I'm not the only one who's sick of that stupid joke?

Summary: I am not a buisness women! I am a SUPERSTAR!
Review: This movie is SO funny. I couldn't stop laughing. Molly Shannon is in great shape, and she is a great actress. She makes Mary Katherine Gallegher, a very fun character. And she makes us realize that if you really go for your dreams it comes true, like she " became a SUPERSTAR" and finally kissed Sky Corrigan (..._doesn't desearve her) The movie is great! Totally watch it! "When I get nervous, I stick my hands under my arm pits, and smell like THIS"

Summary: Dreams can come true you know

Summary: Watch this movie with an open mind ...
Review: If you like fun, wacky movies that just take you away, this could be the film for you. It has a lot of great one liners and some great physical comedy.

Molly Shannon gives a great comedic performance in the role of Mary Katherine Gallagher. She has some great monolouges, especially when she recites famous movie dialouge from "Sybil" and "Portrait of a Teenage Centerfold".

The only irritating thing is this movie is Will Ferrel. His portrayl of Mary's concious, or "God" is a little grating.

Elaine Hendrix is great as "Evian".

If you want a good laugh, and are a fan of wacky comedy, you'll enjoy this movie!

Summary: Made-for-television movies rock
Review: This is one of those kooky movies which are undeniably fun. I love watching Molly Shannon in Saturday Night Live, so I was prepared for the strangeness of this movie.

It features 35-year olds as Catholic school kids dressed in school uniforms. Its not a kinky dress-up thing either! Will Ferrell is excellent as the "hunky" guy in school who Mary Katherine wants to share her first snog with. (He does double duty, also playing the role of God)It's great when she quotes monologues from 'made for tv movies' and when she does the robot dance.

I don't know what I'd think if I hadnt been watching SNL for the past 18 months, but I probably would've been repulsed! This humour is definitely an acquired taste. But I know Molly so I'm fine. Go Molly!

Summary: U HAVE GOT TO SEE THIS ONE!
Review: I loved this movie. I know this isn't for everyone just people who like to watch stupid movies. It's the same kind of dumb humour as Austin Powers except this humour isn't undelying. I thought all the jokes were very funny! My favourite scene is when Evian and Mary fight and I love Tom Green's appearances. This is a funny movie for people who enjoy stupid funny humour.

Summary: It stinks
Review: This is by far, the worst movie of the year. Not only was the acting bad, but the plot is horrible, and it's not funny! I maybe chuckled every half hour or so, but afterwards I felt like an idiot because it was so stupid! Please give SNL a hint and never, ever get this movie!

Summary: Super-Stardom for Molly Shannon
Review: I enjoyed the movie Superstar because it related a lot of it's context to real life. That, and it was extremely funny. The actors were well chosen, and Molly Shannon's performance was just to die for. As for Sister Mary Cathrine....well, let's focus on the movie itself. It was a great movie, and I would recommend it to everyone who has a sense of humor! (Sorry, but all you meanies out there wouldn't like it!)

Summary: Bearable..
Review: This movie about Mary (Molly S. from SNL) is kinda plain but it IS bearable..you can sit through it,if ya wanted. It's about Mary praying and dreaming of being a "SuperStar!" by dancing and just plain fitting in. She has a crush on the most-popular guy at school,Skye, who is popular for being the best dancer, which he clearly is not. Mary gets put in a 'Special' class where she meets her best friend. What i really liked about this was that Tom Green is in it and he acts the same as he does now. I would recommend this for a movie to watch when you are looking for a few slight laughs. If you like SNL,then you might like this.
