Summary: Without a doubt, Steve Martin's best film.
Review: You can't stop laughing in time to begin the next laugh. Candy fits the part well of loser. The most amazing part of Steve Martin's performance is the incredible ways he finds to avoid going bullistic on Candy. The ending is a wonderful suprise!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is an ALL-TIME very funny classic movie tradition!
Review: This has been a family get together movie every year. If you want crazy comedy and nonstop laughter, this the the one to own. This is the best!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: In one word: FUNNY!!!
Review: If you haven't seen this movie or don't yet have it in your video library...get it! As if having Martin and Candy in the same video weren't enough, you've got John Hughes directing. Need I say more?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Classic Comedy From John Hughes
Review: This film is one of my all-time favorite comedies. If you want a great laugh, this is the movie to watch some night, with the comic geniuses Steve Martin and the late John Candy. The only reason why it is rated R is for one scene of the f word repeated about seven times (which is kind of funny) but that is about it. If you fast forward that part, this is a classic comedy for the whole family.

Summary: One of the funniest road movies ever.A CLASSIC!
Review: Even though the situations are exaggerated, the combination of the script, visuals, music and timing are hilarious. Anyone who has had problems on a trip can relate to this movie. I watch it every Thanksgiving holiday, and it is as funny as it was the first time I saw it. It is a comedy classic that the viewer won't tire of even after many viewings.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of my ALL TIME Favorites!
Review: Great acting and writing make this not just another 'holiday' movie. I never get tired of watching this one. It is hilariously funny yet filled with real warmth in the characters. You really get to like them both and appreciate the terribly awful but funny situations they go through. If you haven't seen this one, you should. It is on my top ten list of all time favorites!

Summary: Planes, Trains & Automobiles - Classic John Hughes
Review:

John Hughes, best known for his early to mid eighties "teen comedies" has struck gold with 1987's "Planes, Trains & Automobiles" starring Steve Martin & John Candy. This foray into road movies is often overlooked as being among the decade's best comedies, but not for the reasons that one might think.

First, this movie is not beautifully photographed. Next, cheesy late eighties pop tunes fill the soundtrack, and last, there is little that is notable about most of the mise-en-scene. However, a great idea makes a great script, and as a result, Martin & the late Candy pull off a fabulous and witty comic interplay. Most road comedies of this sort lack character depth, reliying merely on sight gags and slapstick humour to entertain the audience. However, although each character conforms to stereotype, the talented actors still make us believe in them, and we cheer them on, hoping that they will get home for the holidays.

It is this intelligent writing of the characters that makes the movie good, and it is the actor's terrific interpretations that make it great. It may be ten years old now, but it's definately worth a second look. END

Summary: TOPS!!
Review: Call me silly, but I am 44 and have been watching movies most of my life. This is my #1 favorite movie of all time. It cant compare with the great movies throughout history, but they are not my #1 favorite....this one is. How is that for a review?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Definitely on my Top 5 list of funniest movies of all time !
Review: I've heard a lot of people brag about how funny "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" was all my life, but I never could find it to rent, and I never got the chance to see it on Tv.....until just now. To say the least, I thought "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" was HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!

Mr. Page (Steve Martin) is on his way home to Chicago when Mother Nature throws a few obstacles in his path, keeping him from getting there right away. Even worse (but better for us comedy fans) Mr. Page keeps coincidentally running into a not so rich man named Del Griffith (John Candy). Now, the short-tempered Mr. Page and the overly nice Del, must put up with each other on planes, trains, and automobiles.

From the first minute of "Planes, Trains and Automobiles," all the way to the last minute, it's a classic comedy movie. The reason it's a classic is because it has more hilarious parts in it than three average comedies combined. Once you see most of the hilarious sequences, you'll never forget them, such as when John Candy shows his driving skills, and when Candy and Martin both have to sleep in the same bed in a motel room.

I've seen a lot of great comedy movies and I have a lot of hilarious comedies that I haven't yet seen, but of the many that I have had the opportunity to watch, "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" is without a doubt on my Top 5 list of the funniest movies of all time. I'm pretty sure that even if I saw every comedy movie ever made, it would still be on that list.

If you like comedy movies AT ALL, trust me, do yourself a favor and purchase "Planes, Trains and Automobiles." You know it has to be a great movie when over 120 reviews have been written for it and it averages 4.7 out of 5 stars.

Summary: Hilarious, could watch it everyday and still laugh
Review: For starters, the editorial reviews are absolutely 100% wrong and false. The movie is not just "intermitttenly funny" as one "proffesional" says, it is constant non stopping laughter funny. Hughes does a great job at making everyone laugh at EVERY scene that is meant to be funny, and still tie in a great story about family, love, friendship, dedication, and many other themes. Steve Martin and the late John Candy were absolutely great on-screen together in this film, and it truly is sad that John Candy has passed because this movie showed his true talent and potential. Overall, P.T.&A. is an outstanding movie that will leave you crying with laughter, crying with sadness, and crying with happiness all at some point throughout the movie...not many movies can say that.
