Summary: It is so great; I know all the comedic lines!
Review: If you have ever gone to the race track or if you enjoy people watching, this is all brought right to you from your tv. You laugh till it hurts. My friend (I guess not a close one anymore) kept my video.

Summary: In each of us is at least a little bit of these folks.
Review: At first I thought this film was potato chips for the mind. I laughed at the excesses.I didn't even know if I liked the characters and I've never been to a horse race. But slowly and surely I found the ensemble winning me over. Dreyfus's big 'L' on his forehead disappeared and reappeared regularly. Johansson(sp?) was an absolute scream. Tilly's character was doing the best she could. God bless Teri Garr's character, she deserves it. Each of the bungled and botched has their day. Let this be yours...buy it.

Summary: Let it Ride is the Best Movie I have ever seen.
Review: Leonard Malton is on crack. This movie is awesome. This movie never gets old. I still watch it a lot. I got a lot of good vibes from this movie. Richard Dreyfuss is funny as hell. So is Looney.

Summary: This is my all-time favorite comedy. The "A" No.1 Best!!!!!
Review: This is an amazing movie that truly captures the excitement and anticipation that causes people to play the ponies. It clearly accomplishes its mission of creating Damon Runyun type characters. Richard Dryfuss, Terri Garr, Jennifer Tilly and the balance of the cast are outstanding. I can't imagine any reason that Nancy Dowd would want to disassociate herself from this film. It is a classic. A must see and have for all horseplayers. Director Joe Pytka has to be proud of this film. It's recommended viewing if you want to experience and enjoy uncontrollable laughter.

Summary: A MUST for any video collection
Review: Leonard Maltin must not have watched the correct movie. I have watched this movie a dozen times and it keeps getting better. Richard Dreyfus and the rest of the cast are great.

Summary: Side Splitting Laughter
Review: The first time I saw this movie I laughed. Dreyfuss is funny and endearing. The ensemble cast rounds out the comedy. The second time I saw this movie, I laughed even more. There seems to be something new with each additional viewing. If you are a fan of subtle humor, and have ever spent a day at the track, then this film is for you.

Summary: watch it more than once
Review: my buddies and i watched this as our cult classic. i've seen it about a million times, half of them so drunk i could barely see. but, every time i watch this movie, i see something new. keep your eyes peeled for lots of sight gags. This is a funny, spirited movie about a down on his luck loser...who wins in the end. Cheers!

Summary: One of the funniest films I have ever seen!
Review: The filming is supurb, and Dreyfus delivers one of his most memorable performances yet. Poindexter is aptly named 'Looney', and is willing to sell his blood for gambling cash. Terry Garr is great as the furious wife. A must see.

Summary: WHAT A HOOT!
Review: I have owned a pan&scan laserdisc of this movie for years and always "trotted" (yuk, yuk) it out for company to watch, completely confident in the knowledge that no one visiting my home had ever seen it. Everyone I've ever shown it to loved it! And now here it is in its original widescreen presentation, which looks fabulous.

Dreyfuss has never been better, Robbie Coltrane is an absolute hoot, David Johansen is gloriously over-the-top, and Allen Garfield, Jennifer Tilly, Teri Garr, Michelle Phillips, Cynthia Nixon (and many recognizable others) round out one of the greatest casts of lovable losers ever.

This movie is worth the price alone for the scene where Tilly delivers one of the most memorable film lines of the 80's: In excusing herself from the table in the Jockey Club, she begins to walk away from the table in that terrific, skin-tight-leave-nothing-to-the-imagination red dress. Dreyfuss's Trotter remarks quietly and admiringly to Garfield "nice legs", which she overhears, whips around and delivers a career-making line if there ever was one, "yeeeaaahhhh, they go all the way from my a** to the floor", leaving the men totally transfixed and speechless, and us, the viewers, in absolute hysterics. Marilyn Monroe never nailed a moment better!

This is a great movie that has charm, comedy, wonderful performances, great direction, never a dull moment, and when you see it for the first time, you will be shaking your head along with countless others, wondering why it didn't make it at the box office. Don't miss it!
