Summary: Could Have Been Something
Review: Being the first Jim Carrey movie about Jim Carrey being funny since Ace Ventura 2, I expected ME MYSELF AND IRENE to be much funnier. When I found that it was directed by the hit-and-miss Farrelly brothers, I grew both excited and wary. And, of course, the movie is exactly what I expected: almost good. Every two or three minutes there's a slightly humorous joke, and every five or ten minutes there's a laugh-out-loud one, but it never gets better than that. It's really too bad.

Summary: Carrey is back! So are the Farrely Brothers.
Review: Me Myself and Irene will definitely make you laugh some, but probably not as much as you'd think for a Jim Carrey movie. It's mainly because the Farrely Bros. use the same jokes in most of their movies. But anyway, Jim Carrey is definitely funny, so I recommend this movie/DVD to any Jim Carrey/Farrely Bros. fan.

Summary: Understand you have to be a Carey fan to appreciate...
Review: I have read some of the reviews from other customers andI can understand them. They aren't a fan of Jim Carrey and his intelectual but stupid humor. I rank this one up with Dumb and Dumber. The whole plot and set up of this movie makes it what it really is, a classic Jim Carey comedy. The Farley Brothers show perfection as my sides hurt from watching. One piece of advice, don't watch this movie alone or you will be one of the sourpusses downing this movie. It's easier to laugh with others. Overall a classic Jim Carey with a great supporting job by Zellwiger, and the three stoges including Lee Harvey and Shaunte Jr. If you don't get a kick out of this movie then go watch Shakespeare in love.

Summary: Carrey Does It Again
Review: I first saw this in movie theaters with my mom and sister, the week it came out. I am a big fan of Jim Carrey and sort of like the Farrelly brothers ("Dumb and Dumber & "There's Something About Mary".) When people first heard of this movie they thought it was going to be another "There's Something About Mary". Both of these Farrelly brothers' comedies have the gross-out humor, but "Me, Myself, and Irene" lacks the warmth that made "There's Something About Mary" such a memorable movie. The best things about this movie are: Jim Carrey's ability to transform into two different personalities, Charlie/Hank's three sons, and Whitey. The movie I would give 4 stars. The DVD I gave 5. There are many special features in this DVD that make it worth owning. The commentary by Bobby and Peter Farrelly is pretty good. I like the deleted scenes, except I don't like how they change from color to black & white. There could have been a better way to show the deleted scenes. I am 14 years old and I feel that this movie is appropriate for me. It might be slightly offensive to some people. I recommend "Meet the Parents" and if you haven't seen "There's Something About Mary" definitely check that one out.

Summary: A film with potential but it's only average
Review: When I rented this movie I thought I was in for a comedy treat but having watched I know why it's not been out too often!

The film starts off fairly slowly and doesn't have too many funny parts, I'll admit that there are some laughs but nothing that I could really pick out as being memorable.

The fun only starts when Jim's other personality comes out and he begins to interact with the other people. My personal highlight is after he confronts the mom and he's driving back, if you've seen the film you know what I mean.

Once he is ordered to escort the prisoner the jokes start to fall a little flat and you are wanting the evil personality to come back to inject some much needed comedy into the film. The film trundles along to the obvious climactic finish but we have to suffer the obvious fight between the good and bad personalities which might have been good apart from the feeling of Jim milking it for all it's worth.

I found the film to be a little muddled and by the end of the film I was wanting to see more of the evil personality as Jim was excellent with that part of the role. The less said about the three sons the better. I'm sure they were very funny for some people but I found it hard to understand what they were saying sometimes as their dialogue was very fast.

I would say that this isn't one of Jim Carrey's better films but if you are a fan of Jim then I'm sure you will enjoy it. I've given this film 2 stars because without the evil character it would only deserve 1.

Summary: Jim Carrey is fabulous
Review: If change the performer of this movie's leading role to another actor, I would like to rate this movie a popular one without funny. Jim Carrey made it different. Really he is a great performer who seems to be able to play any role funny and attractively. This movie tells you a story of a Rhode Island state trooper, also is a schizo, who was performed by Jim. Like other Jim's movies, a chain of laughing stories made up this one, also with a little bit rude language for making up the characters. All these gives you an opportunity to enjoy a schizo, two men-Charlie and Hank, be in love with the same woman. This movie is so comically entertaining that I just feel it is too short for seeing. And I am just eagerly looking forward to the next masterpiece of Jim Carrey. Hilarious!

Summary: Jim Carrey with a split personality = doubly entertaining
Review: In "Me, Myself & Irene," Jim Carrey stars as a skitso cop who tags along with Irene (Renee Zellweger). Charley (Jim Carrey), a cool cop that patrols the roads of Rhoe Island, is having some problems with his wife after she meets a black midget that gets offended by Charley. Charley meets Irene at a station and plans to escort her to upstate New York as a prisoner. From there, everything breaks loose and both Charley and Irene go from one place to the other on a frantic mission to stay away from the police, because they're both wanted. Irene also finds out first-hand that Charley has a split personality that toggles between being Charley and being Hank (Jim Carrey), a crazy and obnoxious lunatic.

I didn't think "Me, Myself & Irene" was Jim Carrey's best comedy ever, but I did think it was one of his best and his best one since "Liar Liar." This movie is packed full of laughs with antics such as when Jim Carrey throws himself out of a car, or I should say Hank throws Charley out of a car. Jim Carrey definitely did one of his best acting jobs in "Me, Myself & Irene," he makes it seem like he really does have a split personality. Don't think that just because this is a comedy movie that it lacks in plot because it has a good plot that unfolds gradually.

If you like hilarious comedy movies or Jim Carrey movies, I definitely recommend getting "Me, Myself, & Irene." It's one of the funniest movies of the past year without a doubt!

Summary: The Worst
Review: If I could, I'd give this film negative five stars. Everyone associated with this film should be ashamed. The idea that three African-American children from Mensa parents would use the kind of language they use in this film is ridiculous. Maybe that was the point, but it didn't work. The narration is layered onto already long and drawn out gags that aren't funny. The only credible performance is from Renée Zellweger. She has to put up with Carry overacting. I'm not using my name because I don't want anyone to know that I actually sat through this mess.
