Summary: 30-something year old mom of six LOVES THIS MOVIE!!!
Review: If you come from a family where your mother was controlling at all, this movie is cheap therapy!! Every child should have a friend like Fred. Honestly, this is a really funny movie for older children and the young-at-heart adult. Of all the movies I've seen, this is my all-time favorite. I'm a mom to six children, teacher, and a graduate student and am not ashamed to admit that I LOVE *Drop Dead Fred*!!!I do suggest renting it before buying it. If you are parent who does not like the typical poop, pee, snot, nose-picking humor then you will not like this video. But, if your sense of humor is a little "off" and if you like slightly dark comedies, you will fall in love with this video! As a mom to six children, I don't let my very young children watch this video as I am afraid of having to deal with imitative behaviors and they will be confused by the adult child (Cates) utter dislike for her mother. Personally, I'd let a 8 year or older child watch this, though. (with a parent to talk about any issues of concern)

Summary: Not as bad as the critics say it is
Review: I LOVE this movie! The critics can say what they want, but when you're feeling low and in need of a laugh, this will definantly do the trick. Yes, some of the jokes are stupid, but face it, you know it's not Shakespeare. They talk about Cates' bad performance, she certainly seemed like a sad depressed house wife to me.

Review: This is by far the worst video I have ever seen. After thirty minutes, I returned it and insisted I receive my 99 cents back. Do yourself a favor and dont rent it. If you do, remember I told you so. By the way, I gave it one star only because I had to fill in all fields.

Summary: Spectacular, hysterical vacation from adulthood
Review: This movie should be a classic. It is hysterical, amusing, touching and true. For anyone who has ever had an invisible friend. I was pleased to pass this movie onto my children and see them laugh as much as I have. It's a shame it's not on DVD. I'd own that too.

Review: Leonard Maltin was right about this one. What a lame movie with a plot idea that could've worked if it was done right. Instead, we get this huge pile of crud that is supposed to be funny and entertaining. Sorry folks, not gonna find it here. I'm all for silly, stupid stuff that serves just as innocent entertainment, but this isn't funny at all. Not even in the enjoyable 'stupid' way. It's just plain stupid. The glowing reviews for this film is downright astonishing!. This movie sucks really bad and does not deserve any acclaim whatsoever. It would be best if Fred did just drop dead!.

Summary: A laugh out loud good time!!
Review: Spontaneous side spliiting fun!!! Wonderfully creative, unpredictable and imaginative. Sense of humor required. Not something I'd let my young children watch because it's packed full of troublesome ideas (and they don't need any help). But definately a great movie to reduce tension and bring out the laughs. Nothing is sacred to Fred. He'll make mudpies on your dining room table, chop off your hair, make you look like an absolute fool in a restaraunt, even wipe a booger on your face. But he'll always be on your side keeping the spirit young and strong. One of my favorite movies.

Summary: Drop Dead Fred......Please!
Review: After a great start in "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" and "Gremlins", Phoebe Cates was well on her way to becoming a star. That light dimmed when she started making films like "Date With An Angel", and this monstrosity. Phoebe plays a woman whose childhood imaginary friend seems to pop back up in her life right when she starts having problems with her husband. Rik Mayall(spelled correctly?), as Drop Dead Fred, is a little too much. He's very annoying and hard to watch. The movie is dreadfully plain, boring, and unfunny as....heck. Too bad. You had a promising premise with a great cast:Phoebe Cates, Tim Matheson, Carrie Fisher. Do yourself a favor when you see this in your local video store and keep on walking past it. Why such glowing reviews?. It ....beyond the telling of it! Rik is a loud, annoying actor who can seriously make your head split in two. Just awful!. Avoid as much as possible!. Please!

Summary: the best movie ever
Review: As a child, this movie was my favorite, and still is. I always wanted an imaginary friend, and what better to have than a British accented nose-picking guy! This movie is great, the language is bad at the beginning, so parent guidance is requested but other than that, it's a heart warming tale. Elizabeth, the main character, still needs an imaginary friend though because she never got to grow up right thanks to her vicious mother, but when Fred comes back, all is well. A great story, maybe a bit too magical for some kids, but still fun to watch.
