Summary: no matter what...
Review: this film will remain near the top of my a-list until I meet my untimely (as they always are) end. I, being the horrible young person (19) that I am, still find myself a kindred spirit to good ole' Ferris. No matter how much times seemingly change, teenagers remain essentially the same... When first I viewed this spectacular film, i was awed with how closely it resembled how i felt and acted (or at least wanted to act)... girls, parents, friendship, and, of course, the undue stress that came with high school. These things are timeless, and contrary to what some persons may believe, are just as substantial today as they were in '86 when the aforementioned film was first released. This is a film to adore, to laugh with, and to reminisce with.

Summary: Oh My Gawd
Review: Could this movie be the best teenage movie ever made...i think it can. There is nothing that can be said, for words could never do this movie justice. Thank the world for Matthew Brodrick.

Summary: A comedic classic!
Review: I am normally a fan of drama when it comes to movies, so I wasn't expecting much from Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Fifteen minutes into the movie, however, I started laughing very hard, and did not stop till the movie's hilairious ending. The humor in this movie is always fresh and witty, and Matthew Broderick delivers laughs with absolute perfection. This film classic is a constant reminder to us all, that sometimes we just need a "day off."

Summary: Teens Today DO Like it!
Review: Okay, I don't know where most people get their ideas about teens today from, but it's obviously not the BIG picture. I'm 16 and I saw this movie in a classroom filled with high school freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors two weeks ago--and we loved it! (I came to this site to BUY the movie)We were laughing and REALLY into it. (We were even leaning forward in our seats in the end, hoping that the school bell wouldn't ring before we got to see the end.) You hardly EVER see an entire ROOM FULL of students actually PAYING ATTENTION to what the teacher is showing, let alone enjoying it. So, take it from a REAL teen, "Unless they're weird, you kids will [love] it!"

Summary: The classic school ditching movie!
Review: "Save Ferris", this was the message pasted and said all over northern Illinois! Ferris Bueller ditches school, picks up his best friend and borrows the friends fathers car (a nice one at that) and picks up his girlfriend to go on a great series of adventures in Chicago.

Jeffery Jones (Mr. Rooney) is the school's principal who's being tricked by Ferris Bueller. Mr. Rooney wants to ruin Ferris Bueller for ditching school, but Mr. Rooney doesn't know who he's dealing with!

Summary: A cult classic!
Review: This movie has it all: laughs, drama, music, you name it. I really enjoyed this movie the first time I saw it and I still enjoy it. This is one of those movies that you don't get sick of after you watch it over and over again. In my opinion, this movie is by far better than the "other" high school movies like The Breakfast Club, and is still John Hughes' best. A must-see for any high-schooler!

Summary: A definite classic for Generation X!
Review: The Gen-X term wasn't used when this film came out, but the teens that flocked to see it were later put into that category. If you attended high school in the '80s, it's your duty to see this film.

A mild-mannered computer hacker prefers to enjoy the better things in life. A tongue-in-cheek look at school administration and a day of hookie for Ferris and his two closest friends. Some mild language, but no sex or violence... a teen film that's ok for kids to see.

Unlike some more modern teen-targeted films like "American Pie," the characters do not have short-sighted goals like "getting laid by Prom," but to expand the relationships with their significant other and their parents.

Characters are affluent (helps to explain their unlimited resources... computers, sound effects machines, race cars), but somehow seem down to earth and centered.

I can't imagine what it's like to be a teen today, but I still enjoy this film now that I'm in my 30s. Everytime it comes on tv, I watch it and still laugh at the same scenes.
