Summary: This Is A Great Movie
Review: I Love this movie. When i was little, i was so excited when it would come on. I love the cast, I love the story, and it keeps me interested. This is an example coming of age movie-if that's what you call them. Any girl can relate to these three females in this family-and if they don't, then they can at least sympathize. And any guy can laugh at this movie with us girls. This is a funny, emotional, and intelligent movie. I'd watch it any time.

Summary: Funny and poignant.
Review: I saw this movie ages ago with my mom. We are both big fans of "Moonstruck." We both loved this movie. The combo of Cher, Winona Ryder, and Christina Ricci is phenomenal. Bob Hoskins is great as Cher's love interest. And the very cute Michael Schoeffling (he of Sixteen Candles fame--at least to us kids of the '80s) as the object of Winona Ryder's affection. Great writing, plot, and characters. These aren't some cartoony, 2 dimensional, cardboard cutouts. These are living, growing characters who hurt each other, love each other, and try to learn to be better sisters, daughters, mothers, and friends. Watch it with your mom.

Review: I was so disappointed to find this video is unavailable. One of the greatest movies ever!!! I've seen it several times and the scene w/ Bob Hoskins and the girls in the re-decorated bedroom is so touching-I cry everytime. I really hope they decide to produce more copies because I would love to own this film! Winona is great in it and so is the guy who played Jake Ryan in Sixteen Candles. Not to mention Christina Ricci!

Summary: Excellant portrayal of mother-daughter dynamics
Review: I, too, could not believe they had stopped production of "Mermaids" video. Cher should have received an Oscar for this role, not MoonStruck! The relationship between her and Winona Ryder was very intense. Society would say the two daughters had a disadvantaged childhood, but did they? What tremendous strength Winona shows in her role by being herself and not her mother. This was not a comedy; it was comedic, but mostly a drama of how a family can still be a family, but not an adjusted one. I really want this video for my collection; I've been looking two years!!
