Summary: What I Thought
Review: I really liked this movie. It was funny, it was sad, it made me laugh, it made me cry. Mandy Moore can act. Personally I thought her strong point wasn't being a singer, she's a better actress. Shane West was really good too.

This movie made me want to read the book. And although, the book and movie are completely different; some important things remain: In the book and the movie Mandy's character (Jamie) is super sweet with a big heart. She changes Shane's character's (Landon) life in the book, as she does in the movie.

What I didn't like was how fast that they fell in love. I know that there are romances like Romeo and Juliet, who easily fell in love, but in the book, it seemed as if Landon wasn't sure about his feelings.

The play they did was different. One interesting fact though, when Jamie says to Landon, not to fall in love with her and doesn't tell him at that point her secret. In the book, Jamie says to Landon that he can't be in love with her and that they can only be friends and then she tells him why.

I did like when Landon helped Jamie in the movie by achieving her dreams, although it wasn't in the book.

Both the movie and the book made me cry, so I can't say which one is better. They're both good and if you've read the book and seen the movie, you know how different they are and how only Jamie stays the same, the innocent and sweet girl with a big heart.

On the ending, lol..she does get the guy, but the ending is different in the book than the movie. In the book, you're supposed to just figure out what happens, kinda like making up your own ending. In the movie, they finish it up for you.

Summary: I WATCHED, I LAUGHED, I CRIED!!!
Review: I HAVE TO ADMIT I THOUGHT THIS WAS JUST GOING TO BE AN AVERAGE MOVIE WITH ANOTHER SINGER/ENTERTAINER TRYING TO MAKE IT BIG ON THE SILVER SCREEN..... NOTHING COULD BE FARTHER FROM THE TRUTH. I WAS SIMPLY AMAZED BY THE ACTING OF THE ENTIRE CAST, ESPECIALLY MANDY MOORE. THIS GIRL HAS LIMITLESS POTENTIAL. I'VE SEEN THE MOVIE TWICE AND BOTH TIMES LEFT ME WITH TEARS IN MY EYES. THIS MOVIE HAS GOT IT ALL. I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL IT COMES OUT ON DVD. OH YEAH AND THE SOUNDTRACK IS GREAT ALSO,IT INCLUDES MANDY'S NEW SONGS "CRY" AND "ONLY HOPE"....... WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR GO CHECK IT OUT!!!

Summary: For once the movie exceeds the book!
Review: I admit that the reason I originally went to see this movie was b/c of one of the scenes in the preview involving Mandy Moore and Shane West. It went something like this...
Landen- I might kiss you
Jamie- I might be bad at it
Landen- that's not possible!
The movie was a sleeper at the box office but I have a feeling it will rake in the bucks once it comes out on DVD! It is such a pleasure to watch a movie that doesn't contain the noted sex scenes and extreme swearing that have become typical of most Hollywood movies these days.
I ran out and bought the book after seeing the movie and was sorely disappointed by its contents. As an English major, I rarely find the movie to be better than the book...but in this case I will make an exception. So for those of you who are wondering which one to get first, I'll save you the trouble of having to decide - buy the DVD instead!

Summary: A True Movie To Remember.
Review: If you walk out of the theater after this movie without a single tear on your face or that gut-wrenching feeling in your heart, then you have no emotions, like a Star Trek Vulcun. "A Walk To Remember" truly inspired me and has become my all-time favorite movie since Labyrinth, yes I mean that. This is not another movie that stars some female like Brittney and jumps and prances her way through the end credits just to end up in second show theater only two weeks after the movie just came out. No No. Pop, top 40, award-winning young singer Mandy Moore does show her singing talent in a beautiful play scene in this movie, but also acts, and I mean act, not just laugh and prance around to promote herself. The movie starts with a young boy, Landon, who is self-centered, has his own cling of trouble-making friends, a rebel to society, who is wasting his life away when he has so much potential and so much to give. Landon, getting caught for such acts, as punishment, is forced to take place in many things that will help him find himself. He is enrolled in many activities that include one of his classmates, a very religious, not-so-famous, Jamie (Played by Mandy Moore), who is outgoing, yet mysterious in her own way. She sets goals for herself, is true to life and loves her dad who is a reverand, devoted in every way to what she does and carries so much faith. With the two being together, Landon developes the feelings for Jamie that she already secretly has for him. Together, they help one another discover themselves. Landon learns to not always try to be the center of attention and be loyal, caring, outgoing. Jamie gets to learn from Landon what it is like to be a high school senior in a positive manor. One aspect I like is how the movie shows how cruel teens and people can be to one another and what an impact it really has on the victim. But this movie is unique, it has Landon sticking up for the victim, Jamie and slowly gaining the respect of his friends/former friends and getting them to see things through his new perspective. Jamie has been sick with cancer we later learn, and Landon sticks by her every step of the way and does everything she ever wished for on her self list of things to do. What I like is this movie does not focus on the daily 24/7 fact that we need to find a cure for cancer because we have not done so so far. Rather, it focuses on what one person (Landon) can do to make a difference in the cancer patient's (Jamie) life by keeping her healthy by laughing and experiencing new things together, making her feel like a normal person and not an outsider. "A Walk To Remember" captures every emotion. The movie starts with thrill and excitement, to peer pressure issues, to learning lessons, goals, morals, to happiness, anger, and sadness. I love how the movie directors/writers mixed happiness with sadness together. There is no dragging on of one single emotion or scene at a time. Truly a great movie for any age to see. It can make one more open-mined about life and appreciate what is right in front of us and not take things for granted. Take a "walk" to your theater now before it's too late. If it's too late, then buy the DVD, it's an investment with no regrets and you will always have a great movie to "remember"

Summary: Remembering "A Walk..."
Review: "A Walk To Remember" is a story about the way two people of very different lives find a love and soulmate-like bond in the most natural way. Although, yes, the movie does not completely correspond with the novel by Nicholas Spark, the tale gives the average ho-hum single person hope that there is potential in the everyday person you may meet. Someone like Landon (played by Shane West), as rebellious and undoubtable witty is as realistic as that guy you'd always seen passing by the halls. The virginal(of many distinctions) Jamie (played by Mandy Moore) portrays an individual with a spirit beyond her years, seeking a true fufilling life. When the two worlds collide, the story makes an impact that many people can relate to. The actors, both West and Moore bring the expirence of a first love and finding that special someone to a new realization. Showing that when you do find that love of your life, the bonds you make will change your life forever. The movie appeals to both the younger generation with the setting of high school life with all the teen angst and follies; to the older generation, with the inclusion of the relationships between parent and child. From the beginning, the movie had me hooked, the music throughout the film keeps you in tune with the unfolding story. It had hit home for me in the way Jamie and Landon's relationship had evolved from friendship to love. So yes, it did personally touch me, thus enhancing my interest completely to the movie. "A Walk To Remember" gives the viewer a look into the world of new love, new beginnings, new perspectives on the stars and what fate may bring you. A sweet story, and a great poetic meaning behind "A Walk To Remember" attracts all from the romantic fiend to the most cold-hearted boyfriend that refused to watch it, yet, ended up crying along with you. :)

Summary: A movie to remember!!
Review: This movie sure was something to remember.I cried, laughed,
and I went through several other obvious emotions. At first my mom just went because of me but in the end she was crying with me.I couldn't believe all of those bad reviews. Some people(in my opinion)have bad taste.Mandy and Shane did a wonderful job and they both worked very hard to bring us a movie of a life time. After I saw the movie I had to read the book too.The
feeling I got from that movie was incredible. It's just terrific that a girl that doesn't quite fit in can fall in love with a boy who is completely opposite of everything she believes in.
Opposites do attract in this movie.I strongly encourage you to see it!!!!!!!!

Summary: To Be A Better Person
Review: This movie will positively move you...to be a better person. I was filled with so many different emotions. This of course was due to an absolutely amazing story-line. You not only relate to the characters but rather put yourself in their shoes. Mandy Moore and Shane West performance made that task even easier. What a great combination! The portrayal of their characters was undeniably touching. You leave the theater with an appreciation for the gift of life...AND an overwhelming desire that your life will somehow touch another.

Summary: When can I buy it?!
Review: I loved this movie. It was clean, it uplifted, it made me smile, it made me cry. We need more movies like this. The acting was superb and the story hit close to home. The music was great too--I can't stop listening to the soundtrack.

Summary: A Walk To Remember!
Review: Personally I love the movie and I can't wait for it to come out on video because it is the best in the world. The movie is the best because in the beggining Shane West is the bad boy in town and is one of the jocks. He is never ever going to fall in love with Mandy Moore. So in the end he does. But I don't want to give away in the ending.
