Summary: Just Buy It!
Review: Super Troopers delivers on multiple comedy fronts and it all boils down to chemistry. The Broken Lizard troupe, virtually unknown before this project, could be playing cards and I would find it very amusing. And although the "Troopers" deserve a lot of credit, Brian Cox (as the Captain) is really the glue that bonds these characters. At the risk of touching hallowed ground, his effort is almost like the Ted Knight role in Caddyshack. His timing and lines are some of the funniest of all. Contrary to the other reviews, I found the plot to have some degree of substance and the characters themselves to be very identifiable. Yes, it isn't for all people but the comedy isn't cheapened by brash violence or "ultra gross" plot devices that drive the more recent popular comedies. It also has great tempo and never really dies down or have any major soft spots. I can think of several comedies that hit a brick wall after about 30 minutes when the novelty wears off and they try to "develop" the characters (think Office Space). No, Super Troopers has plenty of surprises and doesn't let the audience down. And in some sort of way the audience cares about the fate of these guys, as if they were people you knew and can identify with. That is the key. Watch it and you will see. Chances are you will watch it again to see what you missed the first time!
On a final note, this movie is being fast tracked to cult status and one should watch it for cultural literacy purposes. So next time when your coworker says "quit pulling a Farva" you will know what it means.

Review: Bought this movie, which for me says a lot, I only buy the ones I love. And beyond that, I think that I have watched it at least 8 times in the past 4 months or so. If you like Commentarys buy it, if you like stupid humor (not like the naked gun Satires though) buy it, if you have a sense of humor buy it. Forget renting it, buy it, right now, hit purchase

Summary: Unusual, Unorthadox, UNBELIEVABLE!
Review: I remember the first time I was introduced to this movie. I was online chatting, and one user remarked to me, "That movie was so stupid! It was pointless, a waste of my time, and I never understood it!" It was then I drove to Blockbuster to rent it, and I later told the guy, "Understand it? See, that's your problem..."You never really "understand" it. It kind of reminds me of "Clerks", just a day in the life of a guy, one day, nothing particular. Same thing here, except more time passing by. You can just sense it, the directing, the filming, the humor, it's so...not a normal movie. Which makes it so interesting. Personally, as much as I dislike 'Farva' in the movie, he really is my favorite character. He reminds me of me...when I was 12 years old! This really is a movie you either love or hate, because you can only see two ways: 1) Try to understand it, or since that's impossible, 2) Just enjoy the creative humor. No matter if it's deadpan or slapstick, sarcastic or lively, this humor is very creative, and it flows easily, like one giant family of highway cops. How do you know, though? You can only figure it out on your own... So, if you're "all highway" and it's "primetime for crimetime", then go out and rent it. And prepare yourself. At the same time this is something you've probably never seen before, it may have quite a few lasting impressions on you. (And if you hate it the first time, watch it again. It only gets better... :) (And if you still don't want to watch it, just rent it for the first ten minutes of the film - it's what got me hooked the first time!) Summary: Good the second time
Review: Excellent laughs. The first time I saw this movie, I hated it. The next time I saw it I thought it was funny. The plot, as one writer said, leaves a lot to be desired, but I recommend the movie. I laughed (and still do) at it over and over again. The commentaries are funny too. I highly recommend the movie, just put the kids in bed first! We even nicknamed one guy "Farva" in honor, well not honor, but you'll understand.

Summary: Unsung Hero
Review: This movie adds dimension to sketch comedy. Jay Chandrasekhar is a GENIUS. I could watch this ten times in a row, and it would still be just as funny. I don't know why the Broken Lizard comedy troupe hasn't broken wide in the U.S. yet, but I now anticipate the event with great enthusiasm. This movie is a sleeper hit--it is, without question, one of the funniest (if not THE funniest) movies released during its release year. It is a hallmark for sketch comedy. I anxiously await the encore.

Summary: one of the funniest movies in the world
Review: I give this movie 5 stars for comedy, but the movie does not have a good plot. So, instead of giving this movie a perfect 5-out-of-5 rating, i chose to give Super Troopers a **** (4-star) rating.
The movie focuses upon wacky vermont state highway troopers who are nearing being shut down. To save their station they battle with the local spurbury police for a drug bust, murder investigation, and much more.
I highly recommend watching this movie although it compromises a good plot for a few good laughes.

Review: I couldn't help but crack up watching this movie. Definatley a B movie in terms of style and script, but a good time none the less. I also don't see the Police Academy comparison, and I don't think these guys were out to make the next Ben-Hur of police comedies. Just all around good fun. I would also like to see a sequal. ...

Summary: MOVE THAT GIGANTIC COTTON CANDY
Review: Disclaimer: This is not a "The Story Begins With..." movie. The plot is incidental. No one dies, discovers themselves, becomes a man/woman through struggle, or learns how true love feels. 'Dude, Where's My Car?' has a more solidly aligned plot. Tax, tags, title extra. Everyone should have that one friend who is overly sarcastic with bone-dry wit. If you do not, then you may not have an appreciation for this movie. Broken Lizard has assembled numerous scenes forced into a poor "boy meets girl" and "corrupt law enforcement" plotline. These scenes are individually funny, proving that this is simply top-notch sketch comedy. Each "joke" is simply a razor-sharp wit battle between characters (minus Farva) that doesn't wait for the laugh track to kick in. There is no plot synopsis because there is no plot. Unfortunately, some people who have seen this are inflicted with Smartest Guy in the Room syndrome (a rare infliction which forces the sufferer to see his/her opinion as correct and the 100 opposing opinions as incorrect.) If you don't like the content of "R" rated material, don't see this. If you require 2 hours of pre-recorded audio and video to change your life, look elsewhere. If you have that friend that never smiles, yet leaves all around him/her in tears and cramping, buy this movie. As another viewer deftly observes, it gets funnier each time. Soon, you too will be offering moustache rides to acquaintances and fitting "Meow" into unknown song lyrics and conversations. Fare thee well.

Summary: Brybili doesn't know what he's talking about
Review: this film is funny. it has its slow parts, just like every other losely plotted comedy. it's not meant to have a mind blowing plot, just some good natured humor. how can that brybili say the opening scene wasn't funny? i think it's genius. messing with the stoners, haha. i would imagine i would be pretty freaked out and confused if that happened also. i went into it with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised afterwards. Farva is hilarious. I love the fast food scene where he and the worker get into it.
