Rating: Summary: Easily the greatest Desert Island disc ever Review: Ask me to take only ONE movie to a desert island, and I'll pick Caddyshack every single time. This movie is Rodney Dangerfield at his finest. Ted Knight plays a perfect role, and delivers a TON of classic lines. Any college student worth their salt knows at least ten or twenty lines from this movie.5 stars all the way.
Rating: Summary: Cinderella Boy Review: Some people find golf as a serene experience. It can be a sport that allows you to get back to nature, even if it is ever so briefly. Then there are those who doubt its value. Any sport that an 80-year-old man can beat me at... is not a sport. Whatever your opinion of golf will not effect your appreciation of the film CADDYSHACK because, although the film takes place for the most part on a golf course and the finale takes place during a crucial golf tournament, this is pure comedy. To be a member at Bushwood Country Club, it seems you must be an eccentric and a target for humor. The film follows the story of a young caddy named Danny. Unsure of his future, he tries to capture the caddy scholarship given by the Country Club. Along the way, he finds it beneficial to brown-nose Judge Smails (Ted Knight), a prominent member at the club and [wrong end] of many of the jokes. Even with a free-minded beautiful niece and a nose-picking geeky nephew in town, Smails has more to worry about when an undesirable crass millionaire begins to stomp on his grounds. Rodney Dangerfield provides rapid-fire insults in a way only he could have done. Also on board at the Bushwood is the course pro Ty, played by 'love em or hate em' funny man, Chevy Chase. This is one of his better roles as he is in more of a supporting capacity. But, the greatest achievement in CADDYSHACK involves a subplot between the assistant greens keeper, Karl and a gopher. Bill Murray's portrayal is one of the few things that stand up after multiple viewings. His commitment to a strange caricature is legendary and oft mimicked. Dan Aykroyd did a horrible take on a similar role in the ridiculous sequel. CADDYSHACK is not the most intellectual film ever. In fact, its best if your brain is set to rinse during the film, which has been elevated to 'classic' status. The DVD has a nice audio video transfer and a 20-year look back at the production. This film and a dancing gopher also launched an important era for Kenny Loggins with his song "I'm alright!" "Ewww.. Somebody step on a duck?"
Rating: Summary: Hilarious Golf Classic! Review: What can be said about Caddyshack that hasn't already been said before? From gopher to the Baby Ruth in the pool to Bill Murray's legendary performance as Carl the Caddy, this movie raised the bar on how sports comedies should be judged. The fab four of great comedians in this movie (Dangerfield, Murray, and Chase, Ted Knight) put on a show in this movie with countless funny moments. Dangerfield is a misfit to the game and comes in and causes trouble with Ted Knight, the snobby golfer with the hot niece. Michael O'Keefe doesn't provide as many laughs as the Fab Four in this one, but plays a pretty good role as Danny Noonan, the caddy at Bushwood. Even though this movie is 20 years old, it is still a hilarious comedy that is in the collections of many golfers and non-golfers!
Rating: Summary: What a classic! Review: What else needs to be said about this classic comedy? The movie has stood the test of time. The only thing I didn't like about the 20th Anniversary Edition dvd was the fact that it didn't have the letterbox version of the movie. I would have liked to have seen it in letterbox, just like it would have been seen in a theater over 20 years ago. But, to make up for it, there is a short film called the 19th Hole which is commentary from different actors that were in this classic. There are some great stories and outtakes also.
Rating: Summary: Another review Review: ... POSITIVE STUFF: has some HILARIOUS scenes,Bill Murray and Dangerfield are funny, the gopher is a good character. NEGATIVE STUFF: Too much filming is spent on the relationship between Danny and Maggie,It can get really boring, too long.
Rating: Summary: A classic Review: This is a classic comedy with Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, and Bill Murray. I don't know of anyone who hasn't seen it, in fact most of my friends can and do quote large portions of the dialogue at will. If you are living in a cave somewhere and haven't seen it do so, it is one of the funniest movies around.
Rating: Summary: The Best Comedy Ever! Review: You just can't help to watch this movie over and over again! It's the Best! It beats any other comedy, ever made! Chevy Chase is Ty Webb, a new ager snoby golfer. Rodeny Dangerfield is a real estate builder, Ted Knight is a judge, who owns Bushwood Country Club, and Bill Murray is a sloby greenskeeper. This is Movies best foursome ever! They were both hilarious! Buy Caddyshack, and keep it in your dvd player for ever. Carl would be proud.
Rating: Summary: Classic Review: A classic. See Chevy Chase and Bill Murray at their best.

Rating: Summary: ONE OF THE FUNNIEST MOVIES EVER MADE? NOT REALLY! Review: This was NOT one of my favorite movie comedys. The only Actor who was funny was dangerfield. This film contains an overdose of adult content, and nudity. Some scenes had absolutely nothing to do with the country club. And it was suppose to be a golf movie. Some scenes were funny but not to make the movie good. Chase walks right through his role as the goofy Ty Webb.Murray tries to be funny with his gopher wisecracks but just isn't.
