Rating: Summary: Miss Congeniality: A very rare type of comedy! Review: As I said above this movie has a very rare type of comedy. It has a plot line (unlike most comedies), doesn't have a lot of cursing (which normally makes up a comedy), or very crude or crass humor. Now onto the summary: Sandra Bullock plays a very unfeminine cop (no offense female cops out there) who is picked too infiltrate a beauty pageant (or as one of the characters sayz "a scholarship program"), but the only way to do that is to become a contestant herself. Now before she's turned into the beauty that she appears as on the cover, she looks horrible. But then she is transformed into a VERY beautiful woman. Now this movie might be very stupid to some people and might seem like the rarely heard of "beautiful", or you might like it. Check this out, it is a winner!!
Rating: Summary: Describe Your Perfect Movie . . . Review: My perfect movie would have to include a good plot, GREAT acting, a lot of funny stuff, and a woman who can kick butt. That would be my perfect movie. And I got that perfect movie in Miss Congeniality. Miss Congeniality was about a woman private detective (Sandra Bullock), Gracie, who had always been a bit tougher than most of the girls . . . and guys. When the police force Gracie is with is assigned to go undercover at the Miss United States beauty pagaent to capture a terrorist, Gracie must go undercover as one of the girls entering the pagaent. With the help of a pagaent talent instructor (Michael Caine), and a handful of comedic cops (inc. Ben Bratt), she must not stop at all costs (Even if that means wearing breasts that aren't hers and high-heel shoes) to capture the terrorist before he attacks. Gracie meets up with some interesting friends (most notably, Miss Rhode Island) and in the end, saves the pagaent. Miss Congeniality was thrown together in a fun way, and is a fun movie. All of the acting was great, and the comical moments were right on the moment. Especially the ones given by Sandra herself. The DVD contained some great supplements. The two featurettes are filled with interviews from cast and crew, and are very interesting. They even include some deleted scenes that are hilarious, but were taking out due to length and drawing out the story. The commentary by Sandra Bullock and screenwriter, Marc Lawrence, is thoroughly entertaining and hilarious. There's another commentary, but I haven't had time to catch it. The theatrical trailer is also there. The video and audio transfers are great. Miss Congeniality will always be one of my favorites. Thank you ::sniff:: Thank you.
Rating: Summary: Great movie Review: This movie had a great plot and great actors, but for me, it was the functions of the DVD itself that made the movie shine. The commentary between Sandra Bulock and the director really adds some meaning to the movie. Also, using Special Features showed me deleted scenes, interviews of the actors, and messed-up scenes that were histerical to watch. The movie in itself is great, but if you're going to watch it, watch it with DVD.
Rating: Summary: Miss Sandra Bullock Review: Great movie I guess you have to like Sandra because This movie is all about Sandra Bullock. If you like her, like her personality.
Rating: Summary: Bullock Lite Review: "Miss Congeniality" is not Sandra Bullock's best film ("While You Were Sleeping" remains my favorite), but it's a fun film to watch on a Friday night over a bowl of popcorn. Though utterly predictable, it has some very funny moments thanks most of all to Michael Caine, who is absolutely hilarious in his role as a gay pageant consultant ("Glide!"). Candice Bergen and William Shatner are also hysterical as the officials of the beauty pageant (oh, excuse me, the "scholarship program"!). But ultimately, "Miss Congeniality" is Sandra Bullock's. She is quite a gifted comic actress who really deserves much better than this middling script. Still, she makes the best of it, and it becomes enjoyable fare.
Rating: Summary: Sandra is great Review: This is a great Movie....Sandra Bullock show us again what a wonderful actress she is. I am a big fan of Sandra Bullock, I think this is one of her best.
Rating: Summary: Best Movie Ever Seen Review: It is very comical and their acting were very natural which also shows the effort they put in their acting and they should be commended. Sandra Bullock is a very(x100000000) good actress and that goes for the same for Benjamin Bratt and Michael Cainel. Good job! I really hope that the three of them can work together again to produce another movie of the same standard or, maybe higher, which I am very sure they can.
Rating: Summary: Bullock is fun and funny... Review: It must be great to be Sandra Bullock. Producing this picture, and being able to have fun with it, and still make money! Sandra may not be a great actress, but she has real screen appeal, in the vein of Julia Roberts (who has more acting skill), because we feel she is real, and her personality shines through her characters. She deserved the Golden Globe, and should have a long romantic comedy career. Comedic timing and physical comedy? She can and does do it in this film. Ensemble? The casting director was incredibly fortunate to get Michael Caine to recreate his "cunning twit" role that he last shared with us as a scoundrel with Steve Martin. He has some great lines, and it feels as though he has fun with his role. Candice Bergen, William Shatner & Benjamin Bratt are all fun to watch, although none of them manages to go "over the top" and shine in this comedy. Bullock should stick to the kind of leading men she had in "While You Were Sleeping" and "28 Days". (Sort of everyday heroes instead of face candy like Bratt and Ben Affleck, her leading man in "Forces of Nature".) So...the target audience is really preteens, and I know they will love it and will wear out your DVD. Make sure they get to see Sandra in her charming commentary piece, and also check out the funny outtakes. Nevertheless, everyone in the family will get a few chuckles out of this feel good movie. With this success under her belt, although panned by many critics, hopefully Bullock will be able to bring us another "While You Were Sleeping" in the not too distant future.
Rating: Summary: not that great Review: I love Sandra Bullock, but this wasn't one of her best movies. It was entertaining, but too predictable. Could have been better.
Rating: Summary: I LOVE SANDRA BULLOCK! Review: She's beautiful, funny and, heck, I just feel good when I watch her in movies...she brings a fun-loving quality to her movies and this is no exception. I laughed and laughed. And she looks great in that bathing suit!
