Summary: Comedy Talent from all actors in this timeless piece of art!
Review: My favorite Barbra Streisand movies are her comedies from the
70's. They are fresh, funny and Babs is such a natural at comedy. I wish she would do more comedy films. This film
What's Up, Doc? Is a classic! It has all the good stuff to make
you laugh so hard your belly will be aching for hours. Wonderful
comedic timing by such greats as: Barbra Streisand, Ryan O'neal
and of course this was Madaline Kahn's first movie. She is a
real scream in this. Add the slapstick, car chase, kidnapping,
hotel fire and funny script you have a perfect recipe for a
classic comedy!!

Summary: ONE OF THE BEST ROMANTIC COMEDIES OF ALL TIME
Review: The 70s threw more than a few duds, but this classic romantic comedy is a gem. I was instantly hooked to the movie when I first saw it, and it has stood the test of repeat-viewing, which to me is the litmus test of a film's greatness. Great ensemble cast, some hilarious lines, and some wonderfully memorable scenes, including the now-popular chase, the court room sequence that I've seen about 6-7 times, the dinner party sequence etc. Highly recommended if you need some cracking up.

Summary: You must remember this....it's brilliant.
Review: I'm very picky about buying movies, they all have to mean something to me. I saw this when I was but a wee bairn in its first theatrical release. (OK, I think I was 9.) I remember how hard I laughed then but I laugh harder now. This film is not just a joy to watch, but the dialogue is a joy to listen to. And another amazing thing: there's no music soundtrack to tell you when to laugh. It's all up to the actors, and this is a rare case of extraordinary chemistry. About the extra features: Peter Bogdanovich's commentary does add something, but Streisand's is a waste of time. That's the only negative thing about this DVD, and it's a very small complaint. This is one of the greatest comedies ever made. Get it. (And find out the meaning of "Propriety.")

Summary: Finally on DVD in letterbox format!
Review: This is one of my all time favorite films. An amazing cast of characters and great actors to portray them. The writing and direction of this screwball romantic comedey (a classic of this era) make it one of the best films ever made. It has it all timing, humor, intrigue and romance. It's the tops!

Summary: 5 Stars from a non-fan of Streisand
Review: I am not particularly fond of Barbara Streisand. I hold no animosity towards her, I have no grievances against her, but I don't find her alluring in the way that many seem to.
That said, this is one of the funniest movies EVER. A good farce is (a) not something that is easy to create, and (b) not something one finds very often. Comedies in general are very hard to do properly, and this one is right up at the top of my list.

Summary: THE Funniest Screwball Comedy Ever
Review: I finally got to see this movie for the first time in years on DVD. It's just as good as I remembered it being. Fast-paced and funny, cleverly written and superbly acted, marvelously adult and fun for the whole family at the same time. This is the only role I've ever liked Streisand in, and her banter with Ryan O'Neill is so good it should be required learning in acting school for today's "comic" actors. Buy this movie and prepare to laugh your head off.

Summary: I can't stop laughing!
Review: One of the best comedy films ever made, "What's Up, Doc?" is finally on DVD. The first time I saw this movie I had tears in my eyes and my stomach was in such pain because I was laughing so hard. And today when I view this movie I get the same reaction. The judge in this movie cracks me up! And Barbra Streisand is perfect. She's actually perfect in any thing she's ever done. I love her version of "You're the Top." It fits in perfectly. I was really looking forward to Barbra's commentary on the film. I was expecting stories from the set and what was going through her mind as she had to do some of the VERY DANGEROUS stunts but she really doesn't offer much. Once scene where she has to cross the street and these two motorcyclists come inches from hitting her she says she was so scared she closed her eyes and just walked straight forward. She seems to have forgotten everything else about the making of the movie. Most of the time it's like she's watching it for the first time and the little information she does give she sounds rather bored. At times it sounds like she's eating something. A bit disappointing for one of my favorite movies but I guess I'll live.

Summary: FLAWLESS FUN
Review: What a great show! And it really holds up. It's been forever since I've seen it and I love it more now that I own the DVD. It doesn't seem like it should work. Why do I put up with (and thoroughly enjoy) all of the over-the-top gags, acting, and dialogue? It's all a giant-sized cartoon wink ;-), and it's alot of fun. When I first saw it I didn't even understand that it was an old-style "screwball comedy", as explianed in the bonus materials, but I loved it just the same.

Summary: My #1 most favorite movie!!
Review: What's Up Dock, I think, is the most hillarious movie of all time. What I don't understand is why in the world so many people haven't seen it. I am 18 yrs old and 90% of the people I talk to who are in my age group haven't heard of it. I've shown this film to several of my friends and they enjoyed it as much as I did. If you haven't seen it...Go Rent It!

Summary: Skip Barbra's Commentary!
Review: I've loved this movie since I was a kid and just replaced my VHS copy with the DVD. I was eager to hear Barbra's commentary, expecting it to be full of wit and interesting tidbits about the movie. It's awful! It's as if she's never seen the movie before, and at one point I'd swear she's eating something while recording the commentary. I hope I'm able to forget I ever listened to it and just enjoy the film again. If you love this movie, think twice before listening to Bab's voiceover.
