Summary: Funny!
Review: this was a good follow up to AP1. the extra features were plenty and the hidden Dr. evil features were pretty cool. the sound and picture quality were excellent, and the audio commentry was cool. if you liked the first one, but haven't seen this one i suggest you rent it or buy it.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: i dont get why people like this movie
Review: i love comedy movies but this is kinda stupid. Mike meyers is incredibally annoying in this movie. the first one was a little better. The only reason this movie did so well is because mtv promoted so much and every little teenie bopper had to run out and see it just because mtv said to. For real comedy go with dumb and dumber or ferris beullers day off they are ten times funnier.

Review: Joel my 7 year old son thinks this is the funniest DVD he has ever seen. Very funny.

Summary: Worth it for the special features alone!
Review: I'm sure you all already know that this is a very good film. The real beauty of this DVD is the exceptional amount (and surprising quality) of the extras on this DVD.

The Feature Length Commentary is excellent with Jay Roach and Mike Myers (and some other bloke who dosen't say anything). It does offer a good insight into the process of making Austin 2 but it also reveals invaluable snippets of trivia like the working titles of the film (Austinpussy, Austin Powers 2: The Wrath of Kahn etc.). Really worth a listen.

The deleted scenes are very funny too. They easily maintain the same standard of comedy as the film itself but I guess they had to cut something out.

Best of all is the hidden 'Dr Evil' special features. If you go to the Special Features menu and wait about 30 seconds an evil rocket flies up the screen. Click on the Evil symbol it leaves behind and there is a whole new menu of Dr Evil special features.

Hope this helps yo in your decision to buy!

Summary: Shaga-DELICIOUS, baby, YEAHHHH!
Review: Anyone who thinks AP2 stinks is either 1) dead; 2) believes Al Gore has a 'terrific, swinging' personality.

The Spy Who Shagged Me may not reinvent cinema verite, but it is a universal panacea for depression (or a nasty market day, or both), delivering Austin's raunchy bad humor, atrocious overbite, swinging scene, Dr. Evil, and the inimitable Mini-Me. Possibly one of the most delightful performances (and disturbing) is handed in by Rob Lowe, who plays the younger version of Robert Wagner's #2 with a little *too* much alacrity.

What could you possibly find in Little Women or Pride & Prejudice that isn't in this movie, baby, YEAH!

God Bless Mike Myers.

Summary: Looking forward to Austin Powers III The revenge of Dr. Evil
Review: Its coming. you heard it here first. Mike Meyers is a genious. Dr Evil is not gone.

Summary: Too Similar.
Review: Austin Powers 2 is quite simply a reworking of the jokes that made Austin Powers such a cult success. This doesn't mean that the jokes aren't funny. They are, but after seeing Austin Powers 1 about 10 times, it was disappointing not to find anything fresh in the sequel.

Myers is great, as usual, in this sequel, both as Austin Powers and Dr.Evil. Fat Ba**ard is a funny creation but Myers was better, and less forced as a Scotsman in the excellent "So I married an Axe Murderer." Heather Graham is lost in the plot. Liz Hurley's role in Austin Powers 1 was under appreciated. She played a great straight character for Austin to bounce his jokes off. Graham is pretty but very irritating. The supporting cast is solid. Seth Green, again excellent as Scott Evil, though he gets less screen time, and less funny lines than the first movie. Rob Lowe is solid but his cameo in the first still beat this performance. "Here's to Jimmy". Verne Troyer as Mini-me steals the show. "Mini-me, you complete me".

There are a lot of highlights in this movie but too many jokes fall flat. The mufasa joke was unfunny and went on far too long. The conclusion was predictable and therefore, disappointing. The biggest problem was bringing Austin Powers and Dr.Evil back to the sixties. Suddenly they are no longer geeks, they are no longer out of touch. In essence, the fish-out-of-water scenario was the basis for the success of Austin Powers 1.

I was going to give this 2 stars, but the review has regurged a lot of the jokes and you know, there was a lot of good in this movie but not as many as the first. I recommend the first over the second but still, this is hardly a bad movie. Myers is always watchable.

Summary: picks up running where the first one ended...
Review: If you're considering buying this and have never seen either film, you may want to rent the video to make sure this is your taste in comedy. If you have already seen either movie, then you should know if you like it or not. That being said, this film is hilarious, and I have watched it more than the first (i have both on dvd). this movie tends to focus on dr evil and his continued pitiful attempts to take over the world, get along with his son, and just function as the head of an "evil" corporation. there are many "classic" scenes that you will be tempted to rewind and watch again during the playing of the movie. mike myers has the ability to be funny on several levels: from dry sarcasm, to parody, to downright banal toilet humor. comedy shouldn't be restricted to being "tasteful", and myers definitely doesn't feel any limitations here. myers reprises his role as austin and dr evil, while creating a new character: the gargantuan scottish henchman, aptly named "fat bastard" who handles the majority of the farrelly brother type toilet gags. frau farbissina, scott, and number two (played by both robert conrad in the future and rob lowe in the past) are all back. the most prominent new addition is verne troyer as mini-me, a genetically produced version of dr. evil who is a "completely accurate" reproduction of power's nemesis, except only 1/8th the size. his father-son relationship with dr evil and the resulting sibling rivalry with scott create some of the funniest moments in the movie. the supplements are substantial and are often as funny as the movie itself. the movie and supplements will all warrant repeat viewings and prove that this disc is a steal from new line. highly recommended.

Summary: Back To The 60's
Review: Mike Myers is back as Austin Powers in this sequel and once again he has to battle Dr. Evil (Once Again Also Played By Myers). Dr. Evil who tried to blow up the earth in the first movie now tries to find a way to stop Austin from preventing him from blowing up the earth again, so Dr. Evil plans to go back to the late 60's when Austin is still frozen in ice and steal his mojo. In this sequel Dr. Evil has a new friend, Mini Me, the midget clone of Dr. Evil. Now that Dr. Evil is back in the 60's Basil Exposition (Still played by Michael York) sends Austin back into the 60's to try and stop Dr. Evil again. When Austin reaches the 60's he meets the female CIA spy, Felicity Shagwell who is Austin's partner this time. You may be wondering what happened to Vanessa Kensington, well you'll find out in the beginning of the movie. Dr. Evil this time deploys as many henchmen as he can to assassinate Austin, some of the henchmen are Ms. Swallows and once again "the man who can't be killed," Mustafa. Number 2 is back also. This time Dr. Evil will go to the moon and place a laser on it so he can destroy earth from outer space unless he gets 1 billion dollars. Another new villain is Fat ******* you know the last word, Fat ******* (Played By Myers). This sequel is somewhat better than the first but not enough to go up another star. Austin Powers 2 contains more laughs and many people agree it is better then the first, though the story lines are similar. Will Austin stop Dr. Evil once again? Will some of the new villains delay Austin? I bet you are wondering where Vanessa is? All these questions are answered in Austin Powers 2 The Spy Who Shagged Me.

Summary: I'M IN THE MINORITY - THIS FILM LEFT ME FEELING QUEASY!
Review: I really didn't like this movie. I thought it was stupid, inane and disgusting. It was nothing like the real 1960s and I didn't like the stupid name of Felicity Shagwell. (Translation: Happy and Good in the Fine Art of Sexual Intimacy). It was such a dumb film. The opening is a tip off to this because Austin Powers is involved with a mechanical woman who explodes at point of contact (you know what kind of contact). Genital, sexual and gross out humor fill in the large expanse of blanks in this disgusting film. I didn't like the other characters Mike Myers played in addition to Austin Powers -- I hated Dr. Evil and I just could not abide his obese personality, F.B.

The infamous stool/coffee scene was so disgusting I actually vomited in the theater. I was nauseous throughout the film and that scene was downright vile.

The only good thing about this stupid pathetic farce of a film is Elvis Costello. He provided some nice music.
