Review: For those who think that drunkenness, lewdness, and boorishness are the hallmarks of humor, this one is a classic. However, for the civilized, this is a steaming heap of trash, and nothing more.

Review: kinda funny movie but not too convincingly done. some of the key roles looked too old even the movie itself insisted that some of them had spent 7 years fooling around and never graduated. john belushi is one of the roles who actually looked too old and too dumb to be admitted in that university in the first place. he was also the most pretentious actor whose every movement simply looked so pretentious and unnatural. since he could only poorly ACT, so he's a poor actor to me. some of the guys even looked like way over forty, what's going on? a very fussy, noisy and crazy movie. those two or three leading guys of that crazy fraternity actually looked pretty out of place, yet the production guys endlessly bragged how they chose wisely and appropriately. this is a over-rated and too much hyped movie.

Review: The quality of the DVD aside, the main problem with this film is that is a silly, sophomoric tribute to drunkenness and idiocy. A talented cast cannot overcome the horrid script and equally bad direction. Junk!

Review: My DVD picture is so dark its unwatchable except for the few scenes filmed outdoors- all the indoor scenes are too dark.
The sound is muddy also- this remix isnt clear through a good stereo system (my Polk speakers).
Universal seems at fault here and now I wont buy the new Scarface- I bet my VHS copy is better than the DVD!
This film isnt that great anyway- way overrated. This is still considered funny? I dont think so.

Summary: A DVD which gives you time to whiz!
Review: First of all, it should be known that I had an ancient VHS taped recording of the complete movie from the days of Delta Tao Chi, and I had watched this classic since I was a wee teenager. That out of the way, any unabashed Nat'l Lampoon-o-phile will certainly tell you that this movie is a classic, of the sort like Blazing Saddles and NL's Vacation series that should be force-fed to students and people alike; and that this DVD should get a boot stuck up its ass, for the sizeable amount of Universal crap that is shoved down your throat barely leaves any room to tolerate the rest of the movie, which luckily enough is of high enough caliber to keep the DVD from being crushed by enraged fists. A medium-to-high quality DVD audience should be able to either stand up and mutter expletives while heading to the head (and come back well with enough time until movie begins), or press that useful FF button and click it enough until Scarface gets the detention of his life in the Breakfast club.
If you like a DVD which gives you time to get some brewskies or drop a load, then you will enjoy a movie which all can enjoy.

Review: Universal has decided to shove advertisements down our throats. Viewers CANNOT skip past the advertisements. You cannot skip to the DVD menu/title, nor can you jump to any chapters until the long previews have been completed. This is insane. Boycott this DVD.

Anyway, the DSP edition is finally here, though the special edition wasn't too long ago!
There's a few gripes here about the ads at the beginning of the movie. Yeah, it's pretty unforgivable in this day and age but you can zoom through them, though you shouldn't have to!
The extras are a bit thin which is a shame because there must be lots more goodies from this movie out there somewhere.
The reunion documentary is good but previously available on the SE dvd which many potential buyers will already have.
Also the trailer here is a lot darker than the one on the SE version as well. Hmmm, not looking too good.
The trivia pop ups are quite fun but not really breathtaking and I doubt you'll use this facility more than once.
The 'Where Are They Now' mock-umentary is fun and the only real new extra on the disc. (The music promo is pretty worthless.)
It's a shame this disc is another wasted opportunity extras wise. I do know that the original running time before edits was about 3 hrs so where's the footage?
Martha Smith recently said that her end scene was edited down for the finished movie. She was originally involved in a catfight with Mary Louise Wellar over the character 'Greg' and that was when she got her dress torn off. Why weren't deleted scenes like this found for the dvd. Maybe in another 5 years we'll get to see another ten minutes of footage.
Final verdict:- Great movie, so-so extras. Could do better.
