Summary: As Good As A Movie Get's,Perfect!
Review: Everything about this movie is great, from direction to cast Jack Nicholson,Helen Hunt,Greg Kinnear,Cuba Gooding Jnr and the little dog. A particularly smart/realistic script and character's make this a memorable story that touches the heart about an obsessive/compulsive writer his waitress and bashed/robbed homosexual neighbour and his beloved pet. From start to finnish this movie is what moviemaking is/should be all about and proves they can be financially successful/viable to the film studio-insider's, story has been included by other reviews just wanted the oppurtunity to contribute to a film that if you like character-driven stories by accomplished proffessionals it's a comedy/love story melodrama and in this reviewer's opinion is AS GOOD AS IT GET's! Highly Recommended Viewing, can't say enough about it- just see. Enjoy. Definetly a five star rating!

Summary: A perfect role for Jack Nicholson
Review: If you want to see Jack Nicholson in one of his best performances, showcasing the craft at its best, then you have to see As Good As It Gets. Nicholson plays a grouchy writer with some strange habits ... he's a germ freak. And while the story isn't about anything exceptional, except for "usual" circumstances in life, the characters are highly interesting, especially Nicholson's and Kinnear's characters. It's just a joy to watch great acting in this cute little story, and to relax as you watch this 2+ hour comedy. Helen Hunt is also doing a great job and she fits well into this triangle. You'll enjoy it!

Summary: Funny, warming and a window to another slice of life !
Review: This film is a little bit of an emotional roller coaster.

Nicholson gives his finer range of skills over to the character of Melvin, a wealthy, withdrawn, cinical, neo-hermit.

His senses are awoken by the plight of a waitress at his favourite diner. We accompany Melvin as his better nature comes to life and he encounters some more modern day dilemna's. A vicious attack by homophobes on his neighbour (which is vividly and shockingly portrayed)cracks open the true nature of Melvins heart.

We never really are allowed to understand Melvins true motivations,,,guess that's as good as it gets!

The movie is an uplifting experience, beautifully shot, dramatic but above all very watchable.

Summary: It's all About the People/Characters
Review: I loved this movie. My favorite part was the character devlopment. I loved seeing Jack Nicholson's character from start to finish. I also loved seeing the way the characters interact with each other, which was definately a primary point of the movie. It's all about people needing relationships. I highly recomend this movie, especially to those who like movies that make you think about your own life, or that has a lot to do with the characters.

The sound is never distracting, and the dialogue is always discernable. The video quality is excelent on this anamorphic DVD, with very few imperfections.

Summary: AN INCREDIBLE INSIGHT INTO HUMAN NATURE!
Review: I've seen this movie about six times in the last six weeks. We need other people! If we get cut off for some reason, we become cruel and mean. The movie starts with Melvin Udall (Jack Nicolson) throwing a cute little dog down a trash shute. He has OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder). There are many theories running through this film. The theory that if we are cut off from people and love nobody, we become incredibly cruel. The theory that we may need to open up to some obnoxious people

because we really care for them. The theory that we have to accept ourselves no matter what other people say. Even our parents. This triad comes smashing together in a suprising way. Simon, Melvin, and Carol. Bouncing off each other like crazy without knowing that they are in a growth process. This film is a true classic. But you may have to watch it a second time to really see the deep pain that each of the three characters is experiencing. Beautifully acted. Beautifully directed. Academy awards to Jack Nicolson and Helen Hunt.

Summary: What if this is as good as it gets? If so, I will take it!
Review: What do you get when you combine a Depressed-Homosexual, an Over-Protective-Single-Mother, and a Tactless-Homophobic-Obsessive Compulsive? Well, if it has superb acting and an original script, then it is "As Good as it Gets".

So what if the story is a stretch? So what if Jack Nicholson is, well, Jack Nicholson? This movie surprises and entertains throughout. Isn't that what they are supposed to do?

"As Good as it Gets" has a wonderfully original script. The three primary players gel into a perfect team. You never know what Nicholson will say next and this trait is found in all the characters of the story. My absolute favorite scene, is the "Hospital Scene." It is pure comic genius on a very human level.

Rent it, buy it, borrow it or steal it. But you have to see for yourself. You may just find yourself a new favorite "Romantic Comedy."

The DVD has the standard extras, complete with a commentary version. Missing however is the movie Trailer.

Summary: I think of a man,and then I take away reason &accountability
Review: -How do you know women so well ?

-Well..., I think of a man , and then I take away reason and accountability.

I loughed so hard, Jack Nicholoson is superb on this one. He builds his character progressively through the movie, carefully though, in a role that could very easily be overshoot or downplayed. His looks and his actions are very convincing. This man really cant tell what is right and wrong to say. He really strugles hard to make a compliment. He suffers... And Jack Nickolson offers us a great performance.

As his neighbour calls him at some point, he is "...a horror of a human being". His worst nightmare is being touched by other people, he is so superstitious that he walks in strange patterns in order not to step on the lines of the street tiles and he brings his own packaged, sterile silverware to the one and only restaurant that he eats, always at a certain table, always served by a certain waitress, Helen Hunt. But besides all that, he progresses, slowly but steadily, and around him all the characters of the movie. And he does that not in an artificial transition but in a natural, step by step procedure. Marvelous performance. Of course the script is on his side, one of the smartest scripts that have come out of Hollywood for a long time. It's a must see for women and men alike.

Summary: Very Funny
Review: Jack Nicholson gives a great performance in this film and so does Greg Kinnear. Helan Hunt also gave a good performance but not in my opinion an Oscer winning one. Nicholson plays Melvin, a writer with obsesive compulsive disorder. When his normal waitress Carol quits her Job to look after her sick child, melvin decides to pay for their own private doctor. This starts a topsy turvey love story. Melvin tries hard to impress Carol throughout the film but every time he opens his mouth he makes things worse. Nicholson has some very funny lines in this movie which makes it a very funny movie who everyone should enjoy.

Summary: I laughed I cried
Review: I have to admit that before I saw this movie I thought it was just going to be one of those movies just for females. I was pleasantly suprised right from the beginning. The movie is hilarious. Jack Nicholson makes you laugh throughout the movie. The basic plot is Jack Nicholson's character developing as a person from a selfish obsessive compulsive jerk to a caring fairly normal individual. Everyone who is in this movie is perfect for the part they play. I know that in this review all I have talked about is how funny the movie is, but it is truly touching also. If you're the type that has been known to shed a tear during a love story this film won't leave you dry eyed.
