Summary: Hilarious!
Review: Definantly recommend if you don't mind pervertness or cussing. I don't think it's a movie for kids though. Very crude humor, minor partial nudity. Other than that, Jim Carrey and Renee Zellweger made a good team together. The time sure flew by watching this movie. I don't want to give the details away, but I'm positive you will enjoy this movie. HAHAHA!!

Summary: Shoddy Jim Carrey, Utter Waste of Rene Zellweger's Talents
Review: Although the film does have its moments, the plot line is silly and does not really hold together at all. The language was pure Richard Prior; I can't count how many times the word motherf**er was used.

Some of the gags were pretty funny, as in the dead cow scene, the bathroom urination scene, and the chicken up the cop's tush scene. But this movie was not supposed to be the Three Stooges-gags can carry through a 20 minute show, but not a feature length film.

What really disappointed me was the utter, total waste of Renee Zellweger's acting talents. She is an actress who has a reputation for carefully picking the projects she works on. She is not in the early part of her career anymore. After wonderful films like The Whole Wide World, Jerry Maguire, and A Price Above Rubies, this was an incredible letdown. I have to admit she looked as sweet and attractive as ever, with that lovely voice, but this film makes me think she simply needed cash in a hurry and this was one way to get it.

Summary: Give the guy a credit
Review: Of course, there's nothing much but a very uncomplicated plot, slapsticks, green stuff & foul language. But you have to give Jim Carrey credit for his vein-popping red-blushing transitions from Charlie to Hank.

Summary: Farelly's out gross themselves once more!
Review: When anyone mentions to you 'The Farrely Brothers' you automatically think 'Gross-out humor', and their latest installation into the comedy world is nothing short of that, infact, there isn't a gag in the film which is R-Rated!

Carrey throws away his serious face, in his first comedy since 1997's Liar Liar. The performance he delivers, is comic genious, showing us again that he is the king of face contortion.

The plot is nothing special, just an excuse (and a damn good one at that) to throw in as many body fluid and schitzo jokes as humanly possible. Charlie Bailygates is a single parent (to 3 wonderfully portrayed sons), and a highly UNrespected officer of the Rhode Island State Troopers. Once he is pushed too far (in the hilarious supermarket scene), h explodes, and releases the ultimate in alter-ego personalities - Hank Evans.

Hank fears nobody, and no situation. Along with drowning a little girl in a fountain, he see's it right that he can drive a car into a barbers window, and take the place of a feeding infant. Along with his problem Charlie/Hank must escourte Irene (ReneƩ Zellweger) to New York, whilst trying to dodge an array of assasins on the way.

With top notch gags, this film is let down by the poor editing, poor acting from extras, and the most diabolical advertising campaign a movie has ever seen. The marketing guys of this film should be ashamed. THIS IS NOT, REPEAT, NOT A FILM TO GO SEE WITH YOUR ELDERS.

The DVD has the best choice of extras, more than any other film, and if you leave it on the opening screen for 60 seconds, you will get a little suprise...!

Summary: AVERAGE IDEAS..
Review: This movie seems to be made of good isolated moments, moments that, unfortunately, are not connected smootly to make a good film... There are good jokes, some fun, but the whole is not good; it's loose, really weak.

Summary: Better Than What People Think
Review: First of all, the reviews on this page being negative are more vile than the movie itself. They say they can't watch Jim Carrey again. He's better off without them. Have they seen "Dumb And Dumber"?. Anyways, it's not one of his better movies but it is a hilarious film. The jokes don't always work, but, then again, not every joke in a film works. No matter how great the film is. Jim is great in this. This film shows yet again how versatile and comedically brilliant he is and can be. His character is the most sympathetic one he's ever played. His three sons is another great comedic idea. That can't be said for Rene Zellwegger. She's good, but doesn't do enough. There is some things in here that would of been better if left out. The scene with Charlie say the F word to the little girl. That wasn't needed. So, in the end, if you like Carrey's screwball comedies and the twisted minds of the Farrelly Brothers, then you'll probably like this.

ME MYSELF AND IRENE

Jim Carrey, Renee Zellweger, 2000

Synopsis

A down and out police officer, develops a split personality and both of his 'personalities' develop a crush on a young woman who the police officer has to escort to a different city.

My Review

Well it was only time before Jim Carrey started on the decline. This movie was dumb, no not 'dumb and dumber'. . .just dumb. Story makes no sense, I mean what are they running from? Although Renee Zellweger looks pretty hot in that blue outfit she wears throughout the entire film, and you gotta love that voice.

Summary: Lost all respect for Jim Carrey
Review: If only I could give it a zero rating.
I will not mention the plot because that is the least striking thing about this movie.

The movie was not funny. It was not clever. The only quality it had, which it had in abundance by the way, was that it was disgusting. That is the single striking quality at work.

Trailers for this movie made it look kind of funny,
but a true trailer presenting an honest view of what
is in store would have shown this:

(1) a dog crapping on a lawn, you actually see the crap dropping from the dog's butt, real, not simulated;

(2) Jim Carrey squatting naked and crapping on a lawn,
you see a close up of what looks like Jim Carrey's crap dropping to the lawn, but then you realize they've cut scenes and its someone making a soft serve ice cream;

(3) Jim Carrey suckling on a woman's breast, he was really doing this, not simulated, and he does it as grossly as he can so that the breast jiggles as much as possible, and when we see him again he has a white milk moustache; I am not making this up.

(4) a nine year old girl screaming to Jim Carrey, "F____ you!",

(5) Jim Carrey taking the girl and dunking her head in a fountain and holding her down.

This was simply the sickest most disgusting first 20 minutes I have EVER seen in any movie, with the possible exception of The Messenger which was also disgusting.

I know it's rated R, but EVERYONE also knows that kids way under 17 will see this film because kids love Jim Carrey. This stuff just isn't funny. Film studios have apparently abandoned any sense of responsibility. So has Jim Carrey. I've lost all respect for him with this film. I will never be able to watch one of his movies again.

It was just unbelievable. It's as if we've entered another dimension where there is no sense of decency whatsoever, not the least bit. I mean, Beavis & Butthead looks tame next to this. Those old "dirty" college films, Fritz the Cat and Dirty Duck, they all look like Disney next to this utterly debased and vulgar stuff. And worst of all, there is not an ounce of cleverness here. Nothing. Not a single brain cell was active during the making of this film, not the writer's, not Jim Carrey's, not the director's. It is the worst of the worst.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Wow, this is really bad
Review: Most of the time, ... reviewers tend to exaggerate how bad something is. In this case however, that is not the fact. This movie has an average 3-star rating, but it's much worse than that. The plot for this movie is just another played out Hollywood theme that is executed rather poorly. The thought of Jim Carrey playing a man with two personalitys excited me. Jim did a decent job at his role, but his performance is overshadowed by the stupidy of the plot. The Farrelly brothers are the lone bright spot in this film, and their place in the plot was pretty much the only funny thing is this movie. This movie does not have the same PG-13 feel of "The Mask" or "Liar Liar", it is rated R for a reason.

If you go out and rent this expecting something as good as "Dumb and Dumber" or "Kingpin", you are in for a real suprise because those films are in a completely out of the league of this movie. Unfortunately, Jim Carrey's movie just keep getting worse with the exception of "Liar Liar", but I can't imagine him putting his name on anything worse than this.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I hope I get to know you better. Do you swallow?
Review: This is a very funny movie. The Farrelly brothers have made another great movie after Mary. This movie has a bad storyline (which is used to get from one gag to the next.) The best parts in the movie are the cow, baby, chicken, peeing, and Jim carrey fighting himself (Fight Club style!) The DVD has some great features and the commentary is great. Be sure and pick this one up (not for the easily disgusted.)
