Summary: Rated as a comedy
Review: I rated this movie on a scale of comedy movies, not other great films such as Saving Private Ryan, The Matrix, and The Green Mile. Compared to Austin Powers 2 or Happy Gilmore--both of which earned 5 stars ONLY AS COMEDIES--this movie isn't as good, but it's still quite funny. The trailers make this film look terribly unfunny, but it can be a riot. I went with a few friends, and we had so much fun. It's a movie where you can just sit back and enjoy for two hours. You'll laugh a lot at this one, and that's what it's meant to be...stupid and weird, and it does just that. In a few weeks, this movie will be at the budget, I think, but if you and your friends are in the mood for a silly, funny movie, go see Rat Race. You'll be disappointed if you walk in expecting anything more. Recommended. Thanx for reading.

Summary: Uninspired.
Review: There were a few laughs, but in general this movie could be relegated to sophomoric humour. I suppose this could have been discerned from the previews alone, but the movie definitely makes good on being tiresome. By the end, you don't care who the people are, what they're doing...or if anyone wins.

Summary: Do not miss this movie!
Review: This is the first review for Amazon I've ever had the interest in writing. My wife and I saw this movie about a month ago in a free preview screening. We knew nothing about it before we saw it. We thought it was one of the funniest movies we have ever seen and the entire audience was busting out laughing for almost the entire film. The premise as you may know is a modern take on "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World" and everyone involved (John Clease, Jon Lovitz, Whoopie Goldberg, etc.) is hilarous. My in-laws are going right now. I agree with the other reviewer that the trailers on TV do not do this movie justice. Rat Race will not win any Oscars but you will surely leave with a smile on your face!

Summary: Hilarious!
Review: This movie was hilarious! It didn't rely very much on a good story, but was so funny, I wanna go again! It's about a group of people who are on a race to get to a locker full of money! I was surprised to see how many big stars had guest rolls such as Kathy Bates. Mr. Bean definately stole the show! You'll love it! Go see it now!

Summary: Hilarious comedy......!!!!!!!
Review: Rat Race is a hilarious comedy based on a race on eight people trying to find money around the world.I think that Cuba Gooding Jr. was so funny and so different from his other movies that he will really make people laugh.

Summary: Ignore the reviews
Review: I also had seen the trailer for this movie and was "underwhelmed" I went to a preview, and surprise, surprise! My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Very, very funny and well written. Amazingly clever. I very seldom go to movies twice, but I would consider doing so for this film. If you want to laugh out loud over and over-go see this amazingly clever flick.

Summary: Funniest Movie in Last Three Years
Review: Sold Out. American Pie II had been sold out. So I asked the ticket seller what I should see instead ... he recommended Rush Hour 2. My friend had seen it so we took a chance on a preview for a movie entitled Rat Race, thinking that maybe we would sneak into APII. Unfortunately for APII, this title was so much funnier. Fresh humor and a well orchestrated interplay of the hilarious and unique characters that are thrust into an environment motivated by complete selfishness make for the best intelligent comedy that I've seen since, well, I can't remember. Don't watch the preview! The movie is genius and does not recycle jokes from other comedies. I predict awards. Check it out!

Summary: The previews reek but the movie ROCKS!
Review: After seeing the previews, I had *very* low expectations for this movie. A friend who had already bought a ticket for me (without me knowing) dragged me along anyway, and I laughed so hard, I was crying. It's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen--and I've seen a lot of movies! The previews only show the basic premise of the movie (think Cannonball Run) and a few moments taken out of context that just don't do justice to the intricate webs of jokes that turn out to be setups for even more funny moments later.

It has a great cast--Jon Lovits, John Cleese, Whoopi Goldberg, Cuba Gooding Jr., Seth Green, Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean) just to name a few, and they're all at the best I've ever seen them. Sometimes movies with such a cast of well-known and diverse people, they either 1) don't have the chemistry to work well together or 2) each subdue their "type" of comedy to blend in with the others. Neither is the case in this movie. Each member of the cast totally excels at the kind of comedy they're best at. Atkinson has the zany weird thing going, Green has the physical slapstick thing, Lovits has the lovable neurotic thing, Cleese has the "Now for something totally different" thing...

It's also a great family movie. I don't really know why it got the PG-13 rating. There's no bad language, no explicit stuff, very little innuendo, not much violence. There are a few gestures here and there (not of malicious intent; you just have to see it to know what I mean), and it makes fun of Germans, so if you're radically conservative or a very sensitive Jewish person (or German, I suppose), you may be offended.

I can't recommend this movie enough. I'm afraid that because of the poor previews and the been-there-done-that premise, not many people will go to see it, and it may end up being one of the all-time highest underrated movies. Trust me, though, this is *not* an I'll-see-it-on-video-or-cable movie, it's one of the few movies out worth the money to see it in the theater!

Summary: Non stop laughs
Review:

It starts when 6 lucky gamblers win a golden token that is an invitation to participate in a race to Silver City, NM. The prize? 2 million dollars. And best of all, there are NO rules!

Through helicopter, bus, donkey, train, cab, cars, and even hot air balloon the contestants will do anything to get the jackpot. There are so many funny situations that pop up during this race you'll be laughing an hour after the movie is over.

This is definately the funniest movie so far this year...

Summary: Great side-splitting fun!
Review: This movie is a modern twist on the classic "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World." It's great to see a movie that is funny without using gratuitous obscenities or needless sex jokes. There really is something here for everyone...or at least for everyone who likes to laugh so hard they can barely breathe. If you enjoy silly, physical comedy, these folks are the ones to see. It's wonderful, light-hearted summer fun.
