Summary: The Most Erotic Movie Kiss Never Seen
Review: I saw this movie for the first time edited for TV in 1963 when I was 18. I subsequently watched it every time I saw it listed in a TV schedule. After a few viewings I had most of the script memorized. In the early 80's I was talking with a friend and we realized that we could both quote the movie. My kids gave me a laserdisk of it several years ago so I could see the wide screen version. I thought that really made a big difference and once set up two TV's next to each other playing the two different formats. I do have a life, including a husband, four sons, and a career, and I don't spend much time watching this movie anymore, but it is in a class by itself. I was so glad, when I saw Sleepless in Seattle, that I got it - I didn't have to go out and rent the movie to see what the references were all about. Admittedly, I could do without the songs and the kids (except for Brian Corcoran, the one stuck on the railing on the ship - where are he and his siblings now?), but Grant and Kerr are irresistible, and who can forget the kiss you don't see on the steps!

Review: A must see for all those romantic classic movie lovers out there. This is one of the best! The first time I watched it, I thought it started out a little slow, but once the relationship got underway, I just couldn't wait to see how it would end. I was certainly not disappointed. The story is excellent, the ending anything but predictable and the chemistry between Grant and Kerr is delightful. Cary Grant dazzles once more in his suave, sophisticated style. Deborah Kerr is every bit a lady, with just the right amount of witty charm. It is one that you will want to see over and over again, and if you're like me, you'll cry everytime like the first time you saw it. Don't forget that box of Kleenex!

Review: The scene where Grant notices a painting in Kerr's apartment prior to Kerr's classic line: "If you can paint, I can walk" is alone worth the price of admission. Although I personally prefer LOVE AFFAIR with Boyer and Dunne (of which this glossy number is a re-make), this version has grander production values and it's filmed in decent colour. My only real pet peeve is Nesbitt's interpretation of Nicki's Grandmother; I simply don't think she's effectively convincing (look at the marvelous Maria Ouspenskaya in the original, and you may get my drift!).

Review: this 1957 version of Leo McCarey's Love Affair is a remake to remember. Past the not-so-memorable musical numbers (except for the title track via piano version and French lyrics) and religious context of the film, An Affair To Remember is a must-see over and over. Yes, for women who like Rita Wilson's character in Sleepless In Seattle who go overboard in weeping over a movie. Yes, for those who are stuck in finding a date-video. Yes, for filmbuffs who are into Classics. Stay for witty scenes in the 1st half - Cary Grant in his element, Deborah Kerr - ever so elegant. Stay for the drama in the third half. Keep your Kleenex handy ! (I did . . . since I was 14)

Review: I love "An Affair to Remember" for many reasons. Most of all, I rate it right after "Casablanca" on my list of favorite films because it too deals honestly and in a heart-felt way about people and what they often feel for each other: simple yet passionate love. Nicky Ferrante and Terry McKay cannot really live without each other---now, that's how people who say that they're in love ought to feel, not in the mediocre or middling manner that one often sees in couples in the present. And Cary Grant, he's definitely "da man"---all we fellas out here can only hope to be so gracious, cool, and yet humbly self-aware as this guy. I have always watched Cary Grant for clues about personal deportment, appearance and dress, and how to treat those with whom I cross paths. Not that Deborah Kerr is a slouch---she is as feminine as I like (i.e., Audrey Hepburn), not to mention lively, lovely, and strong. "An Affair to Remember" has the kind of chemistry that all of our romances should have (if only we guys could all be like Cary Grant, we'd have it made)!

Review: As everyone appears to be saying, beautiful movie for men and women alike! Inspiring, charming, VERY romantic. Parallels to Sleepless in Seattle, but better. Takes us to a time when romantic movies didn't mean gratuitous love scenes, but character development and a passion under control. Don't miss it!

Review: Well I am only 18 years old and my mom made me watch this and I am glad because it gave me so many mixed emotions sad, glad and happy. It is so sweet how they still have the love for each other after all that they go through. Everybody has to see this. I cried my eyes out because it was such a happy ending!
