Summary: Waste of time!
Review: I just saw this movie, and was pretty disapointed. It wasn't half as funny as I thought it would be. I only laughed a few times. I thought that Dr. Evil was pretty funny, though.

Summary: Shag-tastic, baby, yeah!
Review: This is one great movie. It is so damn funny. However, the first time I saw it was in the States. I thought it was great, but something felt wrong about it. Then I went back home (to Ireland) and saw it again, and discovered many scenes which were cut from the American version.

Why the hell were they cut? Some of them are amoung the funniest parts of the movie ("Nobody ever thinks of a henchman's family..." and Christian Slater's hypnosis). And they really make the movie feel more complete.

So if you liked the movie, sell your soul, if needs be, to get a European version and a means to play it.

P.S. I'm now in the States again and have seen "The Spy Who Shagged Me". It's really funny, probably funnier than the first one. I can't wait to get back home again to see the European version for any extra clips...

Summary: Absoulutely hilarious!
Review: "Austin Powers" is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen! My favorite scene will always be the one where Tom Arnold looks in the bathroom stall and asks Austin Powers, "What did you eat?!". Mike Myers is a comic genius! I like "The Spy Who Shagged Me" a little more, but this was still great. Unfortunately for laserdisc, DVD, and VHS owners of "Austin Powers", you are not quite getting all of the picture. It was shot in 2.35:1, but was presented on tape in the aspect ratio of 1.90. Why this is, I do not know. The same thing happened to me when I bought a used copy of "The Lost Boys" on laserdisc. It was shot in 2.35:1, but coincidently, was also matted at 1.90. Oh, well. It doesn't take away from the hilarity factor. But when they say it's in widescreen, they should give us ALL of the widescreen.

Summary: I'd give it five stars!
Review: This is one of the funniest movies ever

Summary: GREAT!!
Review: If you think this movie is a waste of time, you haven't been watching this properly (and, refering to the "yellow-toothed farts" comment, not all of us are dirty and disgusting. We're just interested in some innocent fun, unlike SOME people) This movie is uproariously funny and should be watched by all (P.S just check you brush your teeth. You don't want to be a "yellow-toothed fart" HINT HINT.

Summary: Not as good as the European version.
Review: I can't believe that only one other person has noticed that the US version of the movie is much shorter than the version that the rest of the world got to see. There are several scenes missing from the region 1 version, a couple of which turn up in the extras menus. However, a scene with Christian Slater in which he gets hypnotised and told to get some "Orange Sheeerbeeeert" is completely missing and nowhere to be seen on the disc. The whole film takes on a disjointed feel as you notice yet another one of your favourite scenes has been chopped. Plus those of you who do battle with your hormones will be missing out on a Hurley nipple shot that has been mysteriously turned into a kind of red blob in the region 1 version. A special edition ought to be using the European cut of the film IMO.

Oh yes, the 2:1 ratio on the packaging is a lie. It's actually 16:9.

Summary: I've never cried so much from laughing
Review: Funniest film I've seen in years except of course the sequel 'The Spy Who Shagged Me' which is equally as funny. The best line in the film was where Austin was walking through a Casino and said to a passerby "there you are", the man said "do I know you?" and Austin replied, "no, but that's where you are ... there" I could go on all day reciting the lines but you'll have to watch it to appreciate it. IT'S A MUST SEE
