Rating: Summary: Best Of 99 Review: All I can say is that you are in for a great movie. Sit down...and relax. This movie is great in all differentways, hilarious scenes and also the music is pretty freaky at times if you are screwed up enough:) this movie is probably my favorite of all time. The movie is fast paced which is what I like usually. The music fits the movie perfectly and the movie shows everything of the story. The movie is frequently hilarious and more often than not very interesting(but mostly funny:) Oh well I think I will watch it again:) Also the dvd is really good, the picture quality and the sound quality are great. The extras are pretty good too. END
Rating: Summary: 24 Hours With Nowhere To Go But Down.... Review: Blending the narrative savvy of Pulp Fiction with the hip and hard-edged groove of Human Traffic, Go is one teenage movie taht knows exactly where its going. Spiralling out from a single moment that changes the lives of a motley collection of characters, the film starts uncertainly, but then gets better, better and better.Set on hristman Eve is Los Angeles, the story begins in a 24-hour supermarket where english loose cannon Simon (Desmond Askew), asks fellow employee , Ronna (Sarah Polley) to cover his shift. Faced with eviction if she cannot summon up some recent money fast, Ronna decides to try her hand at a little drug peddling. Approached by two amiable actors at the check-out, she decides to broker a drug deal. Adam and Zack (Scott Wolf and JayMohr) need 20 Ecstasy pills and were hoping to acquire them from Simon. No problem, says Ronna. So, after work, she meets up with Simon's dealer in the hope of negotiating a quick profit. But having aquired the pills - and left her friend Claire Montgomery (sexy Katie Holems) as a 'human collateral' at the dealers apartment - she senses that she is being set up by Zack and Adam and flushes the pills down the dunny... As Ronna's night escalates into a complete and utter nightmare, the film suddenly flips back to its starting point where we follow Simon to Vegas. Here, Simon, too quickly finds himself out of his depth as his weekend of partying turns decidendly sour. And then, in the film's final stretch, Adam and Zack take over centre stage and eventually all the strings of the story pull themselves together, leading to a very satisfactorily griping and explanatory climax. The second feature from the director of the cult 1996 hit Swingers, Go is edgy, crafty, suprising, sly, unexpected, gripping and disarming cinema. Add to this generous lashings of violence, humour and hot nudity and you're watching a movie taht delivers in spades. In addition, the audience is treated to a thunderously terrific soundtrack of pulsating class acts, including Massive Attack, Leftfield, Fatboy Slim and Lenny Kravitz. What more resons do you need to see the movie? GO!
Rating: Summary: one of the best ofn 1999 Review: This movie is wonderful in every way.It is proof you can still have a ton of dialogue in a movie and the audience will still like it.The acting was a shock to me.Before this i thought katie holmes, scott wolf, jay mohr, and the ally mcbeal chick were lightweight actors but I was wrong.I thought the way it sepated in to 3 stories was clever. All in all a pleasently good surprise
Rating: Summary: I love this movie Review: Go is one of the best movies that I saw in 1999 and is one of my all-time favorites. The plot is like Pulp Fiction in that all three of the stories told intertwine to form a hell of a movie. One of the stories revolves around ecstasy deal one around a trip to Las Vegas and the last revolves around two gay soap opera stars. Full of action and laughs, Go keeps you interested for the entire length of the movie(only 103 minutes). There is some nudity and drug abuse so I wouldn't recommend this movie for those who are easily offended. But for people who like dark comedies and action and for those who love to laugh I would definitely recommend Go, which I recommended to all of my friends and would not quit talking about it until they saw it.
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable film but a great DVD Review: If you are into getting DVDs just for the amounts of extras then get this one. Had plenty of cut scenes and videos on it. You can't beat the price either. The film itself is not wholly original but very fun to watch.
Rating: Summary: GO see it Review: A fast paced film that users clever layers and then brings it all together. Slightly over the top but it allowed me to relive those crazy things you did when you were young, took drugs, drove across the country and stayed out till dawn. Then turned around and did it again.
Rating: Summary: Go for it Review: This was a pretty good film about a group of kids who get seriously involved inside the drug ring and the only bad thing is really that there was a sex scene that was pretty graphic. It was extremely funny.
Rating: Summary: Rollicking, Fast Paced Good Time Film Review: Looking for some fun, action, comedy, great performances and interesting story-telling in a film. Grab yourself a copy of this movie, throw it in the DVD/Vidoe player and let yourself "Go". (Sorry, it sounded better in my head.) Okay, bad pun aside, this movie is seriously enjoyable (substituting a bad oxymoron for a bad pun). Starring a young cast of pretty faces, this movie "borrows" from Tarrantino the overlapping/shifting through time device to tell the story of several groups of people and their adventures over a 24 hour period around Christmas. Centering mostly around a drug deal gone awry and a trip to Vegas, the characters are thrown into a wild adventure that will thrill and amuse the viewer throughout. For the most part, the movie is very good. The story is fast-paced and avoids slowing down, sometimes at the expense of developing characters or plot. And despite the overuse of some already tired modern character devices (haven't we seen enough of the "white guy who thinks he's black" character?) for the most part the movie follows a fairly original path through it's narrative. The cast is young, pretty and can actually act. Katie Holmes, Sarrah Polley, Desmond Askew, Adrienne Harris, Scott Wolf and Jay Mohr are outstanding as the relative strangers whose lives intertwine over the course of a day's activities. As for the plot, there is plenty of humor and a wild car chase, so what else do you need to know? A near great movie, it is definitely worth a watch. Rent it first. You may like it enough to add to your DVD collection.
Rating: Summary: Skip it Review: This cinematic experience was quite horrid. This was quote masterpiece unquote got off to a sluggish start, and took the viewer through myriad of unpleasant imagery and monotonous story plot or lack thereof. The story-line seemed to go nowhere despite the fact that "some people" think this was the point, it was merely a ludicrous show of pretentious poppycock and balderdash. The acting was unseasoned and vapid. Every time Katie Holmes delivers a line the movie screeches painful halt. Mr. Tartentino probably was infuriated by the blatant plagiarism of his magnum opus, Pulp Fiction. In addition, Irvine Welsh the writer of Trainspotting, and Danny Boyle the director, may also have been offended by Go's counterfeiting of their brilliant film. Go was merely an artificial and annoying waste of time. Such videos should be avoided, and quite possibly burned in a large pile. The film was possibly as unpleasant as its soundtrack.
Rating: Summary: Go to the store and get this DVD Review: Ok..sorry about the cheesy title, but I just think this movie rocks! Let's begin with the wonderful cast that includes Sarah Polley and Katie Holmes (although by far Sarah Polley was so much better). Then let's take a turn to the awsome music that puts you right into the middle of a Los Angeles rave! Aww yea. buy this movie for the music, the content of course (awsome stories in fast forward motion speed you through a world of youth, drugs, and good old times) and of course the craving you get to do drugs while watching the movie!
