Rating: Summary: Cute for toddler about to get a sibling Review: I got this for my 2 year old when I was expecting twins. She loved it, and still asks for it everyday. It is a cute way to show a toddler what it will be like to have a new baby in the house. I thought it was pretty entertaining (I liked the panic when Mama Bear went into labor), and reasonably realistic on a 2 year old level.
Rating: Summary: 2 year old loves it! Review: My 2 year old saw this story originally on Sesame Street in 3 different segments. We taped it and she asked for it so much we decided to buy the video. It's extremely entertaining for both our toddler and the adults as well. We think it's very realistic to have reservations about change but the video shows that change can be a good thing. My toddler is also very active but she will sit still for this video only. We love it!
Rating: Summary: Great for kids expecting a new sibling Review: My daughter got so much out of this video when we were expecting our second baby. It dealt with the doubts a kid might have about the new baby in a sensitive way, and showed how happy the older sibling was when his new sister finally came. We loved it, and have watched it over and over. It gave my daughter an idea of what to expect. And that's been invaluable to me.HIGHLY recommend!
Rating: Summary: We loved it! Review: My three year old loves this DVD! He asks to see it at least once a day. My husband and I like the fact that Baby Bear experiences both the positive and negative aspects of becoming a big brother. One of the clips of "real" people depicts a family having a third child, and one of the older siblings has Down's. I love that Sesame Street doesn't shy away from using kids with special needs and shows that they are just regular people like the rest of us. Also, scenes in the hospital show that it is not a scary place to be.

Rating: Summary: Pretty annoying and lacks realism Review: My two year old is EXCITED about having a new baby. She is not scared. She does not need to see or hear (from this video and library books we have checked out) negative reactions. So, maybe when the baby comes, she will be scared or react strangely, but this video was awful. I wouldn't recommend it. Also, it was way too long for an active toddler.
Rating: Summary: Great Video for Toddler Expecting a New Sibling Review: Our 2 1/2-year old boy loves this video. He showed little interest in it before his little sister was born but really enjoys watching it since she has joined our family because he can relate to little bear's experiences. It has helped him understand both the positive and negative emotions he was feeling about being a big brother, and has helped him understand why his baby sister cries and doesn't play with him yet. It is a great gift for any family expecting a new baby.
Rating: Summary: Sesame Street - Three Bears and a New Baby Review: Very cute dvd on bringing home a new baby & all the emotions the older sibling will go through. Very cute & entertaining. I was worried that my son would not be interested in this, but he will sit through it and ask questions. Definitely a worthy purchase for the family going from one baby to two...
Rating: Summary: Couldn't wait for it to end Review: We watched this video for the first (and probably last) time last night. What a snoozer! The video is far too long, and isn't designed for the short attention spans of most younger children. Also, there is a good deal of panicking and yelling when there is any mention of the mom going into labor (not only a poor example of how to react, but annoying as well). We were hoping that the video would have more segments of actual babies and families that were expecting, but unfortunately, there is only one short segment with non-puppet babies in it. Definitely not one of the better Sesame Street productions.
Rating: Summary: 2 year old loves it! Review: When this last Christmas rolled around, my husband and I wanted to buy our daughter some new movies, and this was included. As we're expecting our second child in June, we thought this would be a good DVD to help our duahgter cope with the new addition. I not only feel cheated out of the money spent for it, but as this lacks any real substance or entertainment, I feel cheated on the time spent watching it. It doesn't seem to bring a postive spin to an expanding family, but shows it's ok to panic and resent the new baby. I don't reccomend this to parents at all.
