Summary: This one is truly great...
Review: I must say that I have read all of the reviews and they all make sense. The overall feeling is that this movie is a piece of comedic genius (which it is) with one or two people thinking it is dimwitted humor. I will agree that the Farrelly brothers can get into some pretty obvious patterns with their scripts, but this one is "the original". And it does not disappoint. Secondly, I judge a great comedy movie by the amount of lines that I recite amongst my peers. As you can see from the other reviews, I am not alone in thinking that this movie is full of little morsels of comedy that you'll want to recite time and time again. For anybody that doesn't like it, try watching it again. I wasn't the biggest fan the first time I saw it, but it has gotten better and better every time I've watched it since. This is because there are two brilliant performances turned out by Carrey and Daniels. For anybody that thinks the humor is offensive and banal, I've got a suggestion for you. Try watching the movie from a different perspective. Instead of taking Lloyd and Harry at face value, try watching the movie imagining the actors behind the characters. It only makes it funnier. The face value of most of the humor isn't that great. But there something underneath each line -the delivery or tone or something - that make them absolutely hilarious. After you buy it (your welcome Amazon), watch it a second or third time and you'll see what I mean. By the way, my favorite exchange....Lloyd: Excuse me......Flo....What is the soup du jour? Flo: It's the soup of the day. Lloyd: Mmmmmm...That sounds good. I'll have that.

Summary: It'll make your sides ache
Review: This movie is down-right hilarious! It's complete off-the-wall comedy that will keep you laughing from beginning to end. Everything from slap-stick to toliet humor is used in this outrageous Farrelly Brothers movie. That's right, Farrelly Brothers, the guys who brought you "There's Something About Mary" and now "Me, Myself, & Irene." Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey both put on an excellent performance as the idiotic Harry and Llyod. Basically, if you want a no-brainer comedy full of belly laughs, Dumb & Dumber is for you!

Review: You will laugh so hard you will bust! I could sit here and try to describe a particularly funny scene, but I won't(see it for yourself and laugh till you cry!).Jeff Daniels is just as funny as Carrey, and I hope Daniels gets the credit and respect he desrves as a comic actor. This is definitely one to own!

Summary: A Work Of Anti-Art: It Is Funny But Not Good
Review: I can only compare movies such as "Dumb And Dumber" to works of art such as paintings. There are some paintings that include every detail created in such a way that it is obvious that hours of work went into the creation of the piece. Then there are abstract paintings that seem to be put together with a mere bit of flailing with a paint brush. That is what the movie "Dumb And Dumber" is to me. It is a series of gags thrown together in a shallowly contrived imagination starved plot. The jokes only touch base with the most simple aspects of life. They apply to areas such as urination and defecation and make light of health problems(An ulcer) and disabilities.(blindness) While these areas can surely be funny in a morbid kind of way I would have wished "Dumb And Dumber" had something included that was original. Any schmuck in the neighborhood, much less any comedian, could come up with jokes along the lines of those included in "Dumb And Dumber". Shouldn't a movie include gags that couldn't be done by just anyone in any town and in any country. This movie is anti-art. It is a no-holds-barred series of gags held together by a sub-par plot that includes bringing a brief case to somebody in Aspen, Colorado. It boils down to a guy traveling to someplace far away to find a girl.(That's all folks) That sounds like another movie done by the Farrelly brothers.(Hint: There's Something About Mary) This is a great example of the flailing of the paintbrush. The results are not appealing. Don't buy it.

Review: Well, I can't add much to what people have already said, but my favorite line is Lloyd tells Harry to send a little message to Mary "Tell her I'm rich, handsome, and have a rapist wit." Just watch the movie, you'll know what i'm talking about.

Review: As you lie on the floor, kicking it with your heels and laughing like a goon, you will soon realize that this is the stupidist movie that you have probably ever scene. Yes, scene after scene will have you sobbing with hysteria. There are dumb movies. There are stupid movies. There are joyfully funny movies. This one is all THREE! To steal a line....try it, you'll like it. So there, don't put it off, or it'll be out of distribution. Then (sob) it'll be too late. Cheers....

Review: I'd have to say one of my favorite movies. you have to watch it more than once to really enjoy it. the first time i saw it i thought it was pretty pointless. but if you watch it with an open mind there are tons of funny parts that just get better every time. it doesn't get old! a movie that you'll get your money's worth from.

Summary: Best (and funniesr) movie ever made!
Review: I'll tell you, flat out, perfectly honest, i've seen this movie about.... oh, say 60, maybe 70 times, i can recite the whole movie from memory, and have noticed every single joke possibly concievable from this movie. SO whi is it, that every time I watch it, I crack up hysterically every 20 seconns? it because of the shear genius of Lloyd Christmas'(Carrey) utter stupidity, because of Harry Dunn's(Daniels) complete lack of any common sense. The movie isnt like other comedies, you know, the ones you buy, laugh at them once, watch it again, and say,"Why did I even think of buyin' this?" Well this movie, about two complete idiots, who have been best friends all their life, aqcuire a briefcase that was left in an air terminal by the prettiest woman Lloyd has ever seen. Now Lloyd and a reluctant Harry travel cross country, from Providence to Aspen, just to return the briefcase. Along the way, they'll unkowingly run into kidnappers, "laid back country folk" as Lloyd would say, and more than one police squad, just to return a briefcase that they dont even know whats in it, or the entire womans name! You have to see it!
