Summary: An Excellent Film
Review: A classic film of the 80's, INTO THE NIGHT combines humor with mayhem as well as excitement and suspense. Goldblum is perfect as an insomniac who desperately needs some thrill in his life and Pfeiffer's character is just what he needs. Together they help each other out while surviving a jewel caper. A great film overall and look out for cameos of John Landis, David Cronenberg, that "Body by Jake" guy, and the lovely Vera Miles, among others!

Summary: sleepy
Review: All Jeff wants to do is sleep but he can't so he drives around at night and hooks up with Michele who undresses in front of him and has a rocking body. They get into it with the mob and in the end Jeff fianlly goes to sleep with about 500 grand.

Summary: Early 80's LA reality unveiled
Review: From the creeping traffic to the obnoxious foreign nationals, from the sordid Hollywood streets to the ostentatious Marina district, from the miasmically bland aerospace office environment to the nightlife of the rich and famous, this film captures the very essence of Los Angeles in the early 80's. If you lived there at that time you experienced everything in this movie with the exception of hooking up with Michelle Pfeiffer! The uninitiated may find the plot line highly improbable. However, LA cognoscenti know that the plot line is only slightly improbable. And that's why we love it.

Summary: Good plot, but missing something. . .
Review: I rented this movie for the sole reason that David Bowie is in it. His performance was wonderful, yet extremely brief. Therefore I was highly disapointed. Granted, the movie wasn't too bad, Pfiefer and Goldblum are both wonderful, but Bowie was gyped. He is an amazing actor and should have had a bigger part, or at lease more time on screen. I suggest this movie for the sole reason of seeing his 2 small scenes.

Summary: He Gets By With A Little Help From His Friends
Review: In an effort to support Landis in his legal tribulations, a glittering array of Hollywood heavyweight directors and actors, with a rock star thrown in, toil as bit players and extras to make a manic movie with ultra-dry wit and tongue-in-cheek dialogue. Goldblum and Pfeiffer play their roles a little subdued compared to what is going on around them. It all makes for a well-constructed comedy that became an instant cult favorite. The more times the viewer sees it the more nuances and cameos jump out. Highly recommended!

Summary: See why Michelle is great...
Review: Intriguing plot, many twists and turns. Jeff Goldblum gets Michelle Pfeiffer in the end. Great elevator scene with the dog and the gunmen. The finally is worth the wait.

I really enjoyed the ride throught this movie; both stars did a great job moving the plot along.

If you have older children, this isn't a bad late night family movie...

Summary: Underrated gem.
Review: It's a shame. I don't know what's wrong with Universal; they've never really cared about this movie, it seems. -By that I mean they've never bothered to letterbox it. This movie never looked all that good on any of its video releases; I seem to remember it always looking pretty lousy, even on laserdisc. It's such a funny and exciting little thriller with a great (and sleepless) Goldblum, a tough and sexy Pfeiffer, an even sexier Harrold, a nasty Bowie, and lots of famous faces in cameos. -Enough reasons for a DVD, I should think !.

Summary: Timeless in LA -- Landis Dark Horse
Review: John Landis knows his characters and he knows LA. The unlikely match of a classy mistress and a nerdy engineer accidentaly thust together in never-ending LA.

Jeff Goldblum's dry delivery and Pfeiffer's quiet despiration produce (as strange as it sounds) a winning mix.

These people are achetypes in an endless city. The jokes all have that odd edge to them that verges on Lubesch.(sp?)
