Summary: Very enjoyable and highly recommended
Review: Like many of the other reviewers I saw this movie in the early to mid 90's on either Showtime or HBO and really enjoyed it which is a little odd because normally I watch really dark comedies or horror movies. I probably liked it so much because it brought back memories of being at Boy Scout camp and borrowing the canoes to paddle over to the Girl Scout camp across the lake at night. I won't go into the plot because it's already been covered very well by the other reviewers. I will say that fans of horror movies might be interested that Sam Raimi of Evil Dead fame makes an appearance in the movie as the handyman Stick which is fitting since the first 2 Evil Dead movies contained references to Camp Tamakwa.

Summary: Love It
Review: Love it, love it, love it, this is a great movie. One that I watch over and over, and it still makes me laugh out loud :-> This is an excellent cast ensemble, leaves you wanting more!

Summary: Widescreen, not fullscreen
Review: My DVD copy (ISBN #0-7888-3699-4) plays Widescreen: a letterbox with black bars on the top and bottom. The DVD cover says in one place, "Fullscreen (1.33:1)" and in another, "This film has been modified from its original version. It has been formatted to fit your TV", but it's not true. Don't know the real aspect ratio, but it's certainly not Pan-N-Scan. How odd, and welcome in my case.
Gentle, warm and well made. A film that does not rely on grenades to advance the plot.

Summary: An all time favorite
Review: My husband and I have a handful of DVD's that we watch over and over - this is one of our favorites! If you ever went to camp as a kid, you'll love this movie - you'll also wish you went to THIS camp! Enjoy it over and over and over.

Summary: Watch this movie.
Review: Sam Raimi. That's reason enough to see this movie over and over. He channels the Three Stooges in this one and had me laughing out loud.

Summary: Fantastic movie
Review: This is a fantastic movie, with a fantastic cast! The characters are lovable, endearing and have depth. For anyone who has gone to camp, this is a must see. Diane Lane does a great job, as do the rest of this magical cast. For those who have not gone to camp, it's a great adult adventure from the point of view of those of us who have grown up without realizing it.

Summary: A must see movie for anyone who ever went to camp!
Review: This is a movie that takes you back to the memories of your youth and the great experiances associated with summer camp. It is an extremely funny, touching and vivid journey to times that I am sure we all wish at some time in our adult lives we could go back to visit. The cast is nothing short of outstanding and a joy to watch.

Summary: Great Cast & Great Story
Review: This is definitely a feel good movie. One of the best I've seen in a long time. If you liked the Big Chill watch this one.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Indian Summer
Review: This is one of the best "feel good" movies. It's about people returning to their summer camp as adults instead of children. And working on their now adult problems. And showcasing who they really are. It's excellent acting, on all fronts. Alan Arkin is wonderful.

If you're looking for good, relaxing fun, this is it.
