Summary: A Movie About Stripping With a Story Line
Review: I first saw this movie at the theatre four years ago and I have to say Ice Cube did a good job directing this movie. I thought it would be a cheesy flick on the adult entertainment industry like "Showgirls" and "Striptease". But this movie has a story line.
The character Diane/Diamond played by Lisa Raye, was a determined sistah raising a child on her own and putting herself through a historically black college (her father argued with her that she should be attending a "white" college which caused her to move out). While working at a shoe store, two customers enter the store and ask how much she makes, she responds that she makes enough but they tell her that she can do better than what she is doing and bring her to the strip club to meet the owner. She is immediately hired.
The money is good but she has to maintain herself by not allowing to be lured into the seedy part of the profession--drugs and prostitution and not lose sight of her goal--to be a journalist. <....
The movie tells the story of a black woman with persistence and determination keeping herself out of trouble and not allowing the lure of money to prevent her from doing what she wants to do. Ice Cube did a good job directing this movie.

Summary: Funy, funy, funy
Review: Berny Mac gave one of his best performances in this movie. He was hilarious, in the scene where Jamie Fox (Blue) entered his office to talk about the money he was taking out of his check. "You aint notin' you don't get notin' and you don't deserve notin' All you do is spin records. Who you think you is DJ Quik, Kid Kupree no you must be Jimmy Walker." Up until the end when he asks, "Why are the girls being prohibited." Bernie Mac along with Adele Givens, Jamie Fox and AJ Johnson made this movie and all time favorite.

Summary: Better than I thought it would be...
Review: I was thoroughly impressed by this movie. Not only did it show a good moral to a hectic, dramatic story of a struggling college student/single mother/stripper, but it also displayed to my surprise Ice Cube's directory talents. I was at awe by what this movie had to offer. This movie is raw, humorous, justifying, as well as cruel. I highly recommend this movie.

Summary: A crude, crass, and lewd directorial debut from Ice Cube.
Review: If Ice Cube were as great a filmmaker as he is a rapper, then "The Player's Club" would have more to offer besides being a hip-hop flavored "Showgirls." Wishful thinking. The appealing LisaRaye stars as a struggling college student who abandons her part-time shoe salesman job to begin a life of a stripper. Along the way, she befriends another stripper and gets into all sorts of drama. The film's script is clumsy and never rises above the predictable and stereotypical. There's also a very unpleasant rape scene that's unnecessary as it is vile. Cube, I'm sure, wanted to "keep it real" by making this film as raw as possible, but in doing so, he forgot to "keep it right" by making a decent and believable film. "The Player's Club" isn't the worst film I've seen, but unlike "Showgirls," it isn't bad enough to qualify as camp. It's just simply bad.

Summary: LisaRaye in her first starring role
Review: This was one of favorite movies, it tells the story of Dimond(played by the super-(...) LisaRaye), as a struggling college student who is working at a shoe store where she meets two [exotic dancers] from The Player's Club, they manage to convice her that selling shoes aren't going to pay her way through college and take care of her son. So she gives it a try of course she had the usual butterflies on her first night but after a while Diamond gets caught up and starts to get into her new job. Jaime Foxx co-stars as the clubs DJ and does a great job bring some comedy to the film as does Bernie Mac as Dollar Bill, the club's owner, Ice Cube also stars in the film and gives a good performance.

Summary: Good Attempt...
Review: This is a good attempt at the non-Friday type movie. I'll give the direct one thumb up for that but I'm just really not into that Martin Lawrence dis the sisters type humor or that booty out watch me shake it stuff...but honestly...was it me or was this movie borderline porno? It had a message I'm sure but it kinda got lost.

Summary: Very entertaining movie...great direction by Ice Cube
Review: I was surprized that I liked this movie. Didn't care too much for all the violence, but it was interesting. Gives you an inside look at what happens in strip clubs behind the scenes. I found myself rooting for Diamond to whoop Ronnie's trashy a** at the end. All around a good flick. Highly recommended.

Summary: "ICE CUBE" RULES AND SO DOES HIS MOVIES"
Review: This film was excellent, Ice Cube does a very good job on playing the thug that comes in the club. Dallar Bill is sleazy, but that was played well for his part. The word that should be said is make the money, but don't let it make you. "WATCH FOR SOME AMAZING LAUGHS" "AND GOOD CAST"

Summary: The greatest
Review: Ice Cube presented the audience with an in your face look at the consiquences of your decisions. I loved this movie not just for the beautiful women, but for being able to feel the actresses pain. We never really think of the problems and reasoning women sale themselves short. Life is hard, making bad decisions come regularly, but you must be able to look at yourself each morning.
