Rating: Summary: "GO" easily tops the list of best movies this year Review: The main thing i loved about GO was the originality of the cinematographty and storyline. It was basically a thirty minute story that is in the perspective of four different peope, thus totalling about an hour and fortyfive minutes. GO was so intriguing and so funny and entertaining, I'd reccomend it to anyone... that's old enough to see it... legally.
Rating: Summary: This movie was very entertaining... Pulp Fictionesque... Review: Drugs... Three ways... Guns... Gays... Car chases... Very funny... Intriguing... After the first fifteen minutes, you're hooked...
Rating: Summary: do NOT pass "GO" Review: Probably the most entertainingly fun movie you'll see all year. And this isn't like PULP FICTION. It cuts back to show what's happening to all characters during the same period of time and how they all come together. Which, if you've seen PULP FICTION, isn't what that film did. This is probably the best film along with ELECTION so far up through the summer of 1999 at least, that didn't get promoted right. They could have been huge blockbusters if they were promoted right, because they're that good. GO along with ELECTION are probably the most entertaining movies you'll see this year. ELECTION is hilarious, while GO is more of a dark comedy. The writing is excellent. I laughed like hell with the whole amway thing and how the cop came on like he was gay and was just trying to get them to buy amway. (: The DVD Extras are cool too. They got 3 music videos, (all good except for the NO DOUBT video which is kinda weak), 14 deleted scenes, making-of-featurette, and a audio commentary with the director and editor. Do NOT pass "GO" on DVD
Rating: Summary: brilliant! Review: lives up to tarentino's genre. absolutely worth seeing over and over again. just pure brilliance.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining, but lacking... Review: This is a very entertaining and stylish film with terrific performances from just about everyone involved. But it is ultimately let down by the rather gutless conclusions to some of its plotlines. The otherwise excellent conflict between Jay Mohr, Scott Wolf and the kinky cop -- is resolved with a joke. The gritty Las Vegas sequence is resolved at the end -- through broad comedy. And ultimately, there is little or no consequence depicted for illegal activity, overdosing on drugs, -- even being hit by a car and left for dead is shrugged off in this film. You are likely to enjoy this, just don't think about it too hard -- and don't bother to get it on DVD. This is the kind of movie for which God created Cinemax.
Rating: Summary: Action and comedy packed Review: "Go" was on par with Pulp Fiction. It didn't have as many dry parts as Pulp Fiction. The movie was funny and fresh, the rave and esctasy scenes very true to life. Overall I strongly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: go already! Review: this movie is so much fun and so energized and so wild, it is just a trip! I loved watching everything come together and the rave scenes just give you a rush. I love the way it starts, too, with the columbia logo getting cut out by that awesome music and flashes of the party. Very smart, very surprising, with great performances (Sarah Polley is so awesome and Katie Holmes needs to do more movies like this because she's great in it). Get it now!
Rating: Summary: One Of the Best Of 1999 Review: Prior to this film's release, I freaked out because I thought director Doug Liman (who gave us the classic 'Swingers') was about to put out a throwaway commercial hunk of hip plastic. But I gave it a chance, went and saw it, and laughed my ass off. The sugary, teen-pleasing cast is under great direction, and the pace keeps you connected. I don't even think about the accusations of 'Go' being a 'Pulp Fiction' spawn. There are many great scenes, but the ones that get me laughin' hard are the dance number in the grocery store produce section and the cat that "can read your thoughts".
Rating: Summary: I say stop for 'Go.' Review: "Go" is a movie made for those Commie Hippie Types like the fellar from Berkley. Frankly, I found the movie difficult to follow and the acting was subpar! Now all this talk about Pulp Fiction...I'm not too sure as I hadn't ever seen it. But for my $3, I'd rather watch 8 Seconds! That's a film with love action, bull action and fantastic actors.
Rating: Summary: Don't take it so personally Review: This film is a parody of today's GenX'ers, not an indictment as some critics would have it. Those critics who have trouble with exagerated trifles like hair styles, attitudes, drug use, and "white-pretending-to-be-black" phoniness, need to sit down calmly, and repeat to themselves, "Its only a movie." And yes, this film does mimic "Pulp Fiction" to a certain degree. Is that a crime? Pulp Fiction itself mimics other films, especially those of Goddard. Art informs art, art inspires art. How many times does it take repeating that to make it clear? This is a very good movie, far more intelligent and genuinely funny than most high-gloss films from Hollywood these days, so get it and enjoy it, but keep an open mind and a tounge in your cheek..
