Review: I guess the only people who bothered to review this film loved it. I know I am not the only one who hated it, because other people have told me they hated it too.

I could not wait to watch this video. I had heard so much about it. I was so excited. I was going to get to see the wonderful, funny, "The Full Monty." Ten minutes into the film I knew I was in for a long, boring experience. I had a hard time understanding what the characters were saying. The story interested me not a bit. The only thing I thought WAS interesting was when the guys were practicing their strip tease. Unfortunately, it never lasted long enough. I was so relieved when this film was over. I felt like I had just gone through an endurance test. And before anyone tries to tell me I don't understand the British "sense of humor," my favorite book I had to read in college was written by a British man, and it was a funny book (The Complete Yes Minister). I just didn't like "The Full Monty."

Review: Because I always seem to be a couple years behind, I just saw this movie. Oh my god, I thought I would split a gut from laughing. It even made me cry a few times. It is without a doubt one of the best movies ever made. How wonderful that someone set out to tell a story, and ended up entertaining us all to the extent that this film did. There are almost too many standout scenes to mention, but let me try a few. The scene on the street where Gaz is trying to get Nathan back in the car, and says "I love ya, ya bugger". The look on Lomper's face when the other band members start playing the stripper theme music. Gaz's first attempt at stripping in the headlights of the car, with change flying out of his coat pockets, trying to get his t-shirt off with his cigarette still in his mouth. It's such a great movie on so many levels. You never forget that these men are living through a real-life nightmare that many of us have experienced ourselves. You feel their desperation, their emasculation, their insecurities, their panic, as if it were happening to you. But because these people seem so real to you, you'll also feel their triumphs. I didn't have as much trouble as I expected to with the accents, but the second time around was definitely clearer. The actual strip show scene is priceless, pay close attention to the looks on the guys faces. They had a great time making this movie, I bet. One final thought, watch for the scene on the hill with Gaz, Dave, and Lomper. It's too sweet to be real.

Review: This movie is simply hilarious. The accent was so thick to me at first that I had to watch the film 3 or 4 times. But, unlike other films where it gets boring with repeated viewings, "The Full Monty" only became more endearing. I always found something new to laugh at, and (surprisingly enough, I'm not ashamed of this) I began singing along with the disco. Either this movie or "Good Will Hunting" should've won Best Picture. Death to "Titanic"....

Review: What a wonderful piece of film-making this was, and proof positive of the fact that the British film industry is currently turning out some of the best movies on the market today. It's about ordinary people, and not overblown with ridiculous special effects that other films (ahem, Titanic) rely on to mask poor writing. The writing for this film is SUPERB, although perhaps the heavy Northern accents were too much for many Americans. Still, I don't know anyone who saw this film and didn't thoroughly enjoy it...I very highly recommend this film as one of the ten best films of the past decade.

Review: This movie makes me feel so good. I watch it often. I have favorite parts in it that I love to watch over and over. The characters are wonderful and perfectly casted. I watch it so much, I feel like I know them personally. It is a warm, delightful, funny, honest movie. Thank you.

Summary: Wonderful Comedy
Review: This is a wonderful comedy, and the last song says it all: that you have right to life and to spice it up. I liked most the magical moments when even something like male-strip dance transforms into art; e.g. the time when the group-members start dancing to the tune at the employment office. Also, it gives a chance to realize the different odd ways to express basic feelings: parental affection, marital bond, camaraderie.

Summary: This movie deserves a 6 star rating!
Review: I am not a big fan of comedies because they rarely make me laugh. I gauge them by how often and how hard I laugh when viewing by myself - and it almost never happens. This movie is THE exception! But it's not just funny, it's also a wonderful story with honest-to-goodness characters. I rarely re-watch movies but I've seen this one 4 times in less than a week and am buying the tape so I can watch it anytime I want to "feel good". Even the best description doesn't do it justice, you have to see if for yourself!

Review: This movie has got a little bit of everything.Love, anger, divorce, unemployement, homosexuality, sadness, child support, lying, stealing, death and happiness. It also has the one thing that movies don't need. Violence. The Full Monty is a great English movie. I think it deserved more Academy Awards, but unfortunatley it was copeting with Titanic. This movie is definatley a must-see.Put it on your list!

Review: I took my husband to see this at the theatre and didn't tell him what it was about. It was one of the nicest afternoons that we have spent together in years. Even my 75 year old mother enjoyed it. My son just bought me the sound track for Mothers day!
