Rating: Summary: Great movie Review: Landon Carter (Shane West) is the popular bad boy of Beaufort, North Carolina. The last thing he expected was to fall in love with Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore), the kind and generous, Bible-toting daughter of the town minister. First of all, I want to ask all the critics out there: why the bad reviews? This movie is fantastic, and is the first teen flick that doesn't deal with sex or drugs, etc. Mandy Moore (the pop princess who was once called a worthless clone of Britney Spears) gives a touching, memorable performance as Jamie, and Shane West plays Carter very well. The rest of the cast - including Daryl Hannah as Carter's mom - also give real depth to their characters. The script based on the Nicholas Sparks novel is excellent, as is the direction by Adam Shankman (who also did "The Wedding Planner"). This movie also scores in the visual department, as well as everything else. In conclusion, if you're looking for a healthy antidote to the bad teen movies crowding the theaters, definitely check out "A Walk to Remember."
Rating: Summary: A sweet teen flick that really stands out! Review: If you ask me some of these teen movies that are coming out keep getting worse in the ways of sex and drugs and drinking. Being a teen myself I felt that this movie was a real quality movie. Sure there was some foul language in it but compared to something like Crossroads, where the whole point of that movie was for Britney Spears to lose her virginity, it seems like a totally innocent teen love story. People seem to think that teens love movies with sex and drugs and think that we think that this kind of stuff is sweet or funny. But I was utterly revolted. A Walk To Remember is a sweet movie and it shows that teens don't have to be watching a movie with sex or drugs or violence to keep them entertained. Besides that Shane West and Mandy Moore really seemed to have a connection on the screen that just wrapped the movie up into a present of hugs, smiles, and tears. Needless to say, I really loved it.

Rating: Summary: Bring a box of Kleenex. Review: A Walk to Remember is the best movie I've ever seen. I'm sure you've heard that this is a tear-jerker because it's so sad, well, I balled my eyes out all five times I saw it, but not because it was sad. I cried with joy, being how real love is in the movie, I mean, A Walk to Remember was the first actual movie that I saw showing love. I really didn't even know what love was until I saw it. I'm very obsessed with the movie, having the screensaver on my computer, the movie downloaded onto my computer, the movie poster, my own fan site for it, my binder decorated with pictures and movie stubs from the movie, I post on its message board, I own the book, I think you've gotten the idea. This movie is definitely worth buying, and watching over and over again. Mandy Moore and Shane West did a wonderful job, having great chemistry. See A Walk to Remember, you won't regret it.

Rating: Summary: The Best Movie Review: Me and my best friends went to see 'A Walk To Remember' 2gether expecting a lot and get more than expected, this movie is the best.Coming out of the theather we were some of the only ones crying well bawling. But,everyone (including us) was talking about how great it was. This movie has a 'true' love story in it.When it first startes landon(West) is a care free teen, who shares a 'bad boy' reputation with his friends, is colt being imature and forced to be in the "Drama Club's" spring play. While he makes up for what he did he gets to know Jamie Sullivan(Moore) better and finds himself "Falling In Love" with her.Jamie has a "goody-goody" reptation. She olny does what God would want her to do.Her answer to every problem is to pray. After they "Fall In Love" the movie takes a dramtic twist. The book and movie are very different but are both extremly good(movie being better in my opinion). In the movie Landon ask Jamie what her goals in live are.She tells him some things off her"list".Some being married the chursh har perents were married in,being in 2 places at once, getting a tatoo, and seeing the stars from a telliscope.Landon does all of these things for her.He gives her a fake tatoo, has her stratel the Virgina;North Carolina line, makes her a telliscope to look at the stars out of the night he propesses, and marries her in the same church her mother and father were married in.He stickes up for her when his friends play a really harsh trick on her.But most importantly loves her for her. This story reinds me of my best friend and her boyfriend plus me and my boyfriend. Her and her BF cuz they fell in loves and she never really even liked the guy till I intodusted them.Me and my BFuz i'm saved and a good chistian while my BF isent and we talk anbout it and I have changed him a little bit.To sum it up this is the best movie and I highly recomend it for any age, on a date, hangin with the girls(of guys) whatever you are doin go see it of buy it on VHS or DVD. But you have to see it.
Rating: Summary: absolutely loved it Review: This is, without a doubt, one of the most outstanding movies out there. The acting is excellent and it's impossible not to be touched by the story. Mandy Moore and Shane West deliver powerhouse performances that you can't go wrong with. Mandy Moore is sweet and faithful Jamie Sullivan, an outcast who probably has more inner strength and confidence than any other girl in her school. Shane West is Landon Carter, the "popular" one--the "bad boy." He gets himself in quite a mess when a foolish prank flops mercilessly, but does Jamie have the potential to change him? You bet she does--and she does it in a way that leaves you awestruck. I think this is the kind of movie that could leave a lot of individuals motivated to become better people. My favorite part was when Jamie was being laughed at by pretty much the entire school, and she started to cry, and she spun around to leave and there was Landon, ready to catch her and hold her. It's like she literally fell into his arms--lemme tell you, it choked me up! It was so beautiful and touching, it's....I can't even find the words for it...it's just very comforting and tearjerking. "A Walk to Remember" has gotten very good reviews and positive feedback. I can see that it has touched many people and delivered many beautiful messages. What made this movie so successful? Why is it inspiring so many to improve themselves and work to be more strong about their beliefs? Well, there are a ton of little things in this film that made it turn out so well, but I can tell you one thing: what made it so refreshing and lovable was the VALUES stressed. This is no typical teen movie. It's kind of like a mentor presented as a film. They certainly did an excellent thing by casting Moore and West as the lead roles--they helped bring the characters from the book to life and make them beautiful and inspiring. Obviously, "A Walk to Remember" hasn't been considered for an Oscar nomination or anything like that, but I believe with all my heart that it should have been. The people who created this movie were courageous--they didn't go for the everyday "teen movie" label. They took a chance and produced something that went straight for the heartstrings. The theater needed a movie like this, and they couldn't have picked a better time to release it. I watched this movie for the first time with my eyes glued to the screen, completely amazed and practically at a loss for words. That's how good it was. Some movies are just so beautiful and incredible, you don't know exactly how to describe them. "A Walk to Remember" is one of those movies. I have written a full review on it, and I still feel like I haven't been able to totally express how outstanding I think it really was. Mandy Moore is indeed a great role model for young girls. She's the first young singer I know who has put herself over the top with her debut starring role in a movie. To me, she wasn't the type who just waltzed in and said, "All right, here I am--I'm a singer and I'm gonna do a movie, too!" I think she tried really hard with "A Walk to Remember," and she couldn't have done a better job. I think Mariah Carey and Britney Spears did a fine job with their first movies, but it's my personal opinion that Mandy Moore really stepped up and helped prove that singers CAN make memorable and beautiful movies. Mandy's role as the snotty high school cheerleader in last year's "The Princess Diaries" was kind of like her just going out there and laying it thick with the nasty comments and such. "A Walk to Remember" was a completely different formula. Jamie Sullivan was so deep and complex, Mandy Moore had to be completely locked into the role because this responsibility was the type that required her to BECOME the character. She pulled it off with courage and ability. She may be a singer converting to the acting business, but this is one girl who can do it. I absolutely loved the beauty and courage that came out of Jamie and Landon's relationship. I'm no expert on love, but I'm pretty sure that Moore and West showed us what it's all about. The typical teen movies out there are entertaining and enjoyable, but so many of them have gotten stuck into the same formula: you have to go to those extra, extra measures to get what you want out of the relationship. Well, what about the love and mutual respect? What about the understanding and acceptance of people as they are? THAT'S what it's about, and THAT'S what "A Walk to Remember" leaves you thinking. Beautiful, beautiful movie that deserves all the recognition it's received. If you don't at least give it a try, then you're really missing out, because it's among the best.
Rating: Summary: One of the Most Romantic Stories of All Time!!! Review: I read the book the week before I saw the movie, and by far I thought it stayed with plot of the book then most movies today. Ok, I admit I laughed when I heard Mandy Moore was doing a movie, but what got me was the trailers played before the release. She totally fit the part, no one could pull off the innocence. I was so intrigued by the trailers, so I bought the book and 2 weeks later went to see the movie and I was blown away by both Mandy Moore and Shane West performances. You laugh and cry just as much as when you read the book if not more so. This is the sweetest most beautiful story of first true love of innocense. I have the movie pre-ordered so I can own both DVD and VHS. This movie and the book is for all ages. And can I say how wonderful it is to go to a movie that isn't overly done with curse words and just ironically doesn't have any sex, drugs, or drinking to get the plot to make sense. I suggest everyone to read the book before you get the movie. The movie is brought to today's standards set in 1996 instead of '50's. If anything the movie gives more twists and turns but still pretty much stays true to the book written by Nicholas Sparks. The book and movie is a must have for a hopeless romantics to add to their own home library. It will truly take you on a rollcoaster ride of emotions and leave you with a feel good feeling in the end. You can't get enough of it by the end which makes you wanna reread it or rewatch it over and over again. It will leave tears in your eyes by the end and it will truly make your heart skip a beat numerous times!
