Summary: Is Vivian Vance the real star?
Review: In all my years of watching 'I Love Lucy,' I always felt that Ethel (Vivian Vance) was the character who truly made the show delightful. We all love Lucy . . . and her comedic talents are exceptional-- but Vivian Vance just possessed some quality that really made her stand out. (I think she was just more believable, as a character, perhaps).

Anyway, the first episode on this DVD was all right-- but when 'Viv visits Lucy' . . . I think this episode provides some of the funniest scenes I've ever seen! A brief summary:

Lucy and Ethel-- whoops, I mean *Viv*-- are enjoying a friendly reunion, in the midst of which it is learned that Viv is worried about the hippie son of one of their friends. This son has allegedly become a real guitar-playing freak (who likes to wear his hair long and a giant watch as an earing). Lucy, naturally, decides that she and Viv ought to diguise themselves as hippies and find out what they can about this fellow.

Their costumes are hilarious and what becomes my all-time favorite scene is when they try to fit in with all the drugged-out hippies at a dance club. Lucy's method of dancing is funny-- but Viv . . . !!! I'm laughing just remembering it! The episode's story is, of course, quite ridiculous-- but the scenes with Viv make it just hilarious fun to watch, IMO.

Definitely worth seeing, if only for that one scene!
