Rating: Summary: Can't wait for the third part Review: "Good bye Father of the Bride Part Two forever"? (I'm speaking to the oblivious clueless reviwer back on the reviews) Please. How juvenile can you get? Even if you bid it farewell, it won't go away. but I respect your opinion, even if it may not sound like it. On with the movie review. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Most sequels are boring and terrible, but this one really followed up with the first one. The fact that all of the characters were back from the first movie really helped. And how many movies have this kind of plot? Have you ever heard of another movie with a mother and daughter getting pregnant at the same time? And Martin's character, George Banks, was a really sweet man to be able to help out both his wife and daughter at the same time, without blowing his top, and he was a high-strung man to begin with. Short's character, Franck, is back with the same kooky qualities, and his driving to the hospital and all added much humor. I was happy to see some vulnerability in this movie, such as Keaton and Williams crying over the littlest thing-like all mothers do. The baby room, the deliveries, everything was so sweet. There isn't anything nasty or vengeful about it- it's just a soft, warm movie about a normal family with two babies on the way, with bright hopes for the future. Everything just seemed to pull together. The plot may be a bit predictable, but it's still great just to kick back and enjoy this two-hour movie accompanied with an emotional uplift. I sincerely hope they make a third part! It would make the movies even more enjoyable! I highly recommend this movie!!

In parenthood, father's cooperation is very important. at least he has his baby and grand son all right.
Rating: Summary: Sweet Movie! Review: Father Of The Bride Part II was a wonderful sweet and charming movie that I liked better than the first movie which was also a very good movie that was sweet and charming but for some reason this sequel just appealed to me more maybe because I saw it before I saw Father of the Bride but anyway both are cute and enjoyable and I could watch them again.
Rating: Summary: Similar Formula to Original With Some Success Review: Father of the Bride was a classic comedy. So one knew that a sequel had to be on the way. The original cast of Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, Kimberly Williams, and Martin Short are back and in fine form.
Whereas there are some comical moments, it just seems like the pacing of the film is oh so identical to the original. Just as Mrs Banks announces her pregancy, Franc is on the scene to plan another baby shower. And a double one at that to honor Kimberly William's character. The scenes just become to off the wall an the repetitive false alarms add very little to the story.
Nonetheless, Steve Martin and Martin Short are very entertaining. The wrecking ball scene with Mr. Habib is priceless. Not quite the original but Father of the Bride 2 certainly rates as amusing.
Rating: Summary: Something Borrowed, Something Blue Review: Following the succesfull '91 remake of the 1950 classic Father Of The Bride, history again repeated itself, with Father Of The Bride Part II. Based on Father's Little Dividend, the sequel reunites the major players for a solid follow up--yet somehow not as much fun.
George (Steve Martin) and Nina Banks (Diane Keaton) have just settled down since their daughter Annie's wedding (Kimberly Williams) when life hurls another milestone at them. Annie and her husband Bryan (George Newbern) are about to make them grandparents. Once again George is scrambling to do everything right for his expecting daughter while facing another stage of his midlife crisis.
Once again directed by Charles Shyer, the film plays to the chemistry of the cast, led by Martin. The script by Nancy Meyers and Shyer (who also penned the original) are a bit more heavy on the schmaltz this time out and the movie's biggest turn isn't that much of a shock. They even found a way to bring back wedding coordinator Franck Eggelhoffer (Martin Short). In the end, he still made me laugh, despite a seemingly forced prescense
Unlike the DVD for the first film, which only had the theatrical trailer, for its bonus material, Part II earns points for giving us a bit more to chew on this time around. The audio commentary with stars Martin and Short is fun but I would have liked to have had Shyer in the mix too. The production featurette is a fairly standard piece of fluffy confection--the theatrical trailer tops off the extras.
Not a bad follow-up but the original is better. Still Part II is good enough to earn a recommendation.
Rating: Summary: An enjoyable (but repetitve sequel) Review: George Banks (Steve Martin) has finally recovered from his daughter's wedding - he's just finished paying for it, and not only did he learn how to deal with the fact his Annie is married (well, mostly by thinking she and her husband Bryan are playing house) but is starting to like Bryan a little... Until Annie announces she's going to have a baby. George Banks? A grandfather? He always knew that Bryan was up to no good - he, for one thing, is too young to be a grandfather! As if he needed more proof for that, his wife Nina (Diane Keaton) is preagnant again - just as George was starting to look forward to having the place for himself and Nina in a few very short years when their young sone Matthew leaves the house... Throw in Frunk the weird wedding coordinator and his assistant Howard, Bryan's parents and their "lovable" dogs, and you get a movie as hilarious as the first one: there's just the right amount of references to the first movie to be funny but not to bore the viewer as a typically boring sequel... Unfortunately, the structure of the movie is very similar to the first one's (including Annie & Bryan fighting at around the same time in the story line), which made it feel a little repetitive.
Rating: Summary: it was the funniest movie I have ever seen Review: I have watched this video about 25 times. Its great for the whole family. It was very heart warming, and packed with comedy. Even though this probably would never happen (mother and daughter are pregnent together) it shows exactly what would happened if this happened to you.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Delightful! Full of comedy! Review: I never could wait until Thanksgiving. That's when they always showed this movie on TV, but unfortunetly they stopped doing that a few years ago. Then when I saw that Amazon.com had it I immediatley bought it!! Steve Martin and Diane Keaton make a dynamic duo on the screen. Oh..and Martin Short..He was hilarious in this movie. This one led perfectly from the first one to the second one smoothly. I hope they make a third one! If you've never seen this movie you don't know what you're missing!
Rating: Summary: They're Baaaaaack! Review: I saw this movie for the first time and I fell in love with it right away. I rented it so much I had to own it! I love the loving Banks family I wish that they would make a third one!!!
