Summary: You will go overboard
Review: A snobbish woman (Goldie Hawn) berates a carpenter (Kurt Russell) that was hired to build an "Imelda Marcos" type shoe rack for her boat. Of course she does not pay. Later she falls overboard and gets amnesia Naturally the carpenter takes advantage of this in a unique way. At first it it's fun; then love sets in. Will she ever regain her memory and them what? In the meantime what is her hubby up to?
Great plot and well executed.

Review: Terrific movie, funny, funny, funny!!!!! I love funny movies, and this is just great! Of course what movies would not be great with Goldie, but with her hubbie in it too, makes it even more special. This is one you'll watch more than once, a real keeper. The caracters in this movie are very well matched for laughter & fun. I've watched it several times, & always see something new that I missed,& I still laugh when I watch it.Like I said this movie is a keeper.I have it in VHS.

Summary: I'm confused...
Review: Wait. People actually enjoyed this movie? Where are you people that find inane and pointless movies (that are completely devoid of anything resembling wit), like this, amusing? Do you travel in herds? Is the climate too cold for you here in the Northeast? Do you require a certain diet that we can't provide?
Anyway. I just finished watching this movie with my sister, and we found it hilarious, if only for the fact that it was the absolute worst movie we had ever seen in our entire lives. It is almost as if these late-80s screenplay writers (a frightening breed) sat down and tried to figure out for each scene how exactly to make it the WORST scene ever. The humor is not funny; the premise is not only predictable, but offensive; the characters are unbelievable; and by the end Rachel and I were praying that the entire family would drown in the watery depths of the Pacific. This movie is perfect to watch if you are as adept at mocking 80s films as we are. There is absolutely no redeeming value. If I could give it 0 stars, I would, but that was not an option. As it is, I guess this one gold star is for effort. But then again, there doesn't seem to be much of that, either.
If you enjoy mocking this film, Rachel and I also reccommend Vibes (another 80s movie- with Cyndi Lauper!) and the classic TV series, The Facts of Life.

Summary: Comedy great for your family!
Review: Kurt Russell & Goldie Hawn are really funny in this romantic comedy! He's a handyman hired to do work on her husband's boat and they totally clash. She gets into an argument with him refusing to pay him and shoves him off the boat with his tools and orders the captain to leave the harbor.

That night as the boat is traveling out to sea she accidentally falls off the boat. A fishing boat picks her up and is taken to a nearby hospital with amnesia. Her husband (a womanizing jerk) sees his chance for freedom & leaves her there. Kurt Russell sees on the local news that her husband is seen leaving the hospital denying he knows her. He realizes he has a chance to get back at Goldie for the rude way she treated him plus he wants the money she owes him for the work he did on the boat.

A friend of his fakes some wedding photos & he talks his sons into pretending she's their mom. (His real wife died and he has no way to take care of the children on his own. He's hired several housekeepers but none last long with his wild kids.) His plan is for her to work off what she owes him by taking care of his kids for a month, cleaning the house which is a war zone & doing yard work.

He claims her at the hospital and she comes home with him then the fun begins! The kids torment her with normal kid stuff (super glue on the plates, turtles in the bathtub, problems at school, fighting, etc.) Since he's working 2 jobs Kurt isn't around much and too tired to take advantage of her. They have a chance to get to know each other and end up falling in love.

Just when it seems like everything is going to workout & he's going to tell her the truth the horrible husband shows up to claim her (only because her mother threatens to hire a mass of mercenaries to hunt him down & cut off his private part!) When she realizes she's been lied to she leaves with her husband but is miserable. Kurt goes after her with the kids when he find out the boat is in the harbor & there is a very funny ending - happy of course! This is a great movie and well worth watching! I highly recommend you adding this to your video collection! :)

Summary: This Movie Is Very Good!
Review: Overboard was a great romantic comedy, it is such an adorable movie and Goldie Hawn is as funny as ever, and Kurt Russell is also very good too, and the child actors are good too! It would have been nice if Goldie and Kurt had made a sequel to Overboard.

Summary: Go Overboard
Review: This movie is one of my all time favorites. I remember watching it for the first time when it came out, I was 9. I used to watch old episodes of Laugh-In and that was the only place I'd seen Goldie Hawn, I was so amazed that the rich snobby woman was played by the same cute, pixie-ish woman I'd seen on Laugh-In.

Kurt Russell's acting style seems to be the same in every movie, but I still like him very much. He's funny and endearing all at the same time (and not to mention good looking!). The kids really stole the show, especially little Joey and his Pee-Wee Herman impressions. And who could forget Roddy McDowall as Andrew (ANDREW! Are you going to bring me my lemonade, or do I have to sqeeze it thru my hat!?) and the wonderful advice he gives Joanna in the end.

The ending is a little Disney like, but sweet all the same. Over all, a good movie, if you're in the mood for a feel good fairy-tale (well, reverse Cinderella, that is).

Summary: One of Goldi's best
Review: This movie is one we watch at least once a year. It can make you laugh, cry, sit on the edge of your chair, and root for the bad guy (or is he really the good guy)!

It has all the ingredients a good movie should have. The person who said "yuk" in their review must have been sleeping when he should have been watching, or he never read "dick and jane".

I would say that anyone with normal intelligence, a half way sense of humor, and knows of Kurt Russel, should agree, this (in real life husband and wife) played their rolls beautifully and keep the attention of the viewers.
