Rating: Summary: Even grumpier than the first one Review: "Grumpy Old Men" has been one of my favorite comedy movies since I first saw it when it came out. Therefore, I couldn't wait to see "Grumpier Old Men," the sequel. It's pretty much just like the first one except with more laughs and some new faces. In this one, Max (Walter Matthau) has a son (Kevin Pollak) and John (Jack Lemmon) has a daughter (Daryl Hannah). Max's son and John's daughter are supposed to be getting married soon. Ann Margaret returns in this one and another new person is Sophia Loren along with her Italian mom. Best of all, Grandpa Gustafson returns with his hilarious one-liners in this sequel."Grumpier Old Men" is even funnier than the first movie was, and the new people fit in with the original cast perfectly. Everybody does a great job of acting. There's a lot of parts in the movie that are unforgettable once you see them such as when Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon temporarily turn their backs on one another and start playing hilarious pranks on each other, and the fight with the huge catfish. To top it all off, after the movie is over, it shows a lot of outtakes from the film, mainly with Grandpa Gustafson and they're just as hilarious as the movie itself was. If you liked the first movie or if you like comedy movies where the laughs never stop, I recommend getting "Grumpier Old Men."

Rating: Summary: I hated the first one, but this is a keeper! Review: A friend of mine rented the original "Grumpy Old Men," and told me I should see it. Although it had "moments," it seemed uneven and, well, stupid. This sequel is one of the rare times when a sequel is actually better than the original. It is almost as if the film makers had to make the first to see what it was that they had -- or rather the potential of what they *could* have. Grumpier delivers in a way the first never did. Now this is a sequel to try to top!!
Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL Review: A wonderful second movie. When I heard that there was going to be a sequel to Grumpy Old Men I was wary cause I LOVED the first one. When I found out that Sophia Loren was going to be added to the mix my fears were quelled. This movies was GREAT! The chemistry between one of the great screen beauties of all time and Walter Matthau, as Ann Morgan Guilbert says in the movie he has the face of a mackerel, is PERFECT! I would have liked to have had a little more interaction between Ann Margaret and Sophia Loren (as in a little more girls against the guys), but that's ok. Ann Morgan Guilbert plays Sophia's mother and is fantastic. You want to talk about some great chemistry Burgess Meredith and she are wonderful. Again watch the bonus features for his "bloopers" they are positively scandalous!
Rating: Summary: Training film Review: Do you think grumpy is natural? Think again. Learn from the experts, Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. They really make an odd couple" Odd Couple II, The - Neil Simon's" (1998). Who knew they could just get grumpier. And a new cutie has been added to the mix for this second in the grumpy series.

Rating: Summary: GREAT FILM! BEST CASTING I HAVE EVER SEEN! Review: I have never seen someone cast people like they did in this film. I thought that they did an excellen job at absolutely everything and it is a definite winner. I would recommend this film to the older bunch who love to laugh.
Rating: Summary: How About A Special Edition Widescreen DVD? Review: I haven't yet seen the first movie Grumpy Old Men but I saw Grumpier Old Men which is the sequel and I thought it was a delight! It was funny and had a great cast of actors, Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, Burgess Meredith, Ann-Margret, Sophia Loren, Daryl Hannah, Kevin Pollak, etc. I thought everyone was great but one of my favorites is Burgess Meredith who played Jack Lemmon's father, he was hilarious! I love this movie but I'm disappointed that the DVD has been edited from it's original theatrical widescreen format into the the pan and scan format which is no better than a pan and scan video. Hopefully someday soon a special edition widescreen DVD will be considered for people who don't like their movies on DVD to be edited in the chopped at the sides pan and scan format!
Rating: Summary: Grumpier Young Reviewer Review: I LOVE the movie Grumpier Old Men but I DON'T love that the movie on DVD is only available in the edited full-screen and not the original theatrical aspect ratio in wide-screen, there are movies that are terrible that are available in wide-screen but a great movie like Grumpier Old Men is not and that just isn't right! The movie would get 5 stars but the full-screen DVD only gets 1 star.
