Summary: Where's the DVD??
Review: This was my favorite movie growing up. Ok, so the script could've used some work, but it was really funny! Why isn't it on DVD yet? If you haven't seen it, you need to. Sly is funny. Marisa Tomei shows her acting abilites. :) GO OSCAR!!

Summary: Lame
Review: This was a thoroughly lame, lousy, poorly-written movie. Overacting, stupid story, lame, lamer, lamest dialogue.

Summary: great comedy from Stallone and company!
Review: This movie is hysterical, and proves Stallone has a capacity for comedy, especially when surrounded by the stellar cast ensembled here. Stallone stars as Angelo "Snaps" Provolone (like the cheese), a gangster who promises his dying father he will turn his life around and become an honest businessman, but circumstances won't allow for it!

The entire plot takes place in Snaps' palatial home on the morning of his first day as an honest man. The cops don't believe he's trying to be honest, there is a mix-up of a little black bag of cash that keeps appearing and disappearing, Snaps trying to marry off his spoiled daughter (played by Marisa Tomei), discovering he has another daughter, being told off by his wife, having tailors (the Fenucci brothers) in and out of his house, an oily tutor for his daughter traipsing about, etc etc etc!!! Apparently, it's easier just to keep with the life of crime, but Snaps does his best to cope!

Summary: Laugh 'till you throw up!!
Review: I'm so happy to have found the other people who saw and loved this movie!! I saw this in the theater when it was released in 1991. It's a shame that there were only 6 other people in the theater. I thought we were all going to die laughing. Two of us saw it again, I returned again after that. I had only laughed half as hard when I saw Young Frankenstein. I also was looking for this in dvd, to no avail. Thank God my local video store sold it previously viewed right after it was released in VHS!! I beg anyone who has not seen this movie to please give it a try. It really is a crime that this movie has been so unfairly overlooked. I think if it were not for Sylvester Stallone, the movie may have been treated a bit more fair. I'm not saying he was not funny because he was. I think the reviewers were gunning for this to be another comedy failure for him. They made that happen. This movie is funny from the opening credits to the end. Bravo to the entire cast for all the wonderful performances!! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE release in DVD!

Summary: Stallone's Best
Review: I was never a Sylvester Stallone fan until I ran across this gem and rented it. By then the VHS had been discontinued, so my dear hubby tracked down two used tapes and bought them for me so that I'd have a backup when I wore out the 1st tape. All the actors do a great job in this movie, but Stallone and Tim Curry really stand out.

It is a crime that it hasn't been released in DVD. I hope they smarten up fast and do it right. Meaning widescreen and subtitles for the hearing impaired.

Summary: Opera Wisom
Review: Pure Heaven in a movie. Sylvester Stallone is the funniest person alive. This was just as good as biscuits and gravy. I thought I was at a Thanksgiving dinner. Possibly one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life. It was pure genius. Sylvester Stallone is a god. Marisa Tomei is the funniest woman alive. Who in the world could have come up with such a ground-breaking piece of cinema like this? "Oscar" is the most under-rated movie ever made and it's way better than that one boxing movie of Stallone's. Who's Rambo? It's all about goofy opera music and Stallone. This movie needs to be released on DVD as soon as possible. I'd probably buy at least ten copies of this movie on DVD. So, Disney if you're reading this monumental review by me, please put this cinematic event on DVD now!

Summary: Stallone's Finest Hour!
Review: My question is, how is a movie so incredibly funny and for me Stallone's best performance is this not masterpiece of a film on DVD?!? Its ridiculous that such a good film is not on DVD. PLEASE PUT THIS ON DVD.

Summary: Stallone is Comical!
Review: A funny Stallone movie that deserves more recognition than it did. I enjoyed this and more people need to see this. Kirk Douglas makes a cameo and it's hysterical. It should be put on DVD and John Landis fans will enjoy this quirky, gangster comedy.

Summary: One of my ALL-TIME FAVORITES!!
Review: I absolutely love this movie, if it were available on dvd I'd buy it in a heartbeat! I've already worn out one VHS and I'm just hoping my replacement tape will last! If you don't mind laughing uncontrollably and staying on your toes to keep up with a very fast-paced plot, this movie is unbeatable! I laugh just as hard every time I see it.

Although Sly is the star of the show and he does an incredible job with it, this show is loaded with fully developed, utterly hilarious characters (played by an abundant supply of brilliant performers). Everyone from the main characters down to the maid and the Italian tailors get their share of laughs - In this movie, there are plenty of laughs to go around!

Summary: I DIDN'T KNOW STALONE WAS SO FUNNY!
Review: I have seen this movie at least a dozen times...one of the greatest farces of all....fast moving....side splitting funny...it should be on DVD...and revived for others to enjoy.

Why didnt Stalone do more comedy?...he is great!

For that matter why don't they make movies that are this much fun anymore?
