Rating: Summary: Just good old fashioned entertainment Review: Imagine, a fun film about a family which the entire family can watch.
Rating: Summary: A documentary Review: My wife is Greek. This movie is a documentary. I knew everyone in the movie. We were obnoxious in the movie because we started laughing as they were setting up the joke. We knew the punch line because we lived it. The characters and situations were so true to life that it was like looking at home movies of our wedding and others we have attended. This movie was exceptionally well done. Everyone should see it.
Rating: Summary: Big Fat Greek POS Review: God, what a horrible movie; close to two hours cringing in my chair. Not funny, not a likable character in sight, and nearly 120 minutes on wedding mishaps, although I was numb after the first fifteen.Does Lanie Kazan get all the big fat stereotypical ethnic mother roles in Hollywood? Her agents should decide whether she's a big fat Greek mother or a big fat Jewish mother already! I made my girlfriend promise that if we ever happen upon another turkey like this one in our moviegoing lives, we will immediately go to the nearest Schwartzenegger or Snipes flick so I can wash the foul taste out of my brain!
Rating: Summary: Gotta love it!! Review: This was such a great movie. I couldn't stop laughing. Having been raised in the NYC area, I could really relate to a lot of the families. Hope there are more like this around!!
Rating: Summary: A great movie, definitely five stars Review: If you ever get a change to see 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding', take it! There were a lot of great movies in 2002, and this is one of the best, with it being original, funny (with the humour being suitable for most young children), it is a must-see movie. Toula Portokalos (Nia Vardalos) is a Greek woman in her 30's living in America with her family. All of her family are Greek, with 27 Greek cousins, and she is expected to marry a Greek man and have several children, but she meets and falls in love with an American, Ian Miller (John Corbett), and they get engaged, and her family are not happy about it. It is a great movie that everyone will enjoy, and I can't wait for the sequel, 'My Big Fat Greek Life', coming out later this year.
Rating: Summary: I don't see the BIG FAT deal! Review: Although I thought it a v. cute movie/story, I don't see what all the hullabaloo was/is about. Nothing spectacular or wonderous happens.
Rating: Summary: "What you mean he don't eat no MEAT???" Review: You must be 'brain dead' or a corpse if you think this movie deserves one or two stars! For a low budget, indie film (by today's standards), it is a winner a thousandfold! I am Italian/Greek-American, and could TOTALLY relate to the 'ethnicity factor' here. The way the Portokalos family was portrayed is, to an extent, very accurate of a lot of ethnic families, mine included! But of course this is just a movie, and not supposed to be totally accurate. That said, to some of the Greeks posting here who think that this is not an accurate portrayal of Greek-Americans, may I clue you in that this is NOT a documentary... it is a comedy! So don't take yourselves that seriously. After all, many Italian-Americans know that 'The Sopranos' is just entertainment as well. Rent or own this movie now... it is a LAUGH RIOT!!! And god knows we all need a little more comedy in these tough, scary times!

Rating: Summary: All you need is WINDEX Review: The best parts of this movie are the references to WINDEX. Other than that, I really didn't laugh that much. And I'm a chick!
