Rating: Summary: Comedy at its best--The Adam Sandler Way Review: Another classic comedy from the master himself. Watch as this failed hockey player turns his dynamite slapshot into a four-hundered-yard golf drive. Sandler's character has to deal with a number of problems including his volatile temper, an overinflated golf pro, the IRS, and his love for a beautiful member of the PGA's staff. It's laugh-out-load, rolling-on-the-floor comedy for any fan of the many SNL cast members. (If you like this one try seeing Billy Madison of The Water Boy)
Rating: Summary: If You Want To Die Laughing.... Review: Look no further, this has got to be one of the most funny movies ever made! Adam Sandler plays Happy Gilmore who loves Hockey but can't play it, hates golf but is quite good at it! He has to earn 250,000$ in three months in order to save his grandmother's house from being taken by the IRS. However there are many many funny events that take place in these 3 months: including a classic scene where Happy Gilmore has a fight with Bob Barker, Happy standing in front of a pitching machine to get tougher, and when he takes a slapshot and shoots his mentors (carl weathers) wooden hand 40 feet down the road! With an enjoyable but strange cast including (Christopher McDonald, Ben Stiller, Carl Weathers, Kevin Nealon, and best of all Bob Barker) this is one you will watch again and again, golf never ever seemed so enjoyable until I watched this movie! Rating: Summary: Wow! Sandler at his finest, "the price is wrong, Bob!" ha ha Review: On par with Caddyshack. Adam Sandler has really done an exellent job. Any guy and some girls will love this movie. Guarunteed to make a group laugh heavily. The golf course brawl between Happy G. and Bob Barker is priceless (get it, ha! ha! ha!) And casting Appollo Creed as Happy's one handed golf coach adds such a nice touch of comedic irony. This is up there with Austin powers. Buy this movie and watch it over and over again. END
Rating: Summary: Needs to also Have a Widscreen DVD! Not Just Pan and Scan!!! Review: Happy Gilmore is a very funny movie and one of my favorite Adam Sandler movies! One question I have is how come you can watch a trailer for Happy Gilmore on the Billy Madison DVD and the trailer is shown in widescreen but they opted to use the cropped pan and scan format for Happy Gilmore on it's own DVD? That is my only complaint about this DVD and if a widescreen DVD ever becomes available I will buy it and either sell trade or give away or my pan and scan DVD!
Rating: Summary: A modern-day 'Caddyshack' Review: This movie will have you grabbing your sides and gasping for air. Adam Sandler plays Happy Gilmore, a lowclass guy trying to win money for his grandma through his newly discovered talent of hitting the ball faaaaaaaaaaar in golf. His putting is horrible though. And like any comedy, there must be a rival. A proffesional golfer who feels Happy is an insult to the Golfing industry tries to keep Happy from winning so that he himself can win. This movie is like a modern version of Caddyshack, and great for the whole family.
Rating: Summary: I don't think your lungs can handle this kind of laughter... Review: You're looking for a comedy on DVD. Let's see... You don't want any comedy that's too sophisticated, like "Deconstructing Harry". You don't want any comedy that's too insane, like "There's Something About Mary". You JUST want to laugh. I'm proud to say "Happy Gilmore" will make you scream with laughter, my friend. This is Adam Sandler's platinum hit, the best comedy of his career. It has the coveted Amazon.com five-star customer rating, a rare find indeed for the comedy lover, and reviewers call it "the best golf comedy since 'Caddyshack'". The movie stars Adam Sandler (Bulletproof, The Wedding Singer, Billy Madison) as Happy Gilmore, a short-fused hockey player who just realized he AGAIN didn't make the cut for his hockey team for the 10th time in a row. After taking out his raging anger on the coach, he life begins to spiral downwards when his girlfriend leaves him, and he realizes his grandmother's prized house built by his grandfather's bare hands if about to be seized by the IRS in 90 days due to her failure to pay taxes in over a decade. But when he discovers his monster hockey slapshot equals one hell of a talent in golf, he is talked into playing golf by a local retired golfer, Chubbs Peterson, for the money to reclaim his grandma's house. But not only is Happy not ready for golf, but the president of the Pro Tour, Doug Thompson, doesn't think golf is ready for Happy! Even his future golf enemy, Shooter McGavin, thinks he's making a mockery of golf with his very bad temper and his rambunctious behavior. But Happy is a hit with fans, so he's weaved himself through the loophole...for now. For a shining moment he's riding on Cloud 9-iron, but Shooter McGavin, and the accidental death of his beloved mentor Chubbs, are threatening to take away not only his grandmother's house, but his dream as well, and it's not just about his grandma's house anymore...it's about triumph. So, if you love simple comedy, get Happy Gilmore on DVD. You'll fall down laughing....guaranteed!
Rating: Summary: ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: I love this movie. It is HILARIOUS. I think it is one of the best movies ever made in history!!!
I laughed all the way from the beggining to the end of the movie. I think SANDLER is one of the best actors EVER.
He is very talented. I suggest you watch this movie, I'm not gonna tell you what the movie is all about or I will spoil it, just go and watch this one anywhere and anyhow.
If you're on the comedy type of movies (I am more of a suspense movie fan), then this one is perfect for you. Go and watch this one NOW!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Not as happy as I would like Review: This sports comedy is entirely too typical in most respects, with an embarrassingly bad subplot involving a former golf great and an alligator. But many of the gags are pretty funny, and there is some real humor in a blue collar hockey player forced to deal with the elite golfing world. The comeuppance for the cartoonish bad guy is cringe-inducing, looking like it came right out of the early eighties. But there are enough funnies to keep my interest.
Rating: Summary: This movie is very good and funny! Review: I thought this movie was very funny, good, and had great actors!
Adam Sandler is Happy Gilmore in this funny golf comedy just like "Caddyshack" and he loves playing hocky, but he doesn`t quite understand that he`s not that good at all!It all starts when somebody from Jesse`s Moving Company bets him $40.00 if he can hit a golf ball farther than he can and Happy surprisingly shoots it much, much farther and win`s the bet!He thinks if he goes betting other people for more money,he might can get enough to get his Grandmothers house back, since she got it taken away from her because she hadn`t payed her taxes in over a Decade because she didn`t have any money! While practicing and betting,a man named Chubbs see`s him and meets him at the ball shooter cage and tells him that he will give him lessons to get better at golf for free and that he could be in the Annual Golf Tour and get really big bucks!Happy firstly refuses and is about to drive away when he looks at a picture of Grandma in his car,and backs up and says,"Hey,Chubbs! What kinda big bucks?"and that is where he starts to plat lot`s more golf and tries out for the Tour!I will not tell you any more because I don`t want to spoil anything, but if you want to find out if he win`s and gets the house back, buy this on DVD or Video!
Rating: Summary: Adam's Funniest Movie Review: Like other comics before him, Adam Sandler feels he has to break away from his slapstick roots and become a great actor. If "Punch Drunk Love" is any indication go back to slapstick, Adam. You are funny and charming and that works for you. Gilmore is such a movie that showcases Adam at his best. Great cameos by Richard Keil, and especially Bob Barker make this the funniest golf movie since "Caddyshack." A gem of a movie.
