Summary: Who Picked the Soundtrack for This Version?
Review: This is one of the great classic horror movies of all time. Too bad that, in this version, they completely screwed it up with a soundtrack that doesn't match the film at all!

Summary: Whats Hollywood doing wrong?
Review: Why does todays film makers thinkthat they have to use endless gore, violence and sex to get people intothe theatres. This movie proves the point that ifyou have the right actors-Max Schreck et.al. ,right background, lighting and script you can put together a horror film which doesnot depend on these things to besucessful.Although plagurism was involved inthe making of this film it is stilla master piece of its time.Very disturbing use of lights andshadows and sound and the excellantpart played marveously by Max Schreck make this movie one for all young would be directors, actorsand producers to study. a real textbook example of what can be rightabout film.

Summary: Interesting
Review: The DVD version of Nosferatu really cleaned up video and sound. Before, viewing the story text was difficult due to the old film, a messy green background, and small letters. Now the story text is clear, in large print, and easy to read. I'm not much of a fan of silent films, however this one caught my eye when my high school German II teacher showed it. Max Schreck was the perfect man to project the errie nature of Count Orlok. By today's standards, the film may seem a bit hokey, but it will always be a classic.

Summary: The suspense has never been equalled
Review: I first saw this movie in college and being a horror movie buff, found myself on a quest for a movie to rival it. During the following years, Nosferatu still remains my all time favorite. It amazes me how you can be so captivated and horrified by the silence. It's a true masterpiece.

Summary: A True "Undead" Classic!!!!
Review: A seasoned veteran of horror movies (more specifically, Vampire movies), I knew I would have to own this one. I still remember watching it for the first time in high school, thinking, this is great. I also remember the horror as I lay in bed that night, thinking Max Schreck was in my room. I was truly amazed that someone with such limited technology in filmaking could make such a classic, especially when so many modern, big-budget movies look too fake with all their computer graphics. This is a must for vampire lovers and movie buffs alike.

Summary: It's an awesome silent movie.
Review: I have only watched the film Nosferatu about 3 times already, and let me tell you, it's the most inspiring and most entertaining, and at the same time, most disturbing vampire film I have ever seen in my life. It' has the same plot as most Dracula movies thought, but it impresses people because of it's dark imagery, scary organ score, and last but not least, a very very UGLY and scary looking Dracula which in this film is called Nosferatu, or the Undead. Don't watch the remake, watch this one. It'll thrill you even if you don't like horror.

Summary: The original and still the best
Review: What can I say? Max Schreck's performance as the title character is so powerful, it has seeped its way into the works of Spielberg, Coppola, and popular culture at large. A fabulous film. The years have not tainted it nor reduced its shock and horror value. Watch it. For your own good. I dare you.

Summary: Great restoration for a great film
Review: Before SCREAM, THE EXORCIST, and THE SHINING, there was NOSFERATU, a brilliant piece of work by one of Germany's most famous and talented directors, F.W. Murnau (who also directed SUNRISE {1927}). David Sheppard once again does a fine job of restoring a fine film. The transfer on this film is quite good, considering the fact that the movie is over 70 years old. Sheppard has also included an interesting commentary that proves to be enjoyable and insightful. Don't miss this disc!
