Summary: The Wait Is Over.....
Review: It took 20 years, but fans of this American classic will finally have the opportunity to enjoy the Knights in a high quality format. Those who have never seen this nostalgic one night romp through mid 60s Los Angeles and its environs will be treated to more than just the antics of a hilarious group of testosterone driven misfits. Those of us who treasure our VHS copies of late night cable showings will finally have the high quality versions we have waited so long for. Like an irreverant version of American Graffiti, The Hollywood Knights will make you long for the days when life was simpler, and morality more easily defined in the days leading up to the turmoil of the late 60s. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Serious Flaws in the DVD Version
Review: While this is one of the greatest comedies ever made, the DVD version is incredibly flawed. According to a representative of Circuit City, the disk is coming back as fast as it is sold. The video and audio on the full screen format keeps breaking up and the widescreen version can't be read. Be forewarned! And demand that Columbia Home Video fix the problem...soon!

Summary: Twenty years of sliced-up reruns
Review: I saw this movie at the theater when it was released. Saw it once later on Cable. Since then it's been just one more sliced-up version after another on latenight. Thank goodness that someone had the heart to put this out on video for us to enjoy again! All the girls! All the cars! All the jokes! All the music! See it with a date, see it with a friend, see it with a seeing-eye dog, but SEE IT! You'll never hear "Volare" the same way again!

Summary: A True Classic!
Review: It's about time! Thank you, to the powers that be, for FINALLY releasing this comedy classic. Now we don't have to stay up til 4 AM to catch this movie on Cinemax. All I have to say is Lawrence, Lawrence of Arabia....he's an English guy..he came to fight the Turkish...BEEP BEEP! BEEP BEEP!

Summary: Classic comedy reigns!
Review: "There is a man in a Major Domo outfit..." If you have seen this movie, you can easily finish this sentence. This classic mix of "low-brow" humor and early 60's ambiance is great fun. Look for Leigh French (formerly the Hippy hostess Goldie in the old Smother's Brothers Comedy Hour) as the society do-gooder pushing to get the local teen hang-out closed down once and for all. Robert Wuhl is outstanding as Newbomb Turk and Fran Drescher shines as his girlfriend. I have a VHS copy I play whenever I want a good laugh. The Hollywood Knights is a classic you'll want to watch over and over. I can't wait to get my DVD edition. Just thinking about it makes me want to launch into a refrain from "Volare"!

Summary: I Was There
Review: Having co-starred as Off. Clark, it's great to see it finally come out on tape. Can't believe it's been 20 years since we did it. It was a unique experience. Looking forward to seeing it again.

Summary: Great Nostalgia!
Review: I agree with Donna from Savanna, Georgia. I don't know how many times that I've tried to find out where I could get this movie. Heck, every time I saw American Graffiti, I thought about Hollywood Knights! I just love the backgound music. Just like American Graffiti did. It leaves a lasting impression on you. Thank You Amazon.com! (and thank you Internet! ).

Summary: Can an old fart weigh it?
Review: I, like the rest of the reviewers here, am waiting for my pre-ordered DVD of Hollywood Knights with great anticipation. Since I graduated with the Class of '64, this one is right down my alley, and one of my all-time favorites. HINT: This movie must, in no form or fashion, be taken seriously as an art-form, unless it were rated for nostalgia.

As corny and childish as some of the stunts are, in this movie, I, myself, was guilty of pulling just about all of them, in my time. We used to do all kinds of things to our city police, i.e., put sugar in their gas tank, play "hubcap" and get them to chase us. I even shot a large bottle rocket into the local police station (you should have seen them scatter). We even spiked the punch at the Prom.....only with vodka. And, yeah, we were just as car-crazy.

I don't know why it took so long for this to make it to the market, but if you can wear out a DVD, I'll be trying. If you're my age, it may bring back a few memories. If you're a youngster, you might discover that your parents (and grandparents) may not have been as dried-up and stodgy as you thought.

Young or old, it's one that all of you will love, and it will become a necessary addition to your collection.

BUY IT!

Summary: Hollywood Knights
Review: I about flipped when my brother told me "HollywoodKnights" was coming to video. I told him I would checkamazon.com and here it is! I have waited for 17 years just to have this as part of my video collection. This is the only video I've ever asked for in video stores and always got a "no we don't have that" for an answer. Now it doesn't matter. I'm so excited I think "I need my puffer". END

Summary: Greatest Movie of All Time
Review: Casablanca move over. Citizen who? Gone with the Wind, you can say that again. Without a doubt Hollywood Knights stands as the quintessential achievement of motion picture science and art. OK, don't buy that? If you liked American Graffiti, just R rate it and you have Hollywood Knights. You will be blown away by the vintage 60's rock music and automobiles. The humor is adolescent and with no socially redeeming properties. In otherwords, GREAT!
