Summary: Best Movie of All Time
Review: In no other movie does the casting, directing, costuming, acting, editing, music, and story all come together like it does in Gone With the Wind. This is as close to a perfect movie as you can get. It is obvious why Vivien Leigh and Hattie McDaniel won Oscars, as they stand out in a cast of other wonderful stars. Do you recognize the 1950's Superman, George Reeves, as one of the Tarlton twins in the opening sequence? Of course, it helped tremendously that GWTW was adapted from a superior novel, and that David O. Selznick didn't know the meaning of the word "compromise." I must give this movie my highest recommendation.

Summary: Clark Gable is too mousey
Review: The movie is too long, is overkill Lesile Howard is too ugly to be Ashley Wilkes. Vivien Leigh is too British to be Scarlett O'Hara Clark Gable is too mousey and short to be Rhett Butler The whole movie about this bitchy woman whining. I give it a 2 out of 5 stars.

Summary: A really Really good Movie
Review: I think that this movie was a really good story about the cival war but I think that the Scarlett was a bit of a snob. The Characters were really well played and they acted out the parts really well. At the beginning of the movie the characters were very different then the were after the war which was at the end of the movie. For example Scarlett and her father were really close and they really loved each other very much but later on in the end of the movie he started to go a little crazy. I think that in reality there would not really be anybody like Rhett. I think that he was kind of a coward because he didn't go out to the war until near the end of the movie. But all in all I think that it was a really good movie.

Summary: One of the best movies ever made!
Review: Gone with the Wind is a truly wonderful and stunning movie. When you get to know the story of Scarlett O'Hara and the old South, you will get swept off your feet. The casting is one of the best in any movie I have seen. Who else but Vivien Leigh can play Scarlett and I don't think that Clark Gable's performance of Rhett Butler can ever be equalled. The costumes and scenery and music are the best and I'm not surprised that this movie won so many Oscars for them. If you haven't watched this film, I'm sure thath if you did, you would love it.

Summary: Incomparable!
Review: There will never be a movie like Gone With the Wind. It could never be made today because of the smothering mantle of political correctness (just imagine trying to get black actors today to play Mammie and Prissy and do it accurately!)This is a phenomenal work of art. David O. Selznick was the wizard who pulled it all together. If they tried finding Scarlett today, she would be as skinny as Helen Hunt, probably insist on wearing jeans during the hospital scenes and giving a speech somewhere about feminism. The shimmering color, sets, lighting, costumes and make-up still look as fresh today as they did in l939. And of course the cast made it immortal. Vivien Leigh is the real backbone of this best movie of all time. Her now known trace of manic depression may have actually enhanced her toughest scenes: on the hilltop a sunrise making her vow to God; and that glorious last scene on the staircase swearing to get Rhett back. This is a masterwork to be treasured, passed on down to generation and generation into the next millenium.

Summary: Really a great movie
Review: Gone With the Wind is undoubtedly one of the greatest motion pictures ever made. There's great acting, a great script, great photography, great direction, everything! I know some people think it's sudsy; that is true. I know people get upset about the depiction of the slaves; Mammy was not a demeaning character. She was subservient, but she knew a lot more than most of the other characters, and she was funny, too. Prissy was demeaning, because all she did was wail and act stupid. But once you get past those qualms, (which some people have trouble doing), you will see how great this movie is. Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable are one of the great romantic pairings in movies. Leigh is absolutly in top form here, and Gable's wryness is a delight to watch. Olivia de Havilland quietly plays the part of Melanie wonderfully. Some shots and scenes were filmed spectacularly; however, I've only seen them on TV, and I wish I saw them in a theater. The story, espicially in the first part, really holds your interest, and is even moving. This truly is an acievement in filmaking, and is one of my favorite movies. Hopefully people will put qualms they might have about it behind them they next time they see it. Then, they'll really be surprised!

Summary: EXCELLENT!
Review: This is a classic! I enjoyed every second of it! I can't believe anyone could rate it a one-star movie. They must be out of their minds. I like Scarlett and Rhett, but mostly Mellie and Bonnie. I think their are some humorous parts in the movie which make it interesting. I think Ashley is GEEKY and UGLY. I think Scarlett is okay, but I like Elizabeth Taylor better.
