Summary: C'mon give em a break....
Review: I honestly don't care what all the critics say. I actually liked this movie a lot, despite my initial low expectations for it. People, believe me, the trailer does not do this movie justice. I really did go in thinking that this was going to be another teen "Oh, I love you! Oh, I love you too!", sappy movie. But I was pleasantly surprised and I think this movie is very inspirational, in that it inspires faith, love and hope without overdoing it and one of the few movie adaptations that actually made me go and buy the book. Trust me, I don't read often, so that says something. I think that if you walk away and actually care about the characters in a story, then they must have did something right, and this is one of those.

Summary: An Unassumingly Tender Romance.
Review: "A Walk to Remember" is a beautiful film that shines a ray of hope for the future of teen-oriented motion pictures. Based on the best-selling novel by Nicholas Sparks, "Walk" is a sweet and incredibly sincere love story that manages to go right to the viewer's heart and stay there throughout the duration of the film. It tugs all the right heartstrings and hits every right emotional chord. One of the film's strong points is the way it shows its audience that not all teenagers are as heinous and crude as Hollywood likes to think. Yes, teenagers have the ability to love for real, and that is "Walk"'s wonderful message. Just after the film's midpoint, there is a revelation that is neither startling nor original, and the viewer perhaps feels cheated...at first. The last twenty minutes or so go into full-on tearjerker mode, yet it works...exceptionally so. Steering clear of all excess "cheese", so to speak, "Walk" ends on a remarkably moving and poignant note. Mandy Moore effortlessly makes the transition from music to film. Her portrayal of Jamie is at times playful, at times inspiring, and, at other times, powerfully emotive. It is a fantastic performance. Shane West (though he looks like he's pulled right out of a TV infomercial for hair-care products) gives a fine performance as well. He has appeared in only a few minor films, yet his first leading role establishes him as a serious young actor who is here to stay. The film isn't flawless, but it comes close enough to earn my immeasurable respect and love. Through all the tears, "A Walk to Remember" is an honestly touching film that shows the audience what real love is all about.

Summary: a perfect love story!
Review: this is a very inspiring movie. A lot of guys refuse to see this movie. they're excuse is "it's a chick flick" come on guys lighten up its a perfect love story. and to me its a way a guy should treat his girl. Mandy moore plays a perfect role in this film. she hits all the emotions like they're nothing. Shane west knows what he's doing in this movie. hes the sweetest guy a girl would ever want. He completely turns his life around without caring what his friends think about his all bad attitude. Every girl in the theater left with tears in their eyes. It really hits you hard after you see how Jamie acted compared to your life. It helped me keep my life on the strait and narrow path to success. Just take my word that it's a wonderful movie and go out and buy it on video/dvd!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Sweet & Typical
Review: Can you remember those typical movie romances? Here this is... The difference. Mandy Moore, singer of songs like "Candy" & "I wanna be with you." Stars in this. Shane West quotes, "I just thought this was another pop singer trying to act." Yet his reaction is different. He appreciates her talent. The plot is typically the same, except for the romance. The romance is mature. I guess you can say for teenagers, this is a tearjerker. Its a chick flick for sure. Shane is full of heart in this movie, It will probably bring a tear to your eye. A must see- though.

Summary: pretty hard to dislike this movie
Review: I can't get enough of this movie. Actually, I've only seen it twice in the theaters, but I can assure you that I'll be buying it the day it comes out on video, and I won't be able to stop watching it. That's how good it is. "A Walk to Remember" presents great values of love without overdoing it or being cheesy. Something about this movie makes me wonder, "How could anyone say anything bad about it?" Tons of teenagers are watching this movie...and they're liking it! That says a lot. I have seen tons of teen movies in the past, and I always enjoy going to one with some friends when there's a new one in the theaters, but not very many of them really get to me. Very few teen movies move me and stick with me after I leave the theater. "A Walk to Remember" is not like that at all. It's a teen movie that millions of people seem to love and be inspired by. Some of those scenes haunted me when I looked back on them later on, because they were so beautiful and touching. Mandy Moore and Shane West seemed to be born to play roles like these. To see a guy like Landon Carter (played by Shane West) get involved in a dirty prank and nearly mess up his whole life and then meet a girl like Jamie (Mandy Moore) who gives him faith is major. Trust me, this movie is like nothing you've ever seen. It teaches you a lesson without ramming religion down your throat or being too preachy. I know that this movie certainly did some good things for my faith. I love it so much....little by little, it's becoming one of my favorite movies of all time. Go see this movie now, or buy it when it comes out on video/DVD. Then you'll understand why it's changing people's lives so much. Like I said, it's like nothing you've ever seen in your life. Watch it, and give yourself something to love and believe in.

Summary: A Positive Perspective
Review: Many may find this movie to be a teen movie and in some cases it is. I found it to be a positive love story with a christian character shown in a refreshingly positive light. As a christian woman in today's society I am constantly disappointed in the slanted view that movie makers have about christians. I enjoyed Mandy's character for her honesty, wit, charm, and simple faith. Aside from the profane language and some questionable behavior on the part of some of the 'popular kids' I think "A Walk to Remember" is one of my all time favorites and I can't wait to buy it on DVD.
