Summary: Strong start, baby, but limp finish
Review: Poor Elizabeth Hurley. She is vaporized within the first five minutes of Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, a roisterously ribald sequel to Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997). Her demise comes right after she and Austin Powers (Myers), the swinging '60s London spy who emerged from a cryogenic state determined to frug his way through the '90s, consummate their marriage. (Sample post-coital prattle: "Do you smoke after sex?" she asks. Powers purrs, "I don't know, baby, I never looked.")

Hurley's hasty exit means she misses all the fun. For silly fun is what the peppy new Spy, again co-written by Myers and directed by Jay Roach, provides-at least during the first half. Myers will do anything, and does, for a laugh, including making like a pudgy Esther Williams, complete with pink rubber bathing cap. But Spy's second half droops. Powers and his nemesis Dr. Evil (also played by Myers) are cartoon figures, and Spy's plot is so puny (Powers again must foil Evil's attempt to gain world domination) it cries out for steroids. It doesn't help that Myers dips into the toilet every time he runs low on comic inspiration, particularly while playing a third character, Fat Bastard, a corpulent, flatulent Scotsman.

Myers is at his best as Dr. Evil, a villain as amusingly stiff and out of touch as Ed Sullivan. This time, Evil has an inspired sidekick in Mini-Me, a diminutive clone (winningly played by Verne Troyer, an actor who's 2'8" tall) who is Evil in concentrated form. Graham (Boogie Nights) portrays spy Felicity Shagwell, a part requiring her to vamp Powers and model hot pants. She does both with aplomb.

Summary: Swingin baby yeah!
Review: This movie is the best of the 2. Mike Myers cracked me up a whole lot. Dr.Evil being a very hillarious evil doctor and Powers being a spoof of Bond, and the best yet. Fat Bastard says some of the funniest things and Mini Me does some of the funniest things. This movie, after you see it you'll be laughin at the moments for years to come.

Summary: Groovy
Review: This movie is brilliant, the extra features are the best that I have ever seen on DVD, and I thought that although it was not as original as the movie and certain scenes were reused (eg "Shhh"-> "Zip it" and "Mutated sea bass"->"magma chamber" but the Shhh/Zipit was taken from Myers previous Axe Murderer movie anyway) the film was still funny and brilliant in it's own right.

Somebody commented on killing Vanessa... Are you serious? Since when have bond movies starred the same girl twice in a row? She was lucky to get a part at all! Heather Graham, whilst not the best actress in the world, is perfect for the role.

As for not being as much of a bond spoof and more of a continuation... Did anybody spot the "hollowed out volcano lair", "ursula andress emerges from water", "moonraker moonbase", and that's just for starters!

Summary: Mini-me!
Review: The addition of Mini-me and plot that focuses more of Dr. Evil makes The Spy Who Shagged Me far funnier then the original. The plot is faster, slicker and simply more laughs per minute then the first, making this one of those movies were the sequel is better then the original. Mike Myers proves that there is life yet in his Austin Powers winning formula. Some of the jokes are terrible ("do you smoke after sex", Austin looks dowm at his grion to see if it is smoking) and old favourite in British pubs, but hey, Mike does it better then anyone else at the moment. A welcome change to Leslie Neilson doing every bloody spoof 'comedy' in Hollywood...

Summary: Disappointing sequel to a hilarious film (2 1/2 stars)
Review: If it ain't broke, don't fix it, I guess. "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" was one of the funniest movies of the 1990s. It had the sort of humor that could have come from the Zucker brothers (Airplane and the Naked Guns). Mike Myers was terrific in his duel starring role, and Elizabeth Hurley did a decent job as the sexy Vanessa. In the end, you just had to smile at this funny movie. Of course, when it was first released, the first Austin Powers wasn't a huge hit at the box office, and it only got recognized through video. So it's success brought on an obligatory sequel, which unfortunatly jumped the shark in the first scene. If they were going to knock off Vanessa, at least they could have done it in a better manner...I mean, come on, a fembot? The Austin character is not nearly as developed as he was in the first movie. There are constant commercial tie ins which aren't funny, just sad. Mini-me was funny at first, but even he got old. Fat bastard was just stupid, unfunny and disgusting. A lot of jokes were recycled from the first movie (for example, the scene with the Will Ferrel character). There were missed opportunities for new jokes (when Austin went back in time in that New VW bug, they could have made it turn into an Old VW bug...well New VW bugs, like the movie, are just pale impressions of the original, I guess). But the worst part of the movie was Heather Graham. Yeah, she may look okay, but SHE CANNOT ACT! She appeared to be reading cue cards with a blank expression on her face for the entire movie. Why couldn't she be the fembot and Vanessa could have come back at the end? Please? But to give it some credit, there were some very funny scenes. The Dr. Evil character was on top of his game (I liked where he sang "One of Us" and then decided to take credit for it). Scott was still funny, despite the fact that if the writers would have done their math he would be 30 years old. But the funny parts were much more sporatic than the first movie, and they were replaced by too much "gross out" humor and commercialism, neither of which is very enjoyable.

Summary: This is smashing baby!
Review: Let me start by saying this movie is a must buy. It's the funniest movie in the world, with tons of sex humor and gross stuff, it may not be suitable for the little people but hey, it's all in good fun. You'll have the diolouge memorized soon, as you'll watch it many times. Buy it, your money will not be wasted as you'll watch it many times.

Summary: If This Is What The Sixties Were Like...
Review: If this is what the sixies were like, I feel sorry for the people who lived through them. This movie is the absolute worst! First off, it had no story. It was about a sick guy trying to get his "mojo" back form "Dr. Evil". That's all I have to say about it. Most movies I go on about forever, but this one I can tell in two words! It wasn't funny at all, either. I bought the video, (and no I'm not sorry I wasted my money on it because I'm don't want to be stingy), and I just watched it once. It'll probably stay in my video compartment forever, because I'll never watch it again! This has to be one of the worst movies of the summer, and I can't understand why others don't say it is. Bottom line: Don't buy this movie!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great but gross
Review: Although some people say that this movie is just a copy of the last one, I don't agree - it has more jokes and those repeated are more developed. i thought it was really funny and totally silly. The only thing is sometimes it gets so gross that you stop laughing and just go 'eeuw.' I think they could have toned that down. But it's clever and Mike Myers acts really well playing 3 different parts.

Summary: WHY?
Review: CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME WHY THERE IS NO WAYNE'S WORLD 1 AND 2 DVD's?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Wheeeeeeeee!
Review: Austin is really cool, but I think that Wayne is a better character. Doctor Evil sounds a lot like Lorne Micheals and also Don Roritor( the pharmaceautical boss in the Kids in the Hall Movie) *played by Mark McKinney* Overall, this movie was really great.
